GOD SPEAKS ON THE CONTROVERSIAL ACTION OF PASTOR W. F. KUMUYI ON CMI PROGRAM HELD AT PORT-HARCOURT, NIGERIA.

I had a dream on 1st September, 2024. This dream occupied my sleep throughout the night. In the dream, I saw myself as a minister in Deeper Life Bible Church, pastoring under Pastor W. F. Kumuyi, and serving with my wife in the Ministry.
In the dream, a new policy came from Pastor W. F. Kumuyi to the ministers in Deeper Life. The policy showed that there would henceforth be two pastors, pastoring the same church, and these two pastors would share one wife in love-making. When one finishes with the woman, the other pastor could also sleep with her and that would not be a moral offence to God.
The scene actually played out practically before me in the dream. A pastor was posted to the same church I was pastoring. After love-making to my wife, this pastor came and took her for a romance to prepare her in order to make love to her also.
When I observed this, I said to myself, ‘This thing that came from Pastor W. F. Kumuyi cannot be from the Lord. Although Pastor W. F. Kumuyi is highly honoured for righteousness and truth, I will tell my wife not to agree to this policy. I will advise her that we should give the matter sufficient time for God to speak on it. I know surely that God would speak against this policy.’ I reasoned in the dream: I and my wife have been one flesh. How can somebody come and still fit in after many years of marriage between us?
When I woke up in the morning, I discovered that this dream occupied me for a long time in my sleep. I considered sharing it with my wife, Sister Linda, who was lying down on the bed. After narrating the dream to her, she rose up quickly and sat on the bed. I could not tell what informed her action. Then, she said, ‘God has given me the interpretation of your dream. The Lord told me that Pastor W. F. Kumuyi has made Deeper Life Bible Church to commit adultery.’ I could not understand immediately what that meant. My mind went to what he did in the past (bringing unholy people in jewelries and without head coverings etc. to minister in his crusades). When he began to do those things in the global crusades, the Lord Jesus in a revelation lamented to me saying my father in the Lord had disappointed Him, because that was a great attack against the holiness ministry. My wife too did not understand the meaning of the adultery Pastor Kumuyi made Deeper Life Bible Church to commit. This is because she did not know about the latest information on what Pastor Kumuyi did.
That same day in the afternoon, a pastor asked me if I had heard what people were saying concerning what pastor Kumuyi did recently, and I said no. He told me that the media was filled with what he did recently as narrated below:
"The founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has finally unveiled his rationale for inviting Muslim clerics to speak on his pulpit at the church conference.
Kumuyi made this known while preaching on Monday, during his revolutionary Change Makers International (CMI) conference at the General Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt in Rivers State of Nigeria.
DAILY POST reports that the pictures of Muslim clerics with caps speaking from the church pulpit at the ongoing conference have ignited a wildfire of chatter and set tongues wagging across social media.
Reacting to the controversies in a now-viral video, pastor Kumuyi explained that he made the decision because the conference was held in a stadium and not within the church’s hallowed walls."
He said: “People were asking, Pastor WF, what are you looking at, look at that man having his cap on. Yes, we are in the stadium, we are not in the church building, and so I do not have to challenge him, for having his cap on.”
After I had heard this story in the day, I told my wife about the news in the night of that same day I had the dream. I and my wife searched on the internet and got the details of the event as presented in the video we watched on YouTube. Then I understood the interpretation of my dream; why the Lord called that act adultery. It is because Deeper Life Bible Church members were the majority in the congregation and they are the people pastor W. F. Kumuyi pastors. Deeper Life Bible Church is a wife Pastor Kumuyi espoused to Jesus, her husband:
2 Corinthians 11:2-4
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
When Christians occupy an auditorium, it is considered to be a church and the presence of the Lord is there among them.
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there Am I in the midst of them.
Christians that came to that programme came because of Pastor Kumuyi and because of Jesus, who purchased Pastor Kumuyi for Himself and for gospel work. It was believed by the believers that came there that Pastor Kumuyi was rendering a service to God in that meeting. Pastor Kumuyi can never do anything outside the gospel work, because Christ bought him for Himself and for the gospel work. That congregation was actually gathered in the name of the Lord and nothing more or less.
1 Corinthians 6:19, 20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
The Muslims that were brought to that congregation belong to another lord, Mohammed. To bring them to the church and to the pulpit before believers in Christ in their regalia and spirit to address the congregation and glorify Islam in the name of peace-making, is to present to the Church another lord and another gospel, according to the scripture above. I heard Pastor Kumuyi directly saying that the occasion was not for soul-winning or to bring people to the church of Jesus; that is to say, the meeting was not a gospel meeting. Let him not say so as a servant of Christ, based on the doctrinal truths expressed in the following scriptures:
(i) Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
As a servant of Christ, Christ is the one living in his life. Can Jesus organize such a meeting that has nothing to do with the salvation of souls and the growth of the Church?
