‎WHEN THE CHURCH PRAYED, PETER LIVED.

‎In Acts 12, King Herod killed James with the sword.
‎
‎When he saw that it pleased the people, he arrested Peter also, intending to do the same.
‎
‎But something changed.
‎
‎The Bible says:
‎“Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” Acts 12:5
‎
‎The church gathered.
‎The church prayed.
‎God intervened.
‎
‎Peter was not lost.
‎
‎Today, many families in Nigeria are crying because of kidnapping, killings, violence, fear, and pain.

‎You are trying to hold your home together, trying to keep the peace, trying to be strong for everyone.

‎But deep down, you know:
‎I cannot do this by my strength alone.
‎
‎➡️ Some homes right now are under pressure.
‎➡️ Misunderstanding.

THE SILENT DESTROYER IN MANY HOMES.

“We don’t have any problem… we just don’t talk again.”

That was what Amaka told her friend one afternoon.

From the outside, her home looked fine.
No fighting. No shouting. No drama.

But inside… something was missing.

Her husband comes back from work, eats, presses his phone, and sleeps.
She talks… he nods.
He asks questions… she gives short answers.

No insults.
No quarrels.
Just silence.

Their children have noticed too.
Everyone stays in their corner.

Same house, but different worlds.

One day, their little son asked:
“Mummy, why don’t you and daddy talk like before?”

That question broke her.

Because she realized that, a home does not have to be noisy to be broken.
Sometimes, it is the silence, that is the problem.

Poor communication is a silent destroyer in many homes today.

Not lack of love.
Not lack of money.

But lack of understanding, connection, and healthy conversation.

HAPPENING THIS THURSDAY 🔥

Many homes look fine on the outside…
but inside, there is confusion, silence, and lack of direction.

God’s design for the family is far greater than what many are experiencing today.

A home is meant to be a place where:
• God’s presence is real
• peace is established
• purpose is discovered
• and every member grows spiritually

This Thursday, we will be praying on:

“Restoring God’s Presence and Purpose in Our Homes”

Because God already revealed His plan in the Book of Joel 2:28:

He will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh…
sons and daughters will prophesy,
old men will dream dreams,
and young men will see visions.

This means every member of the family has a role in God’s plan.

What is the greatest challenge facing families today?

Most people think marriage exists for only two reasons:
Companionship and procreation.

But that is not the full picture.

When God brings a man and a woman together, He is not just forming a relationship, He is establishing a mission.

Every family on earth was meant to carry a divine purpose.

Two people coming together is not only about living in the same house, raising children, and paying bills.

It is about building a home that fulfills a heavenly assignment.

A family can become a place where:
• destinies are discovered
• children are raised with vision
• purpose is nurtured
• and God’s voice is heard

Many homes struggle today because the purpose of their union was never understood.

When purpose is missing, marriage becomes ordinary.
But when purpose is discovered, a family becomes a force for transformation.

The promise in the Book of Joel 2:28 reveals God’s heart for families, that sons and daughters will grow to carry His Spirit and walk in vision.

This is why homes must become places where purpose is taught and destiny is nurtured.

Marriage is not just about two people finding happiness.

It is about two destinies joining together to fulfill God's mandate.

Many parents provide food, clothing, and pay school fees for their children.

But many forget to prepare them for destiny.

Education can give a child knowledge, but it does not automatically give direction for life.

A child must also be taught strategic living, how to think about the future, how to make wise decisions, how to understand purpose, and how to build character.

If children only grow with information but without purpose, they may succeed academically yet still feel lost in life.

God’s desire for families goes beyond raising children who simply go to school and get jobs.

According to the promise in the Book of Joel 2:28, God said that in the last days sons and daughters will prophesy and young men will see visions.

This means children are not only meant to be educated; they are meant to grow with spiritual understanding, vision, and purpose.

Parents therefore must not only prepare children for exams.
They must prepare them for life, character, and destiny.

A revived home is a place where children learn:
• how to pray and have a relationship with God.
• how to think wisely
• how to discover their purpose
• how to build strong character

My question to you today is, are you only preparing your children for school, or you are also preparing them for destiny?
