CALL FOR NATIONAL PRAYER AND FASTING
The Most Rev'd Dr. Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba, Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, has approved a three-day period of prayer and fasting across the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) in response to the numerous challenges confronting our nation and the Church.
All Provinces, Dioceses, Archdeaconries, Deaneries, Parishes, Mission Stations, Prayer Ministries, and faithful members are hereby requested to participate actively.
The period of prayer and fasting shall be observed as follows:
Date: Friday, 19 June – Sunday, 21 June 2026
Time: Morning and/or Evening, according to local arrangements.
As we observe the increasing insecurity across the nation, the persistent abduction of innocent citizens, acts of violence and terrorism, economic hardship, public health concerns, and other challenges affecting our people, we are called as God's people to seek His face for mercy, protection, healing, peace, and national renewal.
All Church units are encouraged to organise prayer gatherings during this period and mobilise members to participate fully. *The observance of Fathers' Day on Sunday, 21 June 2026, should also incorporate prayers for the Church and the Nation.*
Let us unite in faith and earnest intercession, trusting God to intervene in the affairs of our nation and grant peace, security, healing, and prosperity to our land.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)