(ii) 1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Colossians 3:17
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
The above scripture is the commandment Pastor W. F. Kumuyi has received from the Lord. What gives glory to God is salvation of sinners through faith in Christ Jesus and making them disciples in the church of Christ and bringing them to the church where they can be established through the teaching of the word of God. Every act of Pastor Kumuyi, in word or in deed, must be done in the Name of the Lord Jesus and for His glory. To say he organized a programme that is not for the salvation of souls is an offence to the Master that owns him.
(iii) John 6:38, 40
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.
40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jesus Christ came to this world to do the will of the Father that sent Him. The will of the Father is that people should know Jesus and believe in Him so that they may have eternal life. This is the commission given to Pastor Kumuyi. If he desires to do the will of God as Jesus the Master did, to bring about a ministry (CMI) that has nothing to do with the salvation of souls, nor bring people to the Church of Christ is clearly not the will of God.
As a servant of Jesus, Pastor Kumuyi cannot do anything outside the will of God that sent him, and the will of God is that people should know Jesus and believe in Him in order to have everlasting life. For Pastor Kumuyi to stand before a congregation which he used God’s money to organize and say it was not for the purpose of making people to know and believe in Jesus for their eternal life, shows that he is no longer doing the will of God by that ministry (CMI). That is to say he did not organize that programme to do the will of God, but his own will. Surely, CMI is not the will of God! Let all Christians know this. If it were, it would have been for soul-winning, to make people believe in Jesus and inherit eternal life. But to declare openly that the programme was not for the gospel, was a grievous error to be repented of by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi and to be mourned by Deeper Christian Life Ministry and the entire Church of Christ.
(iv) Acts 10:36
The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (He is Lord of all).
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Pastor Kumuyi is not called by God to preach peace among men through any other means or anyone except through Jesus Christ. Believers are not called to preach the peace of the world but the peace of Christ. If Pastor Kumuyi has a message of peace to preach among men in the world, of all tribes, nations, races and religions, it is the peace that is in Christ Jesus by which men are reconciled back to God to live in His righteousness. His message and ministry is bound by this truth. He cannot preach peace outside Christ and call that a service done to God.
(v) John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Pastor E. A. Adeboye pioneered a strange ministry in the Body of Christ. According to him, the Lord had called him to bring men of all tribes, nations, races and religions to unity for the purpose of peaceful co-existence of human beings on earth. In this regard, he organizes meetings where people of various religions gather together in the name of peaceful co-existence in the global world as demanded by the United Nations. This is not the calling of God for Christian ministers and believers in Christ. The peace of Jesus is different from the peace of the world, and we are called to preach the peace Jesus gives and not the peace the world gives through vain philosophies.
Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
(vi) Galatians 2:11-14
11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.
14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
Pastor Kumuyi has raised up righteous children and ministers of the gospel with high reputation in the knowledge of the word of God and the life of true righteousness and holiness. These are ready to withstand him at any costly deviation as Apostle Paul withstood Apostle Peter when compromise was noticed in him to the detriment of the gospel truth that abided forever.
We must speak against these things Pastor Kumuyi is doing because Christianity is not for him alone, but for all believers in the world, and we must not allow him to spoil the church. Apostle Paul did not allow it in Apostle Peter. This error of Pastor Kumuyi was done publicly and has affected many in the gospel (sinners and believers alike). In passionate love for my Lord Jesus and for the gospel truth, I feel obliged to write this piece to the public to rescue as many as have been affected by that action.
(vii) James 2:1
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
Some people may blame me for speaking this way concerning my father in the Lord, Pastor Kumuyi, under whose ministry I had served for 26 years as a Pastor, a Region overseer, a State Overseer and a National Overseer, until the Lord called me to run the ministry, Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide, non-denominational, about 15 years ago. I recognize and honour Pastor W. F. Kumuyi, my father in the Lord, and speak here before God with all humility and love for him. I am one of those the Lord has raised up to pray always for him. I feel the pain of his errors more than many people, because the Lord Jesus mourns always over him before me (I speak by revelation). Let the Deeper Life Church as well as all other churches arise in prayers for our beloved father and mentor, Pastor W. F. Kumuyi for God’s sufficient grace in this end time of his life and ministry.
