THE QUEST FOR MATERIAL THINGS
Many of we youths of this generation are all out on the quest to have enough - even more than enough things to live with, forgetting that life is not a measure of what you have but the impact you can make.
Logging in to my Facebook account on a Sunday morning, I saw a post about a 22 year old lady who lost her life to the hands of ritualists due to her excessive love for wealth and material things.
Many people have fallen into the trap of the devil by getting carried away by the things of this world. As Christians, we are supposed to be conscious of the fact that even though we are in the world, we are not of the world - "...you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world...."(John 17;19b). We have an eternal home prepared for us by Jesus, therefore we should not be carried away by the frivolities of this world.
There is a time and season for every purpose under the heavens, God makes everything beautiful in His time, why not rely on God and allow him to direct your life according to His own perfect plan. Don't try to rush things and give in to covetousness then end up in the devil's trap. Others may run after worldly things but remember that you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, you were made for more, you stand for Jesus and nothing can separate you from His love.
Stop working with your timing, wait for God's timing. Do not run ahead of God. You may want to have it all now but wait on God, he will renew your strength. Someone once said; " the Devil's gifts are like beautifully wrapped time bomb, counting down to explosion". The Devil's gifts may look beautiful but they lead to destruction.
God is very interested in your well being and happiness, wait on Him patiently and see how He will decorate your life with good things. And if you've been deceived by the Devil already, Jesus can still restore you, just call on Him.
Shalom!
