HER REDEMPTION STORY:
Rachel: (Frustrated) Sarah, how can you just accept all this? I’ve been through so much. The pain, the betrayal... If God was real, why would He let that happen? I’m not buying it.
Sarah: (Gentle but firm) I get it, Rachel. I’ve seen my share of heartache too. (Pauses) But I’ve learned that faith isn’t about the absence of suffering. It’s about knowing God is there even in the hardest moments.
Rachel: (Sarcastically) Yeah, because the Bible really answers all of life’s hard questions. It’s easy for you to say. You’ve always had it together. Just see the way everything works not well for you, you're always quick yo say it's thr Bible or Jesus
Sarah: (Calmly) I don’t have it all together. But I know that through Jesus, I find strength. You’ve been asking yourself the wrong questions. It’s not about why bad things happen, but about where we turn when they do. (Quoting Scripture) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Rachel: (Mocking) Rest? From what? Life?
Sarah sighs, not wanting to give up on her friend.
Sarah: (Softly) I can’t force you to believe, Rachel. But I’ll keep praying for you. You’re welcome to ask questions anytime.
Scene 2: At Church (A Sunday Service)
Rachel reluctantly sits in the back of the church with Sarah and Emily. She looks around, clearly uncomfortable.
John (Preacher, from the pulpit): (Passionately) You see, when life breaks you down, that’s when you’ll realize: You can’t do it on your own. You weren’t meant to carry all of that weight. Jesus didn’t come just to give us nice words; He came to save us from ourselves. He’s the answer to your pain, your loneliness. You only need to trust Him.
Rachel shifts in her seat, visibly unsettled by John’s words. She looks up at the cross, then down at her hands, and back to Sarah, her skepticism building.
John: (Pointing directly at the congregation) If you’re broken, if you’re lost, Jesus wants to heal you. “Come to Me, all who are weary...”
John’s voice becomes softer but intense.
John: (Quoting Scripture) “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
