TOPIC: THE DANGERS OF PRIDE

SCRIPTURE : Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. (Proverbs 16:18-19)

*FOOD FOR THOUGHT* : A crash is inevitable when pride is in view.

Our anchor scripture reveals that there is an easy way to know that a man is about to be destroyed, and that is when pride is noticed in his character and conduct. (Verse 19)of our anchor Scripture says, "Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lonely than to divide the spoil with the proud".

It is better to be humble and lonely than to have wealth as a proud person, because such wealth has no future. A crash is inevitable when pride is in view.

The Scripture makes it clear in (Proverbs 29:23) that, A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. It does not matter how highly placed a man is today, he will be brought down low if pride dominates his character. But if a person is humble in spirit, honour shall uphold him.

(Isaiah 28:1) says, Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

Any crown, elevation, promotion, or position that makes anyone proud will bring them a curse.

I recall a story about a young man who was a member of a church. God began to use him to perform miracles, signs, and wonders with blind eyes seeing, deaf ears hearing, and so on.

However, after a while, he stopped coming to church. When he stopped attending church, people asked him why he wasn’t coming to church.

His response will shock you. He replied, “Which church? Do blind eyes see when 'that pastor' prays?" He was referring to his pastor as ‘that pastor.’

Unfortunately, his mismanagement of the gift of God turned him into a beast. Not long after that, he became a drunkard and ran mad at the frequency of pride.

The very demons he had cast out returned and ruined him.

Beloved, pride disconnects people from the Presence of God.

Lucifer was cast down from heaven because of pride. When you are full of self, you become empty of God. The question now is, if God is absent from your life, what is your future?

REMEMBER THIS: A crash is inevitable when pride is in view.

ASSIGNMENT(S)
1. Go through today’s message again.

2. Ask God for the grace to remain humble in the face of elevation and promotion in life.

PRAYER: Father, I acknowledge that there is nothing I have that I did not receive from You.

Help me to live with the consciousness that I am nothing without You, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: REDEEMED FROM THE CLAIMS OF THE ENEMY

SCRIPTURE: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ.(1 Peter 1:18-19)

*FOOD FOR THOUGHT* : We are God’s creature, and we are His purchased possession.

There is an interesting story about a fisher man who took his time to create a little boat. He was using the precious little boat with all pleasure and would anchor the boat on the seashore after use.

But then something unexpected happened: one day, a strong wind came, cut off the anchor, and the little boat got lost in the sea. Another fisherman saw the little boat somewhere, took it and sold it to someone else. Then a boat dealer bought it, displayed it in his shop for sale.

The owner of the little boat never gave up his quest to recover his once cherished possession. It wasn’t that he could not make another boat, but he had an emotional attachment to the little boat.

Fortunately, he heard that a boat that looked like his was on display in a boat shop. When he got to the shop, he saw his little boat, recognized it, and told the boat seller that he was the owner of the boat, that the boat got lost.

The man told him, “I’m sorry! I know it is possible that it is yours, but I bought the boat from someone. If you can pay me the money, you will have it back.” Obviously, there was nothing else he could do. He agreed with the boat seller not to sell it to any other person, that he was coming back to buy it.

The man had to go and labour until he was able to gather the money. Then he returned, bought the boat, carried the boat with so much excitement. He said to the boat, “Little boat! little boat! I now own you twice. First, I created you and now, I have bought you.” That’s right. That is the summary of our redemption.

Beloved, God is our owner twice. He created us in His Image, but we got hopelessly lost in sin, and in the things of this life. And He sent His Son Jesus to die for us.

Thus, He bought us back to Himself (1Corinthians 6:20). So, we are God’s Creature, and we are also His purchased possession. He created us, then he redeemed us. So, the devil cannot claim you. The sacrifice of Christ on the Cross was God’s rescue operation from all claims of the enemy on man.

I declare that whatever is trying to lay claims over your life is destroyed in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Every illegal transaction on your life is terminated by the speaking Blood of Jesus Christ, in Jesus’ Name!

Remember this: We are God’s creature, and we are also His purchased possession.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Violently reject any form of claim that the devil is trying to lay on your life.

2. Refuse to hearken to the dictates of the flesh; refuse to mingle with the children of the devil.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for the privilege of being called Your own. I am Yours forever. The devil cannot have me or what is mine, In mighty name.

TOPIC: THE PURSUIT OF VISION

SCRIPTURE: I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.(Habakkuk 2:1-2)

FOOD FOR THOUGH: If you desire a future, you must begin with a picture.

