A TRUE WITNESS

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1John 1:3 During court sessions, witnesses are usually called to testify for, or against someone in an ongoing case. Those witnesses are expected to state the truth as they know it: what they had seen, heard, or believed to be true. As in the secular, so it is in the spiritual. Christ's ministry was embedded with preaching, teaching, and healing, which brought salvation from sin, cure, deliverance, and hope for the hopeless. Acts 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: His death and resurrection broke the power of Satan and brought justification to all who believed. Christians are beneficiaries of these great things; so, they are in a position to invite others to experience true salvation from sin. Satan comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy but Jesus has come to give life in abundance. John 10:10 He gives rest to those who are laboring and under heavy burdens. Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. He gives eternal life to those who believe in Him. John 3:16 Believers are to witness Christ and His coming kingdom. Endless glory awaits all who faithfully follow Christ as true witnesses. Be and remain a true witness and an ambassador in Jesus name.

SPIRITUAL DEATH

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Revelation 3:1. Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon. But no Christian is abandoned at the moment of death. The angels are the ushers, and our passage to heaven is under their es**rt. It is a transition to a higher state of consciousness. Sin easily unmasks its perpetrator. The flesh is a major albatross to the believer's journey to heaven. It is said to be 'contrary' to the Spirit and prevents one from living a righteous life. It produces lusts, which if yielded to, lead to sin; and sin, after it is committed, leads to death - spiritual death. We are advised to walk in the Spirit in order not to fulfill the desires of the flesh. As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death. The sin of the flesh is dangerous because of its perilous appeal. Proverbs 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his soul. The earlier sin is acknowledged, confessed, and repented of, the better and safer. No one can hide sin forever no matter the effort to silence the conscience. May the Lord help us in Jesus' name.

WE OUGHT TO OBEY GOD

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29. Don’t worry when you meet opposition to obeying God. But worry when you don’t have opposition because you’re probably not obeying God. True success is obeying God. 2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; God has always worked wonders through His prophets to increase the faith of His chosen people or to correct their disobedience. Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Obedience is an act of faith; disobedience is the result of unbelief. All men without grace are prone to disobeying God. As many refuse to heed the admonition to watch what they eat and drink; even so is it the creed of man to wantonly disobey God's laws and commandments? This they do to their peril. If a righteous man engages in an unrighteous cause, he should not expect to prosper. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. God is no respecter of persons. Whenever you are confused about what decision to take, consult Him. In minor, medium, and major events, never fail to seek His counsel. Beware! Disobedience begets God's indignation.

PRAY FOR OTHERS

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. Proverbs 11:25. When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance. Spiritual fathers and elders have often been instrumental through prayers for the maturing and perfecting of wobbling and, at times, erring believers. For the Galatian Christians, Paul had to travail in birth again, until Christ was formed in them. Galatians 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you. Abraham interceded for S***m and the safety of his estranged nephew, Lot. Samuel told the children of Israel, "God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you": 1 Samuel 12:23. The leaders in the early church gave themselves continually to prayer. Act 6:4. Believers must ensure they pray for one another especially now that the activities of Satan and his agents are on the increase. God's people ought to take Christ's teaching, that men ought always to pray and not to faint more seriously. Luke 18:1 Instead of complaining that the brethren are not living up to expectations. Our Fervent prayers will certainly bring a solution to the lukewarm and lethargic brethren around us. May the Lord kindle the fire of intercessory prayer in us in Jesus' name.

YES IT MATTERS

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Proverbs 24:10. Yes, it does matter a lot to God if we fail in any task He asks us to perform. He expects us to follow His brief all through without deviating. Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. He expects 100% completion of any job He hands over to His servants, since on His part He will not fail to kit us with all we need to succeed. James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Moses had all it would take to get water from the rock at Kadesh to quench the thirst of millions of Israelites. Numbers 20:8 Take the rod and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes, and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. The Lord did not instruct him to use the rod. He was only to speak to the rock, “and it shall give forth his water”. But Moses, driven by anger due to the incontinence of the assembly, got into trouble as he struck the rock and gave the impression of unbelief, which made God unhappy. Therefore, he was disallowed from reaching the Promised Land for his error. Deuteronomy 3:26 But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter. Leaders are to be doubly watchful in the assignments they receive from the Lord. You must constantly control your temper so you don't feed your emotions with self-will. Emotions serve us better when controlled, not when they control us. May the Lord help us in Jesus' name.

