OUR HEROES PAST & PRESENT
On a very serious note, the role of Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi, former Grand Kadi of Northern Nigeria in the establishment, growth and stability of JIBWIS cannot be neglected in whatever kind of discourse no matter how long or short. Similarly, the IZALA story cannot be complete without mention of its first National Chairman, Alhaji Musa Maigandu Muhammad, Sheikh Isma'ila Idris Ibn Zakariyya (IZALA’s First Chairman of Ulama’u Council) and his invaluable, indispensable contributions to the success of today’s JIBWIS. Other eminent persons dead or alive, in this category include (now deceased): Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Maishinkafa, Sheikh Hudu Chikaji Zariya, Sheikh Adam Mai Shafi, Sheikh Abubakar Imam Ikara, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim Tofa (erstwhile Director of FAG), Sheikh Rabi'u Aliyu Daura, Sheikh Dr. Alhassan Sa'id Adam Jos, just to mention a few. Worthy of note in the same line are the youngsters at the early age of IZALA who have now turned older and grey but have not relinquished the mission of the organisation. They include: Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan Katsina (Trustee), Sheikh Usman Isah Taliyawa Gombe, Sheikh Abbas Muhammad Jega, Hafiz Abubakar Adam Katsina and Sheikh Habibu Yahaya Kaura. Other hardworking scholars and preachers who deserve honourable mention in this regard are Sheikh (Dr) Muhammad Kabir Haruna Gombe, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Arugungu, Sheikh Prof. END NOTE
In the end, it is our prayer that all those who have sacrificed their knowledge, wealth, life and energy in the promotion of this religious struggle be blessed with eternal rest in Jannatul-Firdaus and may we all reunite at the peak of greatness in the afterlife.
