GO FORWARD.

And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”- Exodus 14:15.

Your breakthrough is not behind you; it is in front of you. There is no point in looking backwards and allowing the pains and regret of yesterday to become your focal point. The past is gone; let us, with expectation, advance into the future. Let us go forward with faith and hope, knowing that God has gone ahead of us to prepare new opportunities for us to fix in our lives the problems created by the mistakes of our past.

With God, there is no need to “cry over spilt milk”; we may need to repent, redress and make the necessary restitution when it applies, but even these must be done in the vein of forward motion.

Obedience to God is a vital key to ensuring that we keep going forward; when we stop obeying God, we will definitely start drifting backwards (Jeremiah 7:24). The apostle Paul understood this principle, which was why in spite of his horrible past, he was able to achieve so much for God’s kingdom. The key to Paul’s success was a determination to imbibe a forward-thinking mentality and adopt a forward-moving lifestyle.

Child of God, go forward! Stop regretting and start advancing. There are mighty breakthroughs just ahead of you. Do not look back anymore; raise up your rod of faith and watch your sea divide!

BURSTING FORTH.

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”– Acts 2:1-11 (NIV).

You cannot have an encounter with the Spirit of God and remain the same. Major life events always follow divine encounters, which will often result in significant shifts. These manifestations of God usually result in our “bursting forth” into unprecedented experiences and possibilities.

The Holy Spirit is the Master of manifestations; He will faithfully manifest the will, the love and the glories of God whenever and wherever the right atmosphere is created for Him. By the same token, we should endeavour never to put Him in a box through limiting thoughts, ideas and expectations.

What happened on the day of Pentecost, as revealed in the second chapter of Acts, can be referred to as the “early rain” outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Now, the body of Christ is about to experience the “latter rain” outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which will usher us into the second advent of Jesus Christ to the earth.

The manifestations of the latter rain will totally supersede those that were written in the book of Acts. They will be more glorious and characterised by the greater works that Jesus promised would be the experience of believers as a result of His resurrection and ascension.

Beloved, pray that your life will become a testimony of God’s glorious manifestations starting from today. Amen!

NOT BY HUMAN POWER AND MIGHT.

So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts. 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"– Zechariah 4:6-7 (NKJV).

Excelling in life is not ultimately a function of human power, might or ability, but rather the result of the power of the Holy Spirit working through us as we continually lean on God’s strength day by day.

Our human effort is required only to the extent that God requires our faith and physical cooperation so that His Spirit can accomplish His purposes in us and through us. Even so, we must remain completely dependent on the Holy Spirit every day of our lives for sustenance, direction, and lasting success.

Some people believe they can get ahead in life by outsmarting or outrunning others through their own perceived wisdom and ability, but such people often end up shocked and disappointed later in life. They fail to recognise the danger of running without God until it is too late.

I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favour to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. – Ecclesiastes 9:11.

The phrase “time and chance” here points to divine opportunities orchestrated by the Holy Spirit. Those who run solely in their own strength may end up missing God’s appointed opportunities and eventually crash under the weight of their own self-reliance and deception.

Notice in our key scripture that the help of the Holy Spirit is connected with the grace of God. Zechariah makes it clear that it takes “shouts of grace” — the enabling help of the Holy Spirit — for anyone to overcome the mountains of life and truly excel.

Beloved, I declare that every mountain standing before you is about to be levelled by the power of the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that empowers, strengthens and directs will make a way where none seems to exist. Walk in dependence on Him, and watch grace speak on your behalf. Amen!

RIGHTEOUSNESS CONSCIOUSNESS.

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. – 1 Corinthians 1:30 (NKJV).

As a result of what Christ has done for us, we can examine ourselves and reflect honestly, but we no longer keep records of our shortcomings or mistakes. Even when we stumble, we are reminded that we have an Advocate with the Father. God does not deal with us according to our iniquities. Christ has become for us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

Our righteousness is from God. Hallelujah! Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me.” It is when we become conscious of our righteousness in Christ that no weapon formed against us prospers, and we are able to condemn every voice of accusation, torment, and condemnation that rises against us in judgment.

We are not like the woman with the issue of blood who timidly approached Jesus just to touch the hem of His garment. We now come boldly before the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in times of need. When situations appear contrary, we confidently lay hold of the finished work of Christ because it is our inheritance in Him.

