Day 21 of the Omer: TOLERANCE, CARING & LOVE
Tolerance doesn’t care. Tolerance just looks the other way and goes its own business. Tolerance is indifferent.
Caring is blind – the kind of caring that cares for everybody, no matter who they are, but doesn’t allow them to step outside the path your caring believes to be good for them. Caring can suffocate.
And then there is deep love. Deep love recognizes another person’s right to grow, their need to travel along a path and get there on their own -and yet has the compassion to be there for them when they are lost.
Isaiah 43:2-4
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.
4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.
The question is, why make the loved one pass through the waters and fire before saving them. That is because God love is real love, it does not take away the believer’s right or freedom of choice. That is Deep Love.
Deep love has room for a thousand private journeys.
Blessed are You, O LORD our God, King of the Universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer.
Today is 21 days, which is 2 weeks of the Omer!
May the merciful and compassionate One cleanse us from all our impurities and defects, and help us to walk in true obedience to the true love of God. In Yeshua HaMashiach. Amen and Amen!