One of the most potent forces for destiny fulfilment is the force of vision. The vision of today is the reality of tomorrow.

If there is going to be a reality tomorrow, there must be a vision today. The picture of today becomes our future with time. If you desire a future, you must begin with a picture.

Purpose and vision are the values of life. The absence of vision is the devaluation of life. When people are visionless, they are valueless.

However, not everyone can move from vision to reality. Not everyone can move from the picture to the future.

I remember growing up, we had several people who had visions, visions to be evangelists, ministering in different parts of the world, and so on. But somehow, 90% of those visions never saw the light of day. There are many people who claim to have a vision, but those who manifest and live in the reality of the vision are few. The problem is not that they lack a vision; the problem is that they don't know what to do to take their vision to realisation.

Moving vision to realisation takes a process called pursuit.

Pursuit is required for possession. Pursuit is necessary for manifestation. It is essential to understand that purpose and vision don't fulfil themselves; they must be pursued.

The Scriptures make it clear that vision must be pursued for it to be fulfilled.

NOW, WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF PURSUIT?

1. To pursue is to pressurize towards fulfilment or realisation.

When a vision or purpose is pursued, you have put it under pressure for realisation. It does not matter how pregnant you are on the day of labour, until you are ready to push, you are not ready to deliver.

Vision is like a pregnancy, and the process of pursuit is the pressure that pushes it out. No midwife would love a woman in labour enough to smile with her when she is not ready to push.

2. What is not pursued cannot be possessed.

For anything to be possessed, it must be pursued. Hunters know this. Pursuit is a survival strategy for vision.

The reason we have different levels of possession in life is because we have different levels of pursuit.

3. What is not pursued may not be possible. So, if it is to be possible, it must be pursued.

Vision unpursued is a vision unpossessed and unrealised. It does not matter how big that vision is; if it cannot be pursued, it cannot be possessed.

Possibility is a child of pursuit. David did not know it was possible to pull Goliath down until he dared him.

Beloved, whatever God tells you can come to pass; the question is, are you ready to pursue it?

REMEMBER THIS: If you desire a future, you must begin with a picture.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Go through today’s study again

2. Endeavour to give it all it takes to move your vision to realisation

PRAYER: Father, help me to pursue my God-given vision unto manifestation.

Give me the grace to do all it takes to realise my vision, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: REBELLION – A PATHWAY TO SORROW

*SCRIPTURE* : God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.(Psalm 68:6)

*FOOD FOR THOUGHT* : Rebellion, insubordination, or lack of submission to authority is a losing character.

I once heard a story from Bishop Wale Oke about his experience at a programme he went for in Kano many years ago. A woman who had been trusting God for the fruit of the womb for thirteen years also attended that programme. According to Bishop Wale Oke, the Spirit of the Lord told him, “Tell the woman that if she can obey her husband, she will be pregnant.” Bishop Wale Oke told the woman what the Spirit of the Lord said.

No prayer was offered. Thereafter, the woman went home and began to submit to and obey her husband. That was how the yoke of barrenness was broken. She conceived and gave birth to a child.

This story confirms that there are certain character traits in a person that can hinder their fulfilment in life and destiny. There is a character that makes winners, and there is a character that makes losers.

Rebellion is a major character trait that makes losers in life. Rebellion made queen Vashti one of the greatest losers on earth (Esther 1:10-20).

Rebellion is a character trait that anyone who wants to fulfil destiny must never possess or manifest. Rebellion, insubordination, or lack of submission to constituted authority is a losing character.

The Bible says that rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft (1Samuel 15:23).

Rebellion is one of the greatest weaknesses of many people. Most women find it difficult to submit to their husbands who are the major symbol of authority over their lives after God.

Most employees find it difficult to submit to their employers. Some pastors rebel against their general overseer. Rebellion positions a person for destruction.

Now, the inability to apologise is a twin brother of rebellion.

In the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, and God meted out His judgement on them, one would have thought that Adam would plead, “O God, this punishment is too much for us, please, have mercy on us, Sir.” But nothing like, “I am sorry,” came out from Adam or Eve, so God drove them out of the garden.

The reverse was the case with Cain. Cain killed Abel, his brother. And God cursed him, “A vagabond, a fugitive shall you be. You will be moving from place to place, restless, homeless and placeless (Genesis 4:10-12 Paraphrased).

Cain told God, “My judgement is too much for me. Yes, I killed my brother, but my punishment is too much for me. Anyone who sees me shall kill me.” (Genesis 4:13 Paraphrased).

