Hello brethren,
Has it ever come to mind how liberal our God is with us and that is affecting the way we handle divine tasks given to us.
In John 21:17, Jesus asked Peter the third time, Peter son of Jonas, lovest thou me?
Peter's proclamation was Lord thou knowest all things, thou knowest that I love thee. I'm sure when we are asked the same question, we will surely declare that we love God but how do we express our love for God when after declaring our love for Him, we will step out the next minute as though we have forgotten the declaration made and begin to do the otherwise just like Peter who after declaring his love for the master , the moment the master left the first thing he could think of was to go a fishing, the same profession he left since he met Jesus, he forgot Jesus asked him to "feed my sheep" he said he was going a fishing John21:3 and the others followed him, do you see how we distract others from the way the Lord is leading them to? guess what? They never caught a fish through out that night because he was engaged in an activity that the Lord does not approve. You cannot serve two masters (self and Jesus), you must choose which path you want to follow Matthew 6:24 and remember also ye are bought with a price 1Cor.7:23
Have you abandoned the work God called you to do and you are engaged with the things that gives you personal pleasure? It's time to retrace your steps back to the original plan of God for your life so that you can experience that divine turn around you seek after...
Do not allow self to drag you to the mud, this is what I love doing most and I must continue in it, Jesus loves you first and knows you better than you know yourself, He knows what's best for you, that which will profit you and give you a n opportunity to escape from the destruction that is coming Luke 21:36, 1Cor.10:13.
The Bible says the heart of man is desperately wicked, Jeremiah 17:9. Do not trust man neither the world, they will only lead you astray, trust only in God . Matthew 7:11 says if ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Since we ask amiss because our hearts is full of selfish desires, He who knows better is offering us a greater gift of salvation that helps us to forsake the things we used to do and now that we are in Christ we become new creatures in Christ to do only those things that pleases Him, that is the first cleansing, after being cleansed from outward sin we now proceed to cleansing the inward sin, that of "self" through which we can escape from the destruction that is to come after those who are disobedient Heb. 2:3
When we declare our love for someone we do everything to please that person, we trust in total, the same is expected of us in our walk with God. We are on a journey where we know not where we are going, we need to stick to the Lord which is abiding in His love so that He can lead us through John15:4. You cannot be a child of God and you expect Satan to lead you to your place of blessing because of that you allow Satan/self to take control of your actions, how is that possible? It means you are contradicting your self. I see some people say they are born again yet they engage in telling lies, cheating other people to gain more wealth, collecting bribes, adjusting scales, creating discord among the brethren, keeping malice, fighting, gossiping and the likes, who are they deceiving? Themselves not God or anyone of us. You must be true to your statement to prove your love for Christ. Peter lovest thou me, he said yes but the self was still dragging him to go a fishing so that at the slightest opportunity he ran into it and came out with nothing. When he came back to the Lord he did great exploits in God's kingdom, I urge you to follow the Lord so that you can do greater exploits than Peter just like St.Paul who did more than the apostles were able to accomplish in their life time. When you obey the Lord, He will begin to open your eyes to enable you see the good things He has in store for you, these are opportunities you can't see when you are still lost in the world, repent and be born again so you can see the Lord on the last day. Jesus is love, kind, forgiving, patient, obedient, humble, slow to anger, etc. The same we should be to show the world the way to life, choose wisely now that you have the opportunity so you don't miss your chances to make it bigger in life...
Good morning and God bless you!
