Penticostal Genuflection
In the house of Cornelius, when Peter was honored, by Genuflections from Cornelius' family he opposed such acts, saying, “I am a man just like you.” When He was addressing a Gentile he visited under the Lord’s instruction. Likewise, when John the Beloved bowed before the heavenly messenger in Revelation, the servant rebuked him, saying, “No, I am your fellow servant. Worship God.”This raises a serious question: why do we not rebuke fellow pastors, ministers, or members when they bow before us or ascribe glory to us, instead of directing it to God? The danger is real when men of God begin to indirectly “eat” the glory meant for the Lord, under the disguise of "Am the senior pastor, Papa or Mama in the Lord, they step into a trap set by the enemy. This is my thought i stand to be corrected any way. tremble when I see such practices. Sometimes, out of respect, I bow to greet spiritual elders, but only a few redirect that honor back to God, showing they are not taking His glory. They woukd raise you up or stop you outrightly
This is what troubles me: in many churches today, ancient traditions and human customs dictate ministry, rather than the Spirit of God.We must return to Scripture. We must not allow tradition to control what belongs to the Spirit. All glory belongs to God alone. Make una correct me if am nit making sense. Should our Yoruba Isha or Igbo tradition supersede the scriptures which we all know as the eternal constitituion of eternity, do we have biblical parliaments here that can oppose this truth?