You know what God did after Cain’s plea? He placed a mark on the forehead of Cain. God seemed to have said, “Though I have judged you, no one will kill you. You killed your brother but since you are remorseful, you are preserved (Genesis 4:15 Paraphrased).

Did you know that Cain built a city afterward? Cain who was supposed to be a vagabond, built a city. He got married and was established with children. He had a family because he was remorseful.

The truth is, when a man cannot say, “I am sorry,” sorrow is the outcome.

Beloved, if you want to have a future with God and men, avoid the spirit of rebellion. Be humble enough to apologise to God or man whenever you go wrong.

*REMEMBER THIS* : Rebellion, insubordination, or lack of submission to authority is a losing character.

*ASSIGNMENT(S)* :
1. Resist the spirit of rebellion; don’t allow it to settle in your life.

2. Promptly apologise to people once you offend them.

3. Ask God for mercy if you have done any wrong in His sight.

*PRAYER* : Lord, examine me, if there is any spirit of rebellion or insubordination, deliver and purify me, Lord. I shall fulfil my destiny, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

SUNDAY 4TH JANUARY 2026

TOPIC: YOU HAVE A CHOICE IN THE MATTER

SCRIPTURE: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.(Luke 10:19)

✨FOOD FOR THOUGHT✨: There is enough power in you to function as if the devil does not exist.

I read a story some time ago about a man, a born-again child of God. He had bronchopneumonia that progressed into a serious respiratory crisis. He was on hospital bed battling for life while on oxygen support.

He said a point came where it looked like he was choking and gasping for breath. So, he pulled off the oxygen mask so that he could have fresh air. At this point, his muscles were gone, and his lungs collapsed. He said he used his last breath to run towards the nurses’ station, and screamed at them, “Please, I need breath!” That was the only thing he could say. The next thing, he saw his spirit leave his body as if he was going to eternity. The nurses tried to resuscitate him. They did cardiopulmonary resuscitation, gave him intravenous drip, but nothing was working. The doctors were left wondering what to do next.

But then something strange happened: Suddenly, he saw himself in eternity and heard the Voice of the Lord asking him, “The life that I gave you, is this how long you want to live in the world?” The Lord also added, “The choice is yours.” Then he answered, “Lord, this cannot be how long I want to live. There are many things you have told me to do that I have not yet done. This is not what I want, except you want me to go, but as for me, this is not what I want.” Then God told him, “You have what you want: Go back!

Immediately, a bright light hit his body, and one of his hands started moving, and then his legs followed. The doctors screamed, “He is moving! There is life!” That was how he came to life. What happened? He made a choice to live at the junction of the earth and eternity, and his choice prevailed over the wishes and devices of the enemy.

Beloved, the devil is not omnipotent. He cannot do whatever he wants with your life. Under God, you have a choice in the matter. You are not at the mercy of the devil; the devil is powerless over your life unless you empower him with sin, fear and ignorance.

Luke 10:19 says, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Now, let me show you another way to read that scripture; this will deepen your understanding of the scripture. This is how to read it: Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works, and proceed without consequence.

Beloved, there is enough power in you to function as if the devil does not exist. Know who you are and live it out, so you don’t become a victim in the hands of whom you are meant to crush.

REMEMBER THIS: There is enough power in you to function as if the devil does not exist.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Determine to stand your ground; you can choose to live and succeed.

2. Consistently declare the Word of God to yourself to stir up the power of God in you against the agenda of the enemy.

3. Refuse to believe the suggestions of the devil; believe what God says concerning you, no matter the situation you find yourself.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your Word to everyone who has taken his/her time to read through. I pray they all live and fulfil their days and destiny on earth.

The agenda of the enemy against their life is frustrated in Jesus’ Name.

🔥 I decree acceleration without sorrow.
What delayed you in previous years shall submit to divine speed. In one season, God will restore years of loss (Joel 2:25).

🕊️ Peace shall guard your life, family, and destiny.
No evil report will prevail over you. You will not bury your helpers, and your testimony shall not be cut short (Isaiah 54:17).

💰 I prophesy supernatural provision and increase.
Doors of favor, resources, and honor are opening. You will lend and not borrow; you will rise and not fall.

Fresh hunger for God, fresh fire on your altar, and fresh grace to walk in holiness and power.

⚔️ Every hidden battle ends now.
By the light of God, darkness is exposed and defeated. What resisted you before shall bow this year.
