The Things You Must Do
Monday, 25th May 2026
“And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”” Luke 19:5 (NKJV)
As with Jesus, there are things that you must do; things that every day align you with God’s blueprint for your life, so that you may have the joy of living a purposeful life, and of doing your part to establish the bigger picture of God’s Kingdom agenda in the earth.
Jesus said that He must stay at the house of Zaccheus despite his unsavoury reputation, for that was the day of salvation for him and his entire household. Another instance that underscores the need to be diligent to know the things we must do is when Jesus, returning to Galilee from Judea, had to go through Samaria – territory hostile to the Jews – to get there. The King James Version of the Bible records: “he left Judæa, and departed again into Galilee. And he must needs go through Samaria” (John 4:3-4). Jesus had to go through Samaria, because it had been pre-determined that He should meet a woman at a well there, who would get saved, take the Good News to the whole city, and lead many others to Him.
What things must you do today, tomorrow, and every day? What good works have been pre-ordained for you to walk in? What is written concerning you in the volume of the Book that you must get done today, or must be doing at this time?
It is your responsibility to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to live in line with God’s will for you. You were created to play a significant role; to live the blessed life that is yours in Christ, be a blessing to others, and do your part in establishing God’s Kingdom in the earth.
Point to Ponder
• God has not left you here to figure out His will for you all by yourself. Seek the ever-present help of the Holy Spirit every step of the way.
Prayer
Father, please show me what Your will requires I must do today. Then, Holy Spirit, please help me do it.
Victory Verse
“For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Ephesians (2:10 (AMPC)
Today is a gift; don’t let it go to waste.
