Topic: The Little Great Things
Text: 1 Corinthians 16:9
Great doors swing on small hinges.
Many people desire great outcomes, yet often ignore the little things that produce those outcomes.
Nothing in life happens suddenly. Behind every visible result are a series of events - hidden patterns, small decisions, and repeated actions.
We make our choices, and eventually our choices make us. Success and failure are not merely matters of luck. Specific actions and thought patterns produce consistent results in a person’s life.
Scripture reminds us in Galatians 6:7 that whatever a man sows, he will reap. It is a mockery of God for a person to think actions have no consequences.
Both God and the devil work through little things that eventually produce great outcomes.
If the hinges of a door fail, the door becomes useless. In the same way, there are small things in our lives that can either make or destroy destiny.
What destroys people is often subtle, not dramatic. The “little foxes” mentioned in Song of Solomon 2:15 are small compromises, unnoticed habits, and gradual patterns that quietly damage a person’s life and purpose.
Jesus also showed that little things can produce mighty outcomes.
In Matthew 17:20, He taught that even small faith, when correctly placed and aligned, can move mountains. Every harvest begins with a seed. Though small, the seed multiplies into abundance.
Life is shaped more by what is small and consistent than by what is big and occasional. A person does not live physically by occasional meals, but by consistent feeding. In the same way, spiritual growth, discipline, wisdom, and character are built daily.
Small habits become patterns, and patterns become character. What you ignore because it seems small may eventually define your life because it is consistent.
Grace is not a substitute for responsibility. We are saved by grace, but we are shaped by our choices.
God will help you, but He will not replace your responsibility in matters concerning your life.
Therefore, pay attention to the little things:
• Thoughts — you decide what should stay or not because your mind shapes your life.
• Words — let your speech build and not destroy.
• Habits — deal with the “little foxes” early.
• Consistency — small right actions repeated daily produce lasting greatness.
• Start small in the right direction. Be faithful in what looks insignificant, because great outcomes are often hidden inside little disciplines.
Little things are not little; they are the hinges on which life turns.
