Yes, children are an heritage of the Lord (Psalm 127:3a) but for the children to be godly, there are things we must do.
Today many are praying for their children to be godly children but instead of the children to be godly, they become more worldly and reason is because the parents failed to do the right thing that makes the children to be godly.
Everything needs prayer but when you pray on a wrong foundation, your prayer will become a prayer prayed amiss which means you will not receive answers to such kind of prayer. Before you pray to have a godly child or children, you must be on a godly foundation. And one of the godly foundations is the foundation of your marriage.
Your dealings with your spouse will go along way to produce godly child or children in your marriage.
How you deal with your spouse will determine what kind of child or children you will have.
If you deal with your spouse in a godly way, you will have godly child or children.
If you deal with your spouse in a worldly way, you will have worldly child or children.
As a believer, if you see your child or children living in a worldly manner, check how you deal with your spouse.
You cannot be dealing with your spouse in a worldly way and expect to have a godly child or children.
You cannot be cursing your spouse and expect to have a blessed child or children.
Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7).
Today we are having a lot of abusive and violent children because many marriages is full of abuse and violence.
If you love your spouse, you will have a lovely child or children.
If you bless your spouse, you will have a blessed child or children.
If you praise your spouse, you will have a Praiseologist child or children like the one is blessed with to the glory of God.
If you are faithful to your spouse, you will have a faithful child or children.
How you deal with your spouse will determine what kind of child or children you will have. That is why you must say to yourself: to live with my spouse happily so that I will have a happy child or children.
Malachi 2:15 stated that: And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed (child or children). Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. And 1 Corinthians 7:13-14 stated that: And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
The word of God is the answer to it all.
How you deal with your spouse really determines the kind of child or children you will have. That is why everyone must do his or her best to avoid polygamy, adultery, worldly lifestyle etc in marriage.
Deal with your spouse with honour and respect and you will have a Honourable and respectful child or children.
Your marriage will produce child or children according to your dealings in the marriage.
If you don’t want to have problem child or children, then avoid problems in your marriage.
If you don’t want to have foolish child or children, then avoid foolishness in your marriage.
Tell yourself as a husband or wife: to be godly in my marriage.
Say these words to yourself daily:
1. I am the one to be faithful in my marriage.
2. I am the one to be peaceful in my marriage.
3. I am the one to love my spouse.
4. I am the one to submit to my spouse (Ephesians 5:21).
5. I am the one to protect my spouse.
6. I am the one to be godly in my marriage.
7. I am the one to make my marriage heaven on earth in Jesus Christ Name.
As you make these decisions, the Holy Spirit will help you and God will make you to have a godly home in Jesus Christ Name.
It is possible to deal with your spouse in a godly way and have a godly child or children if Jesus Christ is your Shepherd. Accept Him today and welcome Him to your life and marriage and you will be glad you did so.
