Day 26: PRINCIPLES OF GOOD SUCCESS (6) (Judges 19 - Ruth 4)
Beloved, never get tired of reading and studying the word of God. To avoid the word of God is to sign up for confusion and misdirection. To avoid the word of God is to avoid knowledge. Negligence of the word is dangerous. Not knowing the word of God makes a person a novice in spiritual things and in victorious living. Embrace the word of God, depend on the word. Ensure that your life is governed by the word of God. If you don't know the word of God, you don't know God. If you don't know God, you don't know anything. You can't even know yourself sufficiently if you don't know the word of God. As we read the pages of God's word and truth, they reveal to us who we really are. Beloved, there is so much to benefit from the word of God. Repent of your less affair attitude towards the word. Arise, be committed to knowing the mind of God as revealed in His word, and enjoy your Good Success. Today's reading is Judges 19 to Ruth 4. We will move in storyline order, and then draw out the principles of Good Success.
1. Summary of Judges 19–21: A Society Without Godly Leadership.
Narrative Summary of
Judges 19–21 records one of the darkest periods in Israel’s history.
Judges 19: A Levite’s concubine is brutally abused and killed in Gibeah (Benjamin). The Levite dismembers her body to call Israel’s attention to the crime.
Judges 20: Israel demands justice from the tribe of Benjamin. Benjamin refuses to surrender the guilty men, leading to civil war.
Judges 21: Benjamin is nearly wiped out. Israel improvises morally questionable solutions to preserve the tribe, including abduction of women.
2. Summary of Ruth 1–4: Godly Character in Dark Times.
Narrative Summary
Ruth occurs during the time of the Judges (Ruth 1:1) but shows a stark contrast.
Ruth 1: Naomi loses her husband and sons in Moab. Ruth, her Moabite daughter-in-law, chooses loyalty to Naomi and faith in Israel’s God.
Ruth 2: Ruth humbly gleans in Boaz’s field. Boaz shows kindness, integrity, and obedience to God’s law.
Ruth 3: Ruth approaches Boaz according to cultural and legal customs. Boaz responds honorably.
Ruth 4: Boaz redeems Ruth lawfully. Their marriage produces Obed, grandfather of King David—and ancestor of Christ.
God works redemption through faithfulness, obedience, and integrity—even in corrupt times.
3. Linking the Books to Principles of Good Success
Principle 1: Good Success Requires Godly Leadership.
Judges shows what happens when leadership is absent or ungodly.
Ruth shows how righteous individuals can lead well even without a king. Proverbs 29:2 — “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.”
Lesson: Success is not political power but spiritual alignment.
Principle 2: Moral Integrity Produces Lasting Success.
In Judges, passion without righteousness leads to destruction.
In Ruth, integrity brings peace, provision, and legacy. Proverbs 11:3 — “The integrity of the upright guides them.”
Ruth 3:11 — “All the people… know that you are a virtuous woman.”
Lesson: Character determines outcomes more than circumstances.
Principle 3: Obedience to God’s Word Brings Favour.
Judges repeatedly ignored God’s law, even while claiming to seek Him. Boaz carefully obeys God’s laws on gleaning and redemption.
Deuteronomy 24:19 (gleaning law fulfilled in Ruth 2)
James 1:22 — “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”
Lesson: Good success flows from obedience, not religious activity alone.
Principle 4: Faithfulness in Small Things Leads to Great Outcomes.
Ruth faithfully serves Naomi. Boaz faithfully honours God’s law. Their private obedience produces a public legacy. Ruth 2:12 — “The LORD repay your work.”
Luke 16:10 — “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much.”
Lesson: God builds success through daily faithfulness.
Principle 5: Redemption Is the Ultimate Measure of Success.
Judges ends in despair and fragmentation.
Ruth ends in redemption, restoration, and hope. Ruth 4:14 — “Blessed be the LORD, who has not left you this day without a redeemer.”
Romans 8:28 — “All things work together for good to those who love God.”
Lesson: True success is redemptive, not merely prosperous.

Good success is not doing what feels right—it is doing what God says is right. Even in dark seasons, individuals who walk in faith, integrity, and obedience become vessels of God’s redemptive success. “The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18).
Prayers
1. O God, help me to exercise moral integrity in all I do, and grant me lasting success, in Jesus name. Amen.
2. I refuse to despise my little beginning. I receive grace to be faithful in small things. O God, as I am faithful in small things, lead me to great things and great outcomes, in Jesus name. Amen.
3. O God, by Your grace, enroll me into the company of Your just children. Let my path keeps shining brighter and brighter everyday, in Jesus name. Amen.