If you find yourself struggling with an addiction or manifestations of the flesh, such as anger, bitterness or malice, remember this: you are not defined by your struggle. You are still the righteousness of God in Christ. This righteousness is the Lord’s doing, not yours. It is on this basis that you come boldly before God to receive His mercy and grace. The devil is the accuser, constantly counting your sins against you, but remember that we have an Advocate with the Father — Jesus Christ the righteous.

Beloved, God is not keeping a record of your shortcomings; it is the enemy who constantly seeks to remind you of them. Therefore, refuse to wear again the chains from which Christ has already delivered you. Walk daily in the consciousness of who you are in Him — righteous, accepted, redeemed and free.

TRUE FREEDOM.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.– Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV).

Jesus became all that we were so that we might become all that He is. As the Bible says, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus took our place and bore our sins, our guilt and our sicknesses so that He could impart His very life and nature to us.

Jesus indeed died to take away the sins of mankind, but this does not automatically translate into salvation for every person. The substitutionary work of Christ only becomes effective when we personally identify with all that He accomplished for us. This happens when we accept Jesus as our Saviour — our perfect Substitute.

The Bible says that with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. When we identify with Christ, we are delivered from the power of darkness and translated into His Kingdom. We are no longer the crucified old man, but the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. No longer slaves to sin, fear or the past. We now have freedom from sin, not freedom to sin. We can boldly live the supernatural life that Christ purchased for us. This is true freedom.

Freedom in Christ is not merely the absence of bo***ge; it is the power to live as a new creation, fully expressing the life and nature of God.

Beloved, you are under no obligation whatsoever to fulfil the lusts of the flesh. You are free. He whom the Son sets free is free indeed! Your old nature and former propensities were crucified with Christ. Now, with this new life that you have received, live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved you and gave Himself for you.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW?

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! – Psalms 27:13-14 (NKJV).

There is so much happening in the world today, and sometimes the noise around us can feel overwhelming. With constantly shifting reports, quiet anxieties and unexpected pressures, it is easy to become consumed by what we see, feel and hear in the natural. The more reason why we must focus on our in-Christ realities. What truly refreshes the soul is the undiluted Word of God.

The Psalmist looked at a reality that was humanly overwhelming and made a very honest confession. He admitted that he was on the edge of losing heart, but one truth sustained him: “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord…” He understood that when life becomes difficult, we must lean on what we believe and anchor ourselves in the assurance of God’s promises. What you know about your Father’s love is what will hold and sustain you through every season.

This is a call to return to the Word and meditate deeply on it, because what you know internally will eventually become your confession externally. We must ask ourselves: What am I feeding on daily? Scripture reminds us that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

If we continually feed on the chaos of the world, our hearts will naturally faint. But when we fill our spirit with the promises of God and make His Word the final authority over our lives, that truth becomes a shield of comfort, strength, and unshakeable hope.

Beloved, as you hold fast to that spiritual certainty, divine strength rises within you. You can rest in the confidence that because you dwell in the secret place of the Most High, you shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. And because He is the God in whom you trust, you can remain assured that He will come through for you.

THE POWER OF A PRAYING COMMUNITY.

Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church… Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. – Acts 12:5, 7 (NKJV).

There is a tender reality in how our Heavenly Father watches over us when the weight of life feels overwhelming. Sometimes, in difficult seasons, exhaustion can quietly settle into our hearts. We may find ourselves simply enduring, feeling too weary to even pray.

The Bible shows us that on the night before his trial, Peter was not pacing in anxiety; he was fast asleep between his guards. The situation was heavy and beyond his control. But what human eyes could not see was that even while Peter rested, a powerful spiritual force was being activated on his behalf.

This reveals an important truth about the community God places around us: a praying community is a divine gift that can stand in the gap for us when we are at our weakest. Peter had the backing of a devoted spiritual family. We all need a community of believers; brethren who recognise when we are under pressure and know how to lift our names to the Throne of Grace when our own voices feel faint.

Deliverance and breakthrough are often set in motion when we are surrounded by the right company. While Peter rested, the church gathered in fervent, unceasing prayer. That collective cry moved the heart of Heaven and sent an angel into the darkness. Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted. The chains fell off, and the prison doors opened.

Beloved, you do not have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders today. Lean into the love of your Heavenly Father and value the praying community He has placed around you. Connect deeply with your local church, connect with the brethren, and find strength in the family of God.

