DIVINE AUTHORISATION FOR UNSTOPPABLE GROWTH

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end... (Isaiah 9:7).

Once, many years ago, the Lord said to me, “Son, keep growing.” Instantly, it registered in my spirit and I understood what He meant; it was a license to grow, a divine authorization to keep making progress without restraint. And that has been my life and my experience; anything I get involved with grows, and the growth is ever increasing.

For example, this devotional is available in every known language and dialect of the world and distributed in every known nation and territory on earth. This isn’t the work of a man. Our Healing Streams programme reaches over 7 billion participants around the world and in every language known to be spoken on earth.

This is somewhat astonishing and a mystery to some people, so they say it can’t be real. Well, it’s God’s work, and when you understand how God works, you’d know He gives different graces as He wills. Also, the Bible says He sets boundaries that men can’t pass over (Psalm 104:9).

In other words, there’re people whose boundaries, the extent of what they can achieve, have been determined by God. When they reach that measure, they’ve fulfilled what God assigned to them and God is pleased because they’ve fulfilled His purpose.

But for some of us, our progress is unstoppable; it’s ever-increasing until the Master shows up. The Master Himself is the greatest example of such ever-increasing and limitless growth. The prophecy about Him says, “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end...” (Isaiah 9:7).

That means His government, His rulership, dominion, and peace, never stops. It keeps spreading until it takes over the whole world. His peace keeps expanding as we declare and enforce it in all nations. Hallelujah.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for your purpose and your direction for my life. I receive your Word into my spirit and I walk in the light of your plan. I keep growing, increasing and expanding in all that you have appointed for me. My life produces results that glorify you, and your peace and dominion spread through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

🔵The Bible admonishes us to ….”be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus “ (2 Timothy 2:1). That means we should take advantage of God’s unmerited favor! He had qualified us by Himself to be blessed.

🔵It is not our works but His own work on our behalf that has qualified us for this special place. That’s what Grace is all about, and Paul the Apostle encourages us to take advantage of it.

🔵God had qualified you to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:12).In other words, you’re qualified to receive God’s best, not because of your own work of righteousness but through the Grace of Jesus Christ.

🔵You need to know that receiving from God is not according to the works that we have done, but according to His grace. That grace is in Christ Jesus.

🔵He made us qualify to receive God’s best.

Hallelujah!!!

🔵Settle this truth in your heart: nothing can disqualify you from receiving God’s best, not even your sins!

🔵You’re qualified to receive every good thing that God has made ready for all those who are in Christ Jesus!!!

CHRIST—THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE
..The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? (Matthew 21:42).

We learnt, in our previous study, one of the clearest truths in Scripture: The Lord Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Church. This is not an idea or a mere concept. In Matthew 21:42, He identified Himself as the stone spoken of in prophecy, the One rejected by the builders yet chosen by God to become the head of the corner.

The Apostle Paul, by the Spirit, also stated this plainly in 1 Corinthians 3:11, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” That settles it. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only true foundation. No other foundation can be laid.

This aligns perfectly with the prophecy of Isaiah: “Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation…” (Isaiah 28:16). God was speaking here about a Person—Christ Jesus, who also quoted the same prophetic words in Psalm 118:22, when He said, “…Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?” (Matthew 21:42).

The rejection of Christ didn’t cancel God’s plan. It fulfilled it. The One they refused became the cornerstone of God’s eternal structure. In Acts chapter 4, the apostles proclaimed this truth boldly and made it unmistakable: “This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner” (Acts 4:11).

This is why the “rock” Jesus spoke of in Matthew 16 is not a revelation, and it’s not Peter. The Scriptures consistently identify Christ as the Rock, the Stone, the Foundation, and the Chief cornerstone. Paul further confirms this in Ephesians 2:20 when he said by the Spirit that we “...are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.”

The stability of the Church is Christ, and those who believe in Him are founded on the Rock, immovable and victorious forever! This is the glory of the Gospel. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

I’m founded on Christ, the Sure Foundation and Chief Cornerstone of the Church. My faith is anchored on Him alone and my life is built on His unshakable truths. I walk in stability, confidence and victory because I am founded on the Rock, Christ Jesus. Amen!

𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐆𝐎𝐃

⚫️Another passage of Scripture that talks about ‘petition’ is 1 John 5:I4–15:

—-⭐️📖“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

⚫️Since praying according to the will of God is the key ingredient for success in the prayer of petition, it is important for us to understand exactly what it means to “ask according to God’s will.”

⚫️Many Christians have assumed, mostly as a result of their misconception of the Scriptures, that the reason they didn’t receive answers to their prayers was because such prayers weren’t in line with God’s Will for them.

⚫️They assume God didn’t want them to have what they were asking for.

⚫️But this is an erroneous interpretation of God’s Word in the context of prayer.

⚫️Let’s look at the Scripture again:

—⭐️📖“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1 John 5:14-15).

⚫️Those who hold that mistaken notion that their prayers weren’t answered because they didn’t pray according to God’s will fail to understand that the Holy Spirit’s emphasis in this scripture isn’t primarily the consistency of their request with God’s will, but their exclusive privilege of having a hearing with God.

⚫️Furthermore, when He tells us to ask according to God’s will, He isn’t talking about “WHAT” we ask for, but “HOW” we ask for it.

⚫️In other words, the way and manner we present our petitions ought to be consistent with God’s stipulated pattern.

⚫️It’s important to know, therefore, how to ask the Father according to His will for asking.

—⭐️📖“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full...At that day ye shall ask in my name...” (John 16:23-24,26).

