Don't Ignore Wise Counsel || Daily Counsel || Pastor Onyeka Ibeh

"Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety." — Proverbs 11:14

One of the costliest mistakes a person can make is ignoring wise counsel. God often guides, protects, and corrects us through the wisdom of others. While personal conviction is important, refusing godly advice can lead to unnecessary mistakes, delays, and regrets.

Pride causes people to believe they already know enough. Wisdom, however, recognizes the value of learning from those who have gone ahead. A teachable spirit opens the door to growth, while a stubborn spirit often leads to avoidable failures.

Rehoboam inherited a great kingdom, but he rejected the counsel of experienced elders and followed the advice of his peers. The result was a divided kingdom and a weakened legacy. (1 Kings 12:6-16)

Not every opinion deserves your attention, but wise counsel should never be dismissed lightly. God can save you years of pain through the right voice at the right time.

Counsel:
1. Seek advice from mature and godly people.
2. Remain teachable even when correction is uncomfortable.
3. Measure every counsel against the truth of God's Word.

Wise people do not know everything; they know the value of listening, learning, and applying godly wisdom.

Prayer: May God surround you with wise voices, give you a teachable spirit, and grant you discernment to recognize and follow godly counsel. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

JESUS IS LORD.

Learn to Finish

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7

Starting is important, but finishing is what completes the assignment. Many people begin with excitement, passion, and good intentions, yet few remain committed long enough to reach the end. Success is not measured merely by what you start, but by what you finish.

Challenges, delays, distractions, and discouragement often appear along the journey. Those who finish understand that perseverance is just as important as vision. They remain faithful even when progress is slow and results are not immediately visible.

Nehemiah faced opposition, criticism, and obstacles while rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Yet he remained focused and completed the work God placed in his hands.

Do not allow temporary difficulties to cause you to abandon what God has called you to do. Stay committed, remain faithful, and keep moving forward.

Counsel:
1. Do not quit when challenges arise.
2. Stay focused on the assignment God has given you.
3. Develop the discipline to finish what you start.

Many people can start, but those who finish leave a lasting impact.

Prayer: May God give you endurance, focus, and the grace to faithfully complete every assignment He has entrusted to you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

JESUS IS LORD.

God Uses Ordinary People

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty." — 1 Corinthians 1:27

Many people believe they are not qualified to be used by God. They focus on their weaknesses, limitations, and lack of experience. Yet throughout Scripture, God consistently used ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary purposes.

God is not looking for perfect people; He is looking for willing people. He called shepherds, fishermen, and ordinary men and women who simply trusted Him and obeyed His voice. Their effectiveness came not from their abilities alone, but from God's power working through them.

Moses felt inadequate. Gideon saw himself as insignificant. Yet God used both mightily because they responded to His call.

Do not disqualify yourself when God has called you. What you lack in strength, experience, or confidence, God is able to supply through His grace.

Counsel:
1. Stop focusing on your limitations.
2. Trust God's ability more than your own.
3. Be willing to obey when God calls.

God specializes in using ordinary people for extraordinary purposes. Make yourself available to Him.

Prayer: May God strengthen your faith, remove every sense of inadequacy, and use your life for His glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

JESUS IS LORD.