VICTORY AHEAD

And Gideon came to Jordan and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them. Judges 8:4. The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. Great men rejoice in adversity, just as brave soldiers triumph in war. But you must always remember to be calm in adversity. We live in a world that opposes God. Despises everything God has ordained for humanity, yet, the world pitched into a lifelong battle with believers for taking sides with God. Most times, the battle is so fierce that hard-pressed believers no longer feel the nearness of God. As a result, they begin to doubt their chance of triumphing over the devil, their implacable enemy. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In the face of trials, we should learn not to trust in our own devices, but put our trust in God. He will not abandon us to face the struggles alone, nor allow the enemy to triumph over us. In adversity, remember to keep an even mind. It is human to be scared in the face of danger, especially through the onslaught of the devil, but we must trust God to intervene on our behalf and grant us daily victory. You're a victor in Jesus' name. Amen. Don't give up, your victory is ahead. I wish you a victorious day ahead in Jesus name.

NO MORE DOUBT

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. Genesis 12:1,4. There may be obstacles, but don't let doubt distract you. Doubters don't always win. Faith precedes the miracle. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh has come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. Genesis 6:13, 14. It was not raining when Noah was commanded to build an ark. There was no visible ram in the thicket when Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac. Two heavenly personages were not yet seen when Joseph knelt and prayed. First came the test of faith–and then the miracle. Doubt comes to the door in darkness, pretending to be alone and in need of your compassionate ear. But if you let him in, he'll bring his friends. Faith and doubt cannot exist in the same mind at the same time, for one will dispel the other. Cast out a doubt, cultivate faith, and remain blessed in Jesus' name.

GOD'S BOUNDLESS MERCY

When Jesus had lifted himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more. John 8:10,11. God's mercy is boundless and free, and it is made available through Jesus Christ our Lord to all. The mercy of God is all-embracing, breaking down the barriers man erects. Our prayer and God's mercy are like two buckets in a well; while one ascends the other descends. The tender Mercy of God has given us a great opportunity to live for Him this day again. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. The thief who received the kingdom of heaven, though not as the reward of virtue, is a true witness to the fact that salvation is ours through the grace and mercy of God. Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. I welcome you to a new day of God's mercy, draw closer to Him, and be eternally blessed in Jesus' name.

BELIEVE GOD

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. Faith is to believe what you do not see. God is faithful, He does everything He says. Doubts and unbelief do not change His faithfulness. Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach thy finger hither, and behold my hands; and reach thy hand hither, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. John 20:27. God is faithful regardless of our experiences and feelings. An understanding of this truth and making decisions based on it will bring many blessings. Difficult things become easy when we act on the understanding that God is faithful to all His promises. You do not need to feel it before you believe God's word. Do you know that Jesus saves from all sins and gives victory over temptation, Satan, sickness, failure, and every work of the devil? You must believe that God is faithful to all His promises, and it shall be confirmed in your life. Romans 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Dear Lord, help us to believe all your promises and obey you at all times in Jesus' Name.

A FATHER FIGURE

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Genesis 18:19. Real fathers are to build homes where God sits on the throne of every heart. Real Fathers make a difference in families and society. That difference depends on the nature of the father involved. Genesis 35:2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: You must make a positive difference as a real father. God Himself testified that Abraham was a good and responsible father. He not only prayed with, but also instructed his household: wife, children, and servants in the way of the Lord. God expects fathers to be priests in their respective families like Abraham. To play this role acceptably, closeness to God is essential. Fathers are to reflect God’s character to their households as no man can elevate the spirituality of his family beyond his own. They are to be fond but firm, caring but courageous, patient but positive. Is God pleased with how you are running your home or raising your children? Are you only desirous of giving them the best education and worldly wealth but little or no practical Christianity that leads to heaven? Are you a real father? May the Lord help us in Jesus' name

A JOYFUL LIFE

Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. Isiah 51:11. Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God. The surest sign that God is alive in you is joy. Joy is not necessarily the absence of suffering, it is the presence of God. There is a joy available that the deepest grief cannot put out. No circumstance or person can take away the joy that God gives. Your sorrow itself shall be turned into joy. Not the sorrow to be taken away, and joy to be put in its place, but the very sorrow which now grieves you shall be turned into joy. Everything given to God can become your gateway to joy. God not only takes away the bitterness and gives sweetness in its place, but turns the bitterness into sweetness itself. Just hold on, for God has promised to appoint unto those that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. Isaiah 61:4. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5.
