New Year Message To All Nigerian Catholic Choristers.
On this first day of the year 2024 and Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, I bring you this message of congratulations on God's divine graces bestowed on us from His unending benevolence and mercies.
The celebrations of today provides us the opportunity as choristers to rededicate, model and claim the blessings allotted to us in Numbers 6:22 - 27 and Psalm 67
There is no doubt that the out-gone year 2023 was very eventful for us as a Body. You all have maintained charisma in the discharge of your duties - helping to ignite the church liturgies with good liturgical music. Thank you.
As a Council, our duty is to harmonize with the church hierarchy at all levels to protect and sustain the musical heritage of the church which, through the grace of God you have been Instrumental for the glorification of God, the sanctification of ourselves and the edification of Christ faithful.
NACALIMCO will continue to advance the course of good liturgical music all through the new year and beyond as she has done in the past. With your commitment, we have taken a step further this year to put in place a strong team that will provide support and guardians for our general growth in achieving certain aims. As soon as the internal checks and processes are concluded, the team shall be unveiled.
The National Conference of NACALIMCON has been an avenue to discuss amongst ourselves, the duties, and how these duties should be carried out. This year, the conference will hold in Benin Province. Details will be made available in due course. We encourage as many choir leaders as possible to commence early preparation to be in attendance.
My dear Choristers, the Political and Economic climate of our dear Country is becoming really very challenging. Prayers are required at all times to ease the resulting effects. As we carry out our duties across the parishes in the country, I call on you all to be security conscious at all times.
We are brethren in the Lord, let us always remember our Anthem 'EAST, WEST, NORTH AND SOUTH ALL LOCATION NO BARRIER TO HOLD .... Let us continue to see this phrase of our anthem as an antidote for our continuous unity.
As we enjoy God's abundant grace, let us be more obedient to the Word of God which we preach through our music on daily basis.
Indeed, we lost some choristers or loved ones to the cold hands of death over the past year across the country. May their souls rest in perfect peace with the Lord. Amen!
For the sick amongst us, may St. Raphael intercede for God's hands of quick recovery and healing to rest on them. Amen! We pray for God's continuous protection and blessings on us all.
We shall end this year in great Jubilation!
Once again, I wish you all a prosperous year 2024.
