Day 8: Lent

Theme: Fed by the Word

Matthew 4:4 - "Man shall not live by bread alone".

You know that scripture, don't you? It was declared by the Lord Jesus when Satan came to tempt him.

Jesus has just finished fasting for 40 days and was hungry. The next Satan did was to ask him to turn stones into bread to eat, just to prove he is God.

Two things here. Satan always comes to tempt you from your weakest point. He never tempts at your area of strength.

Again, you need have the word of God to counter whatever the enemy throw at you. Right now, what is he asking you to do that is contrary to the word?

Your spirit requires nourishment just as your body does. If you only feed on news, social Media, and conversations, your spirit becomes weak, and you can easily fall when temptation comes.

Let the word of God become your daily bread. One scriptural verse you meditate on deeply is enough to carry you each day.

May you find joy in the Word of God this season.

Prayer: Lord, make your word my daily strength. In Jesus name 🙏 Amen 🙌

Theme: Lay Aside Weights

Heb. 12:1 commands us to lay aside every weight and sin that seeks to drag us and slow us down.

Not everything slowing you down is sinful. Some things are just unnecessary. Extra noise! Extra commitments. Extra distractions. Extra here, extra there; they combine to slow you down 👇

What are those things you are engaged in right now that are impeding your progress?

What is weighing you down spiritually? Lent is a season to simplify your life so that your spirit can sour.

Whatever it's that is slowing down should be dropped.

Prayer: Father, show me what I must lay aside to move forward.

May you receive courage to do the right thing in Jesus name 🙏

Theme: Living Sacrifice

Rom. 12:1: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service ".

Today, we are called to offer our bodies as living sacrifice to God. This calls for surrender of your flesh to God. Surrender is not a weakness. It is trust. It is saying, 'God, I release control.' When you surrender, you position yourself for divine direction.

It's time to bring the hunger of your flesh into subjection. Tame your fleshly appetite and see how God will elevate you

Today, place your plans, your ambition, and your fears before him.

Your body is a temple, of holiness or unholiness. You decide.

Prayer: Lord, I lay myself on your altar. Empower me to serve you better. In Jesus name. Amen 🙏

Theme for Today: Guard Your Heart

Prov. 4:23 says, Guard your heart, for everything flows from it.

Your life flows from your inner life. If your heart is cluttered with bitterness, fear or comparison, your actions will reflect it.

Lent invites us to clean internal peace. Pay attention to what enters your heart - conversations, media and thoughts.

Protect your peace. Protect your purity. Protect your focus

Prayer: Holy Spirit, guard my heart from anything that pulls me away from you.

Day 3: Season

DRAW NEAR

James 4:8 says, "Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, ye dinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded"..

Notice - the first move is ours. God responds to pursuit. If you take one step, He comes running with grace. That's God for you!

Sometimes we wait for a feeling before we pray. But discipline often precedes emotion. Open the Word even if you feel nothing.

Kneel even if you feel distracted. Consistency builds closeness.

Today, draw near intentionally.

God does not like a double-minded person. Decide what you want to change. Ask God for grace. Take steps to make changes, no matter how small. The Lord will be with you along the way.

The pursuit of God leads to fulfillment of destiny.

Prayer: Lord, as I move closer to you, please meet me in my pursuit this season. In Jesus mighty name, Amen!
