*CHANGED FROM GLORY TO GLORY*

*TOPIC: YOUR BODY, THE TEMPLE OF GOD.*

*TEXT:* What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's *(I Corinthian 6:19-20).*

The Bible makes it clear that the body of anyone who believes in Christ is the temple of the Holy Spirit. At conversion, the Spirit of Christ comes to live in you *(Romans 8:9).* When you become baptized in the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God comes to fill you to an overflowing state *(Acts 2:4).* Without any shadow of doubt your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit *(II Corinthians 6:16).*

The implication of this is enormous.
*First*, it implies that your body is immeasurably precious. Yes, the body of any human being is precious, because man is made in the image of God *(Genesis 1:26-28).* But because you are filled with the Holy Spirit in addition to that, your body is precious beyond words. Therefore take care of your body and treat it with honour and dignity. It is the habitation of our God *(Hebrew 12:14).*

*Second*, your body is holy. Remember, it is not just any spirit that occupies your body, it is the Holy Spirit. You must therefore treat your body as holy set apart unto God. Do not allow any form of defilement, uncleanness or abuse. No immorality of any kind. No cigarette. No alcohol. Nothing unclean. You are holy and set apart unto God *(II Corinthian 7:1).*

*Thirdly*, your body is a powerful tool in the hands of the Holy Spirit. He can use your body to communicate the love of Jesus to the world in very powerful ways. He can use your hands, your feet, your voice, your ears, your intellect, your skills, and your talents. You are a vessel of honour in the hand of God. He will use you for His glory *(II Timothy 2:19-22).*

The *fourth* implication is this; your body is capable of doing

*TOPIC: MY GOD IS ABLE*

*TEXT* : Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions? *(Daniel 6:20b, NLT)* ....

*Daniel* was a man who demonstrated to the whole world that the God of heaven that we serve is able to deliver those who put their trust in Him.

God has not promised us a life free from crises, free from troubles, free from challenges. To think that being a believer in Christ shields you from the problems and the vicissitudes of life is a shallow, unscriptural and unrealistic thinking.

Thinking this way does not take into consideration the reality of spiritual warfare, the fallen nature of man, the presence of sin in the world and the menacing presence and activities of the devil and his cohorts.

Rather, the Bible says that “many are the afflictions of the righteous" *(Psalm 34:19).* Jesus Christ our Lord said that "in the world ye shall have tribulation" *(John 16:33).* *Apostle Paul* said that "“ those that will live godly in Christ shall suffer persecution ," and that “ we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God " *(2 Tim. 3:12, Acts 14:22).*

The tribulation can come in the form of sickness like the case of Epaphroditus *(Phil. 2:27),* or disasters like Job *(Job 1),* or hatred like Joseph *(Gen. 37),* or a thorn in the flesh like Paul *(2 Cor. 12:7-12),* or betrayal like that of our Lord Jesus Christ *(Lk. 14:17-46).* It can come in the form of persecution for righteousness, victimisation or financial crises.

The real issue is not the tribulation because our God, who watches over His own children, is able to turn tragedies into triumph and tribulations into testimonies. This God does not sleep, neither does He slumber. He is well able to deliver those who trust in Him and shame their adversaries.

Child of God, trust in the Lord at all times, He is well able to deliver. And no matter the critical situat

*TOPIC: BEAR YOUR FRUITS EACH SEASON*

*TEXT* : They are like trees planted along the riverbanks, bearing fruit each SEASON. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do *(Psalm 1:3 NLT)*

God wants you, as a believer, to be Abundantly fruitful in every area of your life, bringing forth your fruits in each season.It is important to note that God has set the seasons of life and there are fruits that are to be produced in each season. At the beginning of God's creation, He set two great lights in place- the sun and the moon - to mark the seasons, days and years *(Genesis 1:14 NLT).*

Hence, there are fruits for each day, each week, each month, each quarter and each year, according to the seasons of life. You will bring forth your fruits in their seasons.

There are abundant evidences that God wants you to bring forth your fruits in their season, particularly every month. In the book of Ezekiel, the Lord gave prophet Ezekiel revelation; he saw the river of life and the trees by its banks that they brought forth their fruits every month *(Ezekiel 47:12 NLT)* .

In the revelation of John the beloved of the New Jerusalem, he saw the river of life and the trees by its banks "bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month *(Revelation 22:2NLT)* .

Let me now challenge you as a believer in Christ. Lay out the next one year of your life, on a month by month basis. What are the fruits you are to bring out in each of the months? Identify them clearly. Then go to work in partnership with God and bring forth your fruit in its season.