Day 25: PRINCIPLES OF GOOD SUCCESS (5) (Judges 10-18)
We continue to encourage ourselves to give more attention to the word of God. Our relationship with God will be fruitless if we ignore the word of God. Let your eyes read the word. You can write some verses of Scripture and paste them on strategic places that your eyes will see frequently. Let your ears hear the word of God. Create an atmosphere that will allow your ears to hear the word of God from time to time. You can download the Bible into your Phone, and play it for the Bible to be read to you frequently. Get Gospel tapes, play and listen to sound biblically based Sermons. Inculcate the spirit of memorization and meditation of the word. Take some time and reflect on the word you have memorized - this is a major aspect of meditation. Fill your heart by the word, confess and declare the word. Let the word govern your lifestyle. All these practices, if done consistently, will contribute largely to your Good Success. Today's reading is Judges 10 to 18. Let us explore this section in our reading schedule.
Overview of Judges 10–18:
These chapters show Israel’s moral and spiritual decline after earlier judges. Instead of pursuing God’s definition of success (obedience, covenant faithfulness), they repeatedly choose self-made solutions, compromise, and spiritual shortcuts—which lead to confusion, conflict, and loss.
Chapter-by-Chapter Summary (Judges 10–18):
Judges 10 – Repentance as the Foundation of Success:
Israel again turns to foreign gods.
God allows oppression by the Ammonites and Philistines.
When Israel cries out, God initially refuses—but responds when they remove the idols and genuinely repent. Judges 10:16 – “They put away the foreign gods from among them and served the LORD; and He became impatient over the misery of Israel.”
Lesson: Success begins with true repentance, not just desperate prayers.
Judges 11 – Jephthah: Victory Without Wisdom:
Jephthah delivers Israel militarily. He makes a rash vow, leading to tragic consequences.
Victory is achieved, but at a great personal and spiritual cost. (Judges 11:30–31).
Lesson: Success without wisdom and obedience can still end in loss.
Judges 12 – Pride Destroys Unity:
Internal conflict between tribes (Ephraim vs. Gilead). Civil strife leads to 42,000 deaths (Judges 12:6).
Lesson: Pride and division destroy collective success.
Judges 13–16 – Samson: Gifted but Undisciplined
Samson is divinely chosen but morally undisciplined. His downfall comes through lust, secrecy, and compromise. God still uses him, but Samson’s life ends tragically. Judges 16:20 – “He did not know that the LORD had departed from him.”
Lesson: God-given potential does not guarantee good success without character.
Judges 17–18 – False Worship and Self-Made Success:
Micah creates a private religion with idols and a hired priest.
The tribe of Dan steals the idols and establishes false worship. Everyone acts independently of God’s law. Judges 17:6 – “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”
Lesson: Self-designed success leads to spiritual chaos.
Principles of Good Success (Drawn from Judges 10–18)
1. True Success Begins with Repentance.
God responds when hearts truly turn back to Him. (Judges 10:16). Proverbs 28:13 – “He who confesses and forsakes… will obtain mercy.”
2. Obedience Is More Important Than Victory.
Winning battles does not equal God’s approval. (Judges 11:35). 1 Samuel 15:22 – “To obey is better than sacrifice.”
3. Character Sustains Success.
Samson’s strength could not compensate for moral weakness.
(Judges 16:1–21). Proverbs 4:23 – “Guard your heart… for it determines the course of your life.”
4. Pride and Division Undermine Progress.
Internal conflict wastes strength meant for growth (Judges 12:1–6). Proverbs 13:10 – “By pride comes nothing but strife.”
5. God Defines Success, Not Culture or Convenience.
When people redefine worship, they lose direction (Judges 17:6). Joshua 1:8 – “Then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
6. God’s Presence Is the True Measure of Success.
Samson lost strength only after losing God’s presence (Judges 16:20). Psalm 127:1 – “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain.”
In conclusion, Judges 10–18 teaches that good success is not power, victory, or independence, but:
Repentance, Obedience, God’s presence, moral discipline, and submission to God’s authority.
Biblical success is living under God’s rule, not doing what seems right to us.
Prayers
1. O God, draw me to the place of true repentance, for Your word has taught me today that success begins with true repentance, not just desperate prayers, in Jesus name. Amen.
2. O God, give the wisdom and character that will sustain my Good Success, in Jesus name. Amen.
3. Help me, O God, to live under Your to rule; I shall not do what seems right to me. I receive grace to do what God wants me to do, in Jesus name. Amen.

