Sunday Sermon 10th May'27

Theme: Explosive Growth Drive – 40 Million Souls by 2032*

Topic: Thy Later Harvest Should be Greatly Increased.

Anchor Text:
Job 8:7 “Though your beginning was small, your latter end shall be greatly increased.”

Haggai 2:9 “The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former.”

1. God’s Pattern is to always Increase.*
God doesn’t stay where He started, and He doesn’t expect us to either.

*Abraham:* _Gen 17:25_ – God declared an increase. From one man to a nation.
- *Israel:* From 70 people in Egypt to a nation in 400 years _Ex 1:7_.
- *The Church:* _Acts 2:4_ – 120 in the upper room became 3,000 in one day, then thousands more.
*Truth:* If God is involved, the ending is always greater than the beginning. Stagnation isn’t His plan.

2. Why Growth Stops*
Growth stalls when we break partnership with God’s agenda. 3 killers:

A. *Satisfaction with past results* – “We’ve done enough” kills hunger.
B. *Loss of burden for souls. Matt 9:35-36_. Jesus saw the crowds and was moved. When compassion dies, evangelism stops.
C. *Shift from mission to maintenance* – We start managing what we have instead of reaching for what we don’t.

3. How to Break into Explosive Growth*
If we want “thy latter harvest greatly increased,” we must act:

A. *Repent and Retrospect* – Go back, check where the burden dropped. _Rev 2:5_ “Remember from where you have fallen, repent, and do the first works.”
B. *Prepare for the greater harvest* – You don’t wait for harvest to get tools ready. Get systems, people, and heart ready now.
C. *Expand Capacity* – _Phil 4:13_ “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
D. *Cast your net back* _Luke 5:5_.
5. *Ensure adequate preparation.

Anointing Service Sunday 10th MAY'26

Topic: Discovering and Maximizing Your Potentials
Text: Luke 4:16-21

*Key Truth*
Just as Jesus discovered and declared His purpose from Scripture, we must discover who we are in Christ, align with God’s plan, and take intentional steps to maximize our potentials.

*1. Why Discovering Purpose Matters*
- *Recovery follows discovery*: Discovering lost things leads to recovery. Jesus recovered His mission by reading what was written about Him long before His ministry _Luke 4:17-19_.
- *Alignment precedes fulfillment*: We are expected to discover God’s plan for us so we can align and walk in it.
- *Identity fuels capacity*: Discovering who we are in Christ helps us maximize our potentials. As workers, we must know who we are and what God has placed in our hands.
- *Action is required*: Discover your talents and gifts, then take intentional steps toward your God-given goals.

*2. Practical Steps to Discover Your Purpose*
1. *Self-reflection* _1 Sam 30:1_ – David “encouraged himself in the Lord.” Pause, pray, and ask God: _Who am I? What has He placed in me?_
2. *Identify your strengths and talents* – What comes naturally to you? What do people consistently affirm in you?
3. *Explore and experiment* – Step outside your comfort zone. Take calculated risks. Potential is discovered in action, not just in prayer.
4. *Seek guidance and counsel* – Learn from those ahead of you. Wisdom is cheaper than experience.
5. *Set God-centered goals* – Let your goals aim at worshipping God and advancing His kingdom, not just personal gain.

*3. Benefits of Living in Your Purpose*
1. *Gives meaning to life* – You stop living by default and start living by design.
2. *Positive impact and influence* – Your life becomes a blessing to others.
3. *Inner peace and joy* – There’s fulfillment in walking in what God created you for.

*4. Channels for Discovering Your Purpose*
1. *Divine direction and instruction* – Through prayer and the Word.
2. *Visions and revelation* – God speaks in dreams, impressions, and Scripture.
3. *Passion* – God often plants clues in what stirs you and breaks your heart.

*Closing Charge*
Jesus stood up, read, and declared: _“This Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing”_ _Luke 4:21_. The same God who wrote your purpose before you were born wants it fulfilled in your lifetime.

Stop guessing. Wake up, Start discovering. Stop hiding. Start maximizing.

TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY:

THE BATTLE THAT DESTROYS A MAN*
*Text: Romans 7:7-23*

Background: The Real Battlefield Is Inside*
1. The battle that destroys a man is more internal than external* _Rom 7:23_
External enemies can be resisted. But the enemy collapses a man from the inside out.
2. *Man is the architect of the internal battle*
We don’t stumble into it by accident. We feed it through our choices and desires.
3. *That battle is mostly covetousness* – an uncontrolled appetite.

*Definition: What is Covetousness?*
1. *An excessive desire to have what belongs to another* – wealth, position, spouse, influence. _Exodus 20:17_
2. *The absence of contentment 1 Tim 6:6-8_
3. *A vice to hate, not a virtue* _Prov 6:16-19_
4. *A destiny-killer for believers* _1 Tim 6:9-10_ – it pierces a man with many sorrows and derails purpose.

*The Core of the Internal Battle: Uncontrolled Appetite*
*Covetousness = appetite that is not under control.*
When appetite rules you instead of you ruling it, destruction follows. _Prov 25:28_ “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”

*Points: How This Battle Plays Out*
1. *Victory over the internal battle brings victory externally* _1 Cor 9:26-27_
Paul said “I discipline my body and bring it under control” so he wouldn’t be disqualified after preaching to others.

2. *Uncontrolled appetite destroys a man*

*Biblical Examples:*
- *Adam & Eve* _Gen 3:4-6_ – Destroyed by an appetite for forbidden knowledge. “It was desirable to make one wise.”
- *Esau* _Gen 25:29-34_ – Traded a lifelong covenant for a single bowl of stew. One moment’s appetite cost him his birthright. _Heb 12:16_
- *Samson* _Judges 16_ – Not killed by the Philistines. He was undone on the lap of pleasure. He coveted every beautiful woman and it cost him his eyes, strength, and calling.

The Gateways: Money, S*x, Food*
These three are *not evil in themselves*. _1 Tim 4:4_ “Everything God created is good.”
But when uncontrolled, they become the gateway to destruction.

Money in particular:*
_1 Tim 6:10_ “The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.”
Money is a tool. But when it takes over the truth, ministry becomes business and “What will I gain?” becomes the motive.

*Examples:*
1. *Judas Iscariot* _Matt 26:15_ – Sold Christ for 30 pieces of silver.
2. *Gehazi* _2 Kings 5_ – Ran after Naaman’s gift and ended with leprosy. He missed Elisha’s double anointing.
3. *Balaam* _Numbers 22-31; Matt 6:24_ – Led Israel into sin because of a selfish appetite for gain. “You cannot serve God and mammon.”
On the Path to Victory there will always be external challenges. But the first step to victory is dealing with the internal issues that make us fall short of God’s glory. _Rom 7:24-25_ “Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

Victory comes through practicing contentment* _Heb 13:5_ – “Be content with what you have, for He has said ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.

*Key Takeaway*
*The battle that destroys a man is an uncontrolled appetite for covetousness.*
Wealth, s*x, and food are tools in God’s hand. But when they become masters, they become traps.