However, for you to be fruitful the following are very critical: You must be righteous and not ungodly *(Psalm 1:3).* It is the righteous that bring forth godly fruits. To be righteous is to be in Christ, to be saved, to be born again. It is only in Christ that you have righteousness. God has made Him to be our righteousness, our sanctification, our redemption

*TOPIC: BE AN INTERCESSOR*

*TEXT* : These stones served as reminders to the Lord concerning the people of Israel *(Exodus 39:7a, NLT)* .

In one way, intercession is the process of standing in the gap, reminding God of what He has promised to do for His people and asking Him to do it now.

This was symbolised by the clothes of Aaron, God's high priest of Israel. On the shoulder pieces were attached two onyx stones on which were engraved the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. Aaron was to put these clothes on any time he went into God's presence with the stones and the engravings. He was literally carrying all of Isreal on his shoulders as he went into God's presence. This was to remind the Lord about the people of Israel, that God should be merciful and gracious to them and fulfil His good words to them as He promised Abraham their father.

Every believer is a priest of the Most High God. *(I Pet 2:9, John 15:16)* . As a priest of God, you are called upon to be an intercessor, to stand before the Lord, and ask Him to be gracious to His people and bless them, as He promised. You are to first and foremost be an intercessor for your home, then your church, your pastor and your spiritual leader, your city and your nation.

God said in His word: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. *(I Timothy 2:1-2)* .

God wants us to stand before Him and claim the fulfilment of His word to His people. He wants us to ask so we can receive, to seek so we can find, to knock so it can be opened *(Matthew 7:7)* . He has said in His word that " ye have not because ye ask not " *(James 4:2)* . Someone has said that God does nothing for His people except someone asks Him to do it.

Topic: *No Place For the Devil*

Text: _*"The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, “Entice Samson to tell you what makes him so strong and how he can be overpowered and tied up securely. Then each of us will give you 1100 pieces of silver” So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me what makes you so strong and what it would take to tie you up securely."*_(Judges 16: 5- 6 NLT)

Samson was raised and anointed by God to deliver Israel from the bo***ge of their enemies. God did exploits by his hand. But Samson allowed the enemies to bring him down. My heart broke as I read of what happened to Samson, God’s champion, through his persistent disobedience to God and a consistent violation of his vow of consecration. The bible said that Delilah, a Philistine woman who Samson loved, contrary to God’s word _*“lured Samson to sleep with his head in her lap… and began to bring him down, and his strength left him”*_ (Judges 16:19 NLT).

Do not allow anything the enemy can ever device to bring you down. The bible says we should never give place to the devil in our lives (Eph 4:27).

Someone may argue that “that was Samson”. It happened in the Old testament. We are in the age of grace. It cannot happen to me. However, the new testament warns us again and again not to be deceived. Paul, the exponent of God’s grace warned us.
_*"Now, all these things happened unto them for ensamples - and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall."*_ (1 Cor. 10:11-10).

What then are some of the things the enemy can use to bring you down as a believer in Christ.

*TOPIC: THAT YOUR PRAYERS BE NOT HINDERED*

*TEXT* : In the same way, you husbands must give honour to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. If you don't treat her as you should, your prayers will not be heard *(I Peter 3:7 NLT)* .

Major amongst the things that hinder prayer is inappropriate relationship with your marriage partner – your wife or your husband.

Marriage is a covenant. God is a covenant keeper and He blesses greatly those who are faithful in keeping their covenant. He has said in His word that а faithful mап shall abound “with blessings" *(Proverbs 28:20)* .

When you treat your marriage partner with honour and respect, your prayer is answered quickly. When you abuse your marriage partner, your prayer is hindered.

*How can you abuse your marriage partner?*
*1*. When you are unfaithful to your marriage partner.
*2*. When you are insensitive to the need of your marriage partner.
*3*. When you are verbally abusive or nag your marriage partner.
*4*. When you are physically abusive to your marriage partner.
*5*. When you deny your marriage partner of s*x or use s*x as a bargaining or punishing tool.
*6*. When you do not provide for or truly serve your marriage partner.
*7*. When you refuse to take care of the children who are the products of your marriage.

If in any way you have abused your marriage, this is the right time to repent before God and before your spouse. Repentance involves two critical elements:
*(a)* Confessing the sin.
*(b)* Forsaking the sin.

If one leg is missing there is no repentance. We must confess the sin. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness *(I John 1:9)* .

Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed *(James 5:16a)* .

We must forsake the sin. There must be a u-turn otherwise there is no repentance.
