REFLECTION
28-MAY-2026 Readings
In today’s reading, Peter reminds us that as God’s chosen people, we are called to grow in holiness and spiritual maturity. We are living stones, being built into a spiritual house with Christ as the cornerstone. Once without mercy, now we have received it, and so our lives must reflect God’s light to the world. By living uprightly, even among those who doubt or accuse us, we bring glory to God through our good works.
The Psalm invites us to serve the Lord with gladness and joyful praise. We belong to Him—His flock, His creation—and His faithful love endures through every generation.
In the GOSPEL, Bartimaeus’s persistence in faith shows how God listens to those who call out from the heart. Though others tried to silence him, he cried louder, and Jesus responded with healing. His restored sight became both physical and spiritual—a symbol of renewed faith. We, too, are invited to cry out to Christ with trust, to rise when He calls, and to follow Him in the light of life.
