Passion for God’s Presence

Monday, 5th October 2026

"Here's the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer." Psalm 27:4 (TPT)

In the depths of our souls, there resides a profound yearning; a desire for something greater, something beyond the ordinary, something divine. It is not a fleeting whim, but a passionate craving that surpasses all other desires. It is an acknowledgment that nothing in this world can satisfy the depths of our souls like being in the presence of our loving Heavenly Father. Our life is made complete only when we abide with Him.

In God's presence, you encounter the sweet loveliness of His face – the fullness of His glory, the radiance of His love and the beauty of His grace. It's a place of intimacy where you see Him not as a distant deity, but as a loving Father, revealing Himself to you through His Word, His creation, and the intimate whispers of His Spirit, drawing you near with arms of compassion. It is in His presence that you find true delight and satisfaction.

There is no higher calling, no greater honour.

Being in God’s presence, in constant communion with Him – not sporadic visits but a lifestyle defined by intimacy and surrender to Him, thus becoming His dwelling place and vessel of His love, peace and joy – is the greatest quest you can embark upon as a Believer. Nothing, not gold, silver, fame or accolades from men, compares to this.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, ignite within me a passionate desire for Your presence. Help me to seek You above all else and to find ultimate joy in dwelling in Your presence.

Let Him Lead You

For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:14 (AMP)

In recent times there has been a preponderance of ‘preachers’ and ‘teachers’ who have unduly emphasised spectacular personal experiences as a way of being led by God. A consequence of this is that many Believers now think that unless they have spectacular spiritual experiences, such as visions and dreams, they’re not being led by God. While God can and does lead sometimes in spectacular ways, that’s not the primary way He leads His children. Our Scripture reference today shows us that just by being a child of God, you can be sure that you are led by God. Our desire, therefore, should be to become more sensitive to the leading of His Spirit so we can align with His will, and not seek to be led only by spectacular manifestations.

The primary way God leads His children is by His word. As we read, study, and meditate upon the Bible, His Spirit within us speaks to our spirit and shows us what we need to know and do. He could choose to speak to us by visions, dreams, or any other spectacular means, but it will never contradict what is written in His Word.

We also need to be careful not to seek the spectacular, because we could inadvertently open ourselves up to satanic deception. An unhealthy desire for such experiences, motivated by a desire to boast or be seen as spiritual by others, leads people in the wrong direction, away from what God wants them to do.

Don’t feel pressured to impress anyone with your spirituality. If you have received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you are a child of God and you can be led by His Spirit, as you yield to Him. Just do your best to cultivate a lifestyle of constantly deepening your fellowship with God, anchored in His word and prayer, and you will experience the joy of following the leading of His Spirit daily.

Point to Ponder
• The Spirit of God leads you because you are truly His child. Therefore, submit yourself daily to His leading in all areas.

Prayer
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for giving me Your Spirit to live in me and lead me. Help me deliberately submit to His leading and so enjoy all You have for me.

Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Galatians 5:25 (NLT)
