INTRODUCTION
The events following the COVID-19 pandemic have created overturns in all areas of life. The world is going through tough times, but as believers with a sound knowledge of how the kingdom of God works, our Tough Times would be to our upliftment as designed by God.
Somebody may say, if God is so loving: gracious and merciful; slow to anger and abounding in mercy; does not deal with us according to our sins, but pities those who fear Him, then, more things ought to be going in my favour than it is right now! On that, I will say, you are right! But you have to be persistent and consistent in asking and your faith has to be strong too.
In Mt 15v21-29, the Syrophoenician woman against all odds and sheer determination, got what she wanted from a reluctant Christ. Christ’s mandate was to the house of Israel. The Lord having established that He was only sent to the lost sheep (children) of the house of Israel, which was the scope of His mandate, lovingly and creatively introduced a favourable dimension of the children having little dogs they care about, and cater for, in order to connect the non-Jewish Syrophoenician woman to the household of Israel.
You see, if you love God and walk in His love, nothing can ever disqualify you from receiving any good thing from Him, when you call on His name. He ensures all things work together for your good.
V27: And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Glory be to God! The woman understood the analogy and saw the Grace and the mercy of the Lord extended to her, where the un-enlightened would have felt insulted.
V28: Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your Faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. In other words, she had fulfilled all the requirements of faith to access the supernatural that she desired.
The word of God is deep and mysterious. That's why God asks you to meditate on His word. Jesus through meditation and inspiration of God found a space for a non-Israelite within the mandate of the household of Israel given to Him by God, without any violation. Likewise, through the revelation of Jesus, a Syrophoenician woman found the needed connection to where she had no roots.
Faith therefore, does not only come from what is written, but from the implications and adaptations of what is written. The Syrophoenician woman received what she was not entitled to, not because of her deep spirituality, but because of the revelation she had received through meditation of what she knew of the Lord. It is written, "In Him (the Word) was life, and the life was the light of men. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
STEPS TO GIVING BIRTH TO THE
SUPERNATURAL
1. Establish through the word of God, that, what you desire is already done or could be done, in the light of what Christ has done. This is a very important aspect in receiving the supernatural.
2. Meditate on what the word says concerning your situation right now, and gain conviction (by His stripes you are healed; None shall be barren in the land; Peace I leave with you...; He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us...).
3. Jesus Christ said, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." Go ahead and ask now.
4. The Lord Himself said, "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. So if you believe you receive them, then you will give thanks and even worship. Just feel free to relate with your God in your capacity.