⚫️Jesus, at this instance, introduced the exclusive deal—the new, acceptable way of asking from God.

⚫️When you make requests to the Father in Jesus’ Name, you’re actually functioning in Jesus’ stead.

⚫️It’s as though Jesus were the one making that request.

⚫️You know, some religious folks consider praying directly to the Father a sacrilege; they’d rather resort to intermediaries such as Mary, or the Apostles, or some “saint.”

⚫️Some others think the best they can attain to is commune with Jesus, who will then intercede for them with God.

⚫️But that’s exactly what Jesus said He won’t do:

—⭐️📖 “In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God” (John 16:26-27).

⚫️The Father doesn’t need anyone to plead with Him before He does something for you or grants your request.

⚫️He loves you unconditionally! And all He wants is for you to ask according to His will—in the Name of Jesus— and it’s yours.

⚫️His will for asking therefore is in the Name of Jesus.

✅Hallelujah!!!

🟤After His death on the cross, Jesus went into hell. And while He was in hell, He grappled with prin- cipalities and powers and overthrew them.

🟤They wrestled with Him, trying to knock Him down, but because the demand of justice had been satisfied, He threw them all off. Then He was raised from the grave by the power of God.

🟤That’s why we say we’re happy He died for us, because, when the claims of justice had been fulfilled and He was raised up from the dead, we were justified, declared not guilty.

🟤Romans 4:25, “Who was delivered for our of- fences, and was raised again for our justification.”

🟤The sacrifice of Hisblood was made once and was accepted for all time. Hebrews 9:26 says, “For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”

🟤The sacrifice of Jesus was adequate. It was per- fect, it was enough! There is nothing more to be added to it.

🟤He was 100% man and 100% God; the perfect mediator between man and God. When He paid the price, we became as one who had paid the price. We became qualified to receive the divine life, and He poured out His life into our spirit.

🟤That same sacrifice that was effective in the washing away of our sins was equally effective in de- stroying the power of sickness over our lives.

🟤Isaiah 53:5, “But he was wounded for our trans- gressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chas- tisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

🟤The same way He was wounded for our trans- gressions is the same way He was dealt bruises for our sicknesses.

🟤What am I getting at? You don’t need to be sick ever again. Of course, the devil may want to afflict your body, but when you stand on your rights he will flee from

🟤Hallelujah!!!

⚫️He is the Power by which God made the whole world.

⚫️The Holy Spirit, the Bible says, is the One Who garnished the heavens (Job 26:13).

⚫️When God speaks, the Holy Spirit is the One who brings it to pass.

⚫️He’s the Doer of the things of God.

⚫️So, when God wants to do something in your life, it will have to be by the Holy Spirit. This is why you need the Holy Spirit in your life today.

⚫️Even the Lord Jesus Christ had to have the Holy Spirit. It was only after the Holy Spirit came into His life that His ministry and the miraculous began.

⚫️Remember that when He was on earth, even though He was the Son of God, He didn’t operate or minister as the Son of God. He operated and ministered as a man, the son of man (1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 12:8).

⚫️The Bible says He laid aside His glory and became a man like everyone of us; and because He found Himself being fashioned as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient even unto the death on the cross (Philippians 2:5-8).

⚫️When Jesus walked the earth, He was hungry like everyone else.

⚫️He was thirsty like everyone else. He got tired and He slept like everyone else. He could be tempted like everyone else, but He never fell into any temptation (Hebrews 4:15).

⚫️This was why He needed to have the Holy Spirit, because He didn’t minister on earth as the Son of God even though He was the Son of God.

⚫️If you have the Holy Spirit and let Him take charge of your life, it doesn’t matter what your situation is, He’ll turn it around for your good.

⚫️If the Holy Spirit takes over your family, your business or your health, it doesn’t matter what troubles you’ve been experiencing or what’s been going wrong, you will begin to go from strength to strength, from grace to grace, from faith to faith, from success to success and from greatness to greatness.

⚫️When the Holy Spirit takes over your life, He’ll drive every sickness out of your body;

⚫️He’ll make right everything that was wrong.

USE THE WORD TO JUDGE THE RIGHT COUNSEL

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day (Matthew 16:21).

Matthew 16 reveals an important moment between the Lord Jesus and His disciples. After they had been preaching and declaring Him the Christ, the Master began to focus inward, revealing what was to come. He instructed His disciples to keep His identity secret for the time being.

Soon after, He explained that He must go to Jerusalem, suffer many things, be killed, and then raised back to life. Upon hearing all that, Peter did something unbelievable. The Bible says he took the Lord aside “…and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee” (Matthew 16:22).

Think about that; Peter rebuking the Master. The Lord knew it was Satan who spoke through Peter and addressed Satan directly, saying, “…Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men” (Matthew 16:23).

Peter, on that occasion, must have been startled, because he wasn’t aware it was the devil who put those words in his mouth. It matters who you’re speaking for. Only give vent to the things that be of God. Never lend your voice in support of Satan.

It’s the reason knowing the Word and having it renew your mind is so important. Let the Word of God dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16). The knowledge of God’s Word makes you discerning; you’re able to judge good from evil and prove (allow) the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). With the light of God’s Word, you’re able to judge what’s coming from you, what’s coming from Satan or what’s coming from God.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for your Word that gives me understanding and discernment. My heart is established in your truth, and I recognise every thought, voice and influence that is not from you. My knowledge of your Word guides me, and I speak in alignment with your will at all times. I walk in victory, and I live conscious of who I am in Christ. Hallelujah!
