Don’t Get in Your Own Way

Tuesday, 26th May 2026

“And there was a man called Zaccheus; he was a chief tax collector [a superintendent to whom others reported], and he was rich. Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, but he could not see because of the crowd, for he was short in stature. So he ran on ahead [of the crowd] and climbed up in a sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way.” Luke ‭19:2‬-‭4‬ (‭AMP) ‬‬‬‬‬‬

If we were to be honest with ourselves, we would realise that we lose out on quite a few things in life because of personal preferences, fears, or opinions about ourselves we, for some reason, feel constrained to uphold. One must have certain personal boundaries and be resolved not to compromise godly values and principles, but there are some things that are nothing more than self-centred preoccupations, and they, at times, stop us from submitting in the ways we need to, to receive God’s best per time and situation.

Despite his position in society as a wealthy, high-ranking official, Zaccheus rolled up his ‘agbada’ and climbed a tree, in front of everyone! In God’s plan for him and his household, it was the day of their salvation. He may not have known this, he just didn’t allow pride get in the way of what God needed him to do to, to be seen by Jesus.

The Canaanite woman who came to Jesus seeking deliverance for her possessed daughter could have taken offence when the Master inferred she was a dog. But she didn’t allow self get in the way of the miracle she needed – not pride, fear, nor a sense of inferiority.

Be careful never to feel too big or too small to do what the Holy Spirit guides and instructs you to do, to experience fully all that God has for you and wants to accomplish through you.

Point to Ponder
• Failure to align accurately with God’s will per time affects not only you, but also others connected to you.

Prayer
Lord, please help me to see myself as You see me, so that I may humbly walk with You and fulfil all Your will.

Victory Verse
“For by the grace [of God] given to me I say to everyone of you not to think more highly of himself [and of his importance and ability] than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith [and a purpose designed for service].” Romans 12:3 (‭AMP)‬‬‬‬

The Things You Must Do

Monday, 25th May 2026

“And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”” Luke‬ 19:5‬ (NKJV)‬‬

As with Jesus, there are things that you must do; things that every day align you with God’s blueprint for your life, so that you may have the joy of living a purposeful life, and of doing your part to establish the bigger picture of God’s Kingdom agenda in the earth.

Jesus said that He must stay at the house of Zaccheus despite his unsavoury reputation, for that was the day of salvation for him and his entire household. Another instance that underscores the need to be diligent to know the things we must do is when Jesus, returning to Galilee from Judea, had to go through Samaria – territory hostile to the Jews – to get there. The King James Version of the Bible records: “he left Judæa, and departed again into Galilee. And he must needs go through Samaria” (John ‭4‬:‭3-‭4‬). Jesus had to go through Samaria, because it had been pre-determined that He should meet a woman at a well there, who would get saved, take the Good News to the whole city, and lead many others to Him.‬‬‬

What things must you do today, tomorrow, and every day? What good works have been pre-ordained for you to walk in? What is written concerning you in the volume of the Book that you must get done today, or must be doing at this time?

It is your responsibility to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to live in line with God’s will for you. You were created to play a significant role; to live the blessed life that is yours in Christ, be a blessing to others, and do your part in establishing God’s Kingdom in the earth.

Point to Ponder
• God has not left you here to figure out His will for you all by yourself. Seek the ever-present help of the Holy Spirit every step of the way.

Prayer
Father, please show me what Your will requires I must do today. Then, Holy Spirit, please help me do it.

Victory Verse
“For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Ephesians (‭2:10 (‭AMPC) ‬‬

Keep the Faith Switch On

Saturday, 23rd May 2026

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Hebrews 6:12 (NIV)

As children of God, we have been called to live by faith. This doesn’t mean living our lives depending on luck or just hoping that things will turn out right; it is living with absolute certainty that we will receive and experience the things that God has shown us in His Word are already ours through the finished work of Christ. There is a dimension of the faith walk, however, that is often overlooked – the necessity of patience.

The way faith has sometimes been taught almost makes it seem as if when what we believe God for doesn’t manifest instantly, we’re not in faith. While many of the things we trust God for can happen that way, there are others we must wait a while for. The challenge then becomes whether we can keep believing while we wait.

Your responsibility is to believe God’s Word and stand on it until it becomes your experiential reality, no matter how long it takes. Don’t let go of His Word, don’t turn off the switch of faith. God’s Word never fails. He can be trusted to keep His promises.

Point to Ponder
• What have you been trusting and believing God for that you have begun to think may no longer happen, because it seems to be taking a long time? You need to flip the switch of faith back on and keep it on.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your Word, which I can trust absolutely. Please help me to wait patiently as I believe for its full manifestation in my life in all areas. In Jesus’ name.

Victory Verse
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV)

Do Not Fear

Friday, 22nd May 2026

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Life today can be overwhelming. With the demands of modern life, if you’re not careful, you’re constantly busy trying to meet up with deadlines and commitments. Research indicates that the global prevalence of anxiety disorders rose significantly over the last three decades. There are many reasons for this of course, but it is clear that generally speaking, people are now more anxious and worried about life than before. This is not how God wants His children to live.

While we are not to deny or ignore the demands that life places on us, we’re not supposed to allow ourselves to be weighed down by them. We were not designed to stress and obsess over what could go wrong in our lives and how the future will turn out. On the contrary, we were created to rely on God and to let Him show us what to do from moment to moment and day to day, to fulfil His purposes for us.

Jesus was in a boat that was being buffeted by the stormy wind and the waves, yet He slept soundly and would have continued to sleep, if His disciples hadn’t woken Him up in fear. Why could He do that? He was confident in the One who sent Him and the Word He had spoken. When we face life’s challenges, God expects us to trust Him by taking His Word to heart and obeying whatever He tells us to do.

Don’t let anxiety, fear or worry rule your life. Instead, fill your heart and mind with God’s Word and fix your thoughts on it. He will see you through the storm and land you safely on the other side, every time.

Point to Ponder
• Have you been trying to bear life’s burdens by yourself when God has promised to do so for you, and carry you through every storm?

Prayer
Precious Father, please help me trust You absolutely, to be with me in every storm and to bear every burden and anxiety for me. Teach me to rest in Your loving care. In Jesus’ name.

Victory Verse
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)