ENFORCING THE VICTORY OF THE CROSS.

Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
– Colossians 2:14-15 (NKJV).

One of the greatest mistakes a believer can make during a season of warfare is to approach deliverance as though it is something they still need to beg God to accomplish. In the courts of heaven, your breakthrough is not a future event that God is still contemplating. It is an established and eternal reality. True deliverance is firmly rooted in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Before Jesus gave up His spirit, He cried out, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). In that monumental moment, every legal argument, demonic claim and every handwriting of ordinances that the enemy could ever use to delay, resist or steal your progress was permanently blotted out. The cross was not a moment of defeat; it was the ultimate arena of triumph where the powers of darkness were publicly disarmed and stripped of their authority.

Your deliverance is fully legal; what remains now is your spiritual enforcement. When you enforce your breakthrough, you are not trying to defeat a powerful enemy — you are stepping into a victory that has already been won on your behalf. Fear, oppression, stagnation, and backwardness have no legal right to thrive in your life because the price for your total freedom has already been paid in full.

Our victory has already been secured. Our responsibility is not to beg for freedom, but to walk boldly in the authority that Christ has already obtained for us.

Child of God, lift up your head and change your perspective. Stop viewing yourself as a victim struggling to fight your way out of captivity. Instead, see yourself as a liberated child of Light, executing the written judgment of God against every force of wickedness attempting to contest your territory.

BREAKTHROUGH THROUGH PRAISE.

Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 2 Chronicles 20:22 (NKJV).

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! – Philippians 4:4.

Praise is one of the purest expressions of faith because it celebrates God’s goodness before the answer arrives. Anyone can praise after receiving a miracle, but it takes faith to praise while still waiting.

When Jehoshaphat faced a vast enemy army, God’s strategy seemed unusual. Instead of placing warriors at the front of the battle line, He instructed them to position singers there. The victory did not begin when the enemy was defeated; it began the moment the people started praising.

Praise shifts our perspective. Problems tend to appear larger when we focus on them, but when we focus on God through worship, we become freshly aware of His greatness. The mountain may not immediately disappear, but it becomes smaller in comparison to the God who is able to move it.

Praise is also an act of spiritual warfare. It declares God’s sovereignty over situations that seem beyond our control. It reminds the enemy that our confidence is not in our own strength, but in God’s faithfulness. Furthermore, praise guards the heart against bitterness, discouragement, and despair. A grateful heart remains sensitive to God’s presence and anchored in hope concerning His promises.

Beloved, if you are waiting for deliverance or breakthrough, do not wait until victory comes before you worship. Praise God because He is worthy. Praise Him because He is faithful. Praise Him because His promises cannot fail. Let your praise go ahead of your breakthrough, knowing that God is already working on your behalf.

A BREAKTHROUGH IS ON THE WAY.

So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim. 2 Samuel 5:20 (NKJV).

A breakthrough is an indication that there has been an obstacle, a struggle, a delay or a prolonged trial in trying to make headway — and then suddenly something happens. The obstacle gives way, the struggle ceases, the expectation manifests, and progress finally comes.

Breakthroughs can also come in situations of impossibility, where a miracle is required — where God Himself must intervene. Such was the case with Sarah, who gave birth to a son long after menopause, or the children of Israel, who were delivered from Egypt after many years of bo***ge beyond the stipulated period (Genesis 15:13; Exodus 12:40). These were situations that required the mighty hand of God.

Some other breakthroughs require patient waiting until the appointed time. Consider Zechariah and Elizabeth (Luke 1:5-25). John was to be the forerunner of Jesus, preparing the way for His coming. He needed to be born at the precise time ordained by God in order to fulfil that assignment. He could not have been born earlier.

In the same way, David had already been anointed king after God rejected Saul, yet he did not ascend the throne until many years later, after enduring threats, pursuit, and repeated attempts on his life by Saul, until Saul eventually died in battle with the Philistines (1 Samuel 16:12-13).

Whatever the situation, at the end of the day, there was a fulfilment of God’s word of promise to each of them. They broke through.

Beloved, whatever may be confronting you at this moment, you too will break through. The Lord will make a way for you just as He did for David. If patience is required, then be patient. If the situation seems impossible, know that the Lord will show Himself mighty on your behalf and bring His Word to pass. His Word cannot return to Him void.