Day 24: PRINCIPLES OF GOOD SUCCESS (4) (Judges 1-9)
What makes people balanced and mature in the Christian faith is the word of God. The quantity of the word inside of a person determines the person's approach to life. Your faith, courage and resilience are all products of the how much word you have in you. "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). The aim of this spiritual journey is to draw God's people to the word of God. This is because the busyness of this generation has kept so many of God's people away from the word of God. We wake up very early in the morning, and hurry to arrive our work places in time, gets busy with our job, and return home late tired and jaded - such that we have little or no time at all to read, study and meditate on the word of God. People who live this way soon become powerless Christians because they have neglected the source of power. God clearly states His standard for us regarding our contact and reflection on His word. He says: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success" (Joshua 1:8). You can see with me that we have drifted from God's prescription regarding how frequent we are to read, meditate and declare the word. God expects us His Covenant people to read, study, meditate and confess His word every day and every night. Let us return to God's standard so that His word might dwell richly in us in all wisdom to sponsor in us a prosperous and fulfilling life. Beloved, you can take a decision never to allow a day pass you by without reading the word of God. When you do this consistently, you step into the path of Good Success. There is no better instruction that can change your life permanently than the consistent reading of the Bible. Read your Bible every day and everyday night and be enrolled a candidate of Good Success. Today's reading is Judges Chapter 1 to 9. In this section, we shall explore together the summary of Judges chapters 1–9, followed by a topical summary: “Principles of Good Success,” with scriptural backing throughout.
Summary of Judges Chapters 1–9:
Judges 1 – Incomplete Obedience:
Israel begins well after Joshua’s death. Judah leads successfully by seeking God’s direction.
Many tribes fail to drive out the Canaanites, choosing coexistence over obedience.
Key lesson: Partial obedience leads to long-term problems. (Judges 1:27–28).
Judges 2 – The Cycle of Failure:
An angel rebukes Israel for breaking covenant. Pattern introduced:
Sin, Oppression, Cry for help, Deliverance, Peace, Relapse.
Key lesson: Forgetting God leads to repeated defeat (Judges 2:10–19).
Judges 3 – God Raises Deliverers:
God leaves enemies to test Israel. Judges raised: Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar. Victory comes when Israel cries out sincerely.
Key lesson: God uses willing instruments, not perfect ones (Judges 3:9, 15).
Judges 4 – Faith and Courage Bring Victory:
Deborah (prophetess) leads Israel. Barak hesitates but obeys.
Jael finishes the victory.
Key lesson: God honours faith-driven obedience, regardless of gender or status (Judges 4:8–9, 14).
Judges 5 – Praise Secures Perspective:
Song of Deborah celebrates God’s intervention. Tribes praised or rebuked based on participation.
Key lesson: Gratitude reinforces spiritual success (Judges 5:2).
Judges 6 – God Builds Leaders Before Victories:
Gideon is fearful and insecure. God calls him “mighty man of valour.”
God reduces Gideon’s army to ensure glory goes to Him.
Key lesson: God’s strength is perfected in weakness (Judges 6:14–16; 6:36–40).
Judges 7 – Victory Through Dependence on God: 300 men defeat the Midianites. Victory achieved through obedience and strategy from God.
Key lesson: Success is not in numbers, but in trust (Judges 7:2, 7).
Judges 8 – Success Can Be Undone:
Gideon becomes proud.
He creates an ephod that becomes an idol.
Israel falls back into idolatry after his death.
Key lesson: Spiritual success must be sustained with humility (Judges 8:22–27, 33–34).
Judges 9 – Leadership Without God:
Abimelech rules through ambition and violence.
His reign ends in chaos and divine judgment.
Key lesson: Leadership without God leads to destruction (Judges 9:22–23).
Topical Summary: Principles of Good Success (From Judges 1–9):
1. Seek God’s Direction First.
Success begins with divine consultation. Judges 1:1 – “The children of Israel asked the LORD…”
2. Obedience Must Be Complete.
Partial obedience produces partial success (Judges 2:2–3).
3. God Uses Weakness for His Glory.
Human limitation invites divine power (Judges 6:15–16, Judges 7:2)
4. Faith Requires Action.
God responds when His people cry out and move forward (Judges 3:9, Judges 6:14).
5. Praise Sustains Victory
Acknowledging God preserves humility (Judges 5:1–2)
6. Humility Guards Success.
Pride after victory invites downfall (Judges 8:23, Judges 8:27).
7. Godly Leadership Matters.
Leadership driven by self-interest destroys communities (Judges 9:56–57)
8. Success Without God Is Failure.
True success is covenant faithfulness, not power or popularity (Judges 2:12, Judges 8:33–34).
In conclusion, Judges 1–9 teaches that Good Success is not measured by military victory, leadership position, or prosperity—but by obedience, dependence on God, humility, and sustained faithfulness.
Prayers
1. Dear LORD, thank You for teaching me today that You honour faith-driven obedience. As I read and study Your word, stir up in me faith-driven obedience to Your standards, in Jesus name. Amen.
2. I reject pride after victory; I receive the spirit of humility for the sustenance of my victory and Good Success, in Jesus name. Amen.
3. In the name of Jesus Christ, I reject long-term problems on the strength of complete obedience to God's guidance, in Jesus name. Amen.

Day 23: PRINCIPLES OF GOOD SUCCESS (3) (Joshua 16-24)
One major way to know the will and mind of God is to inculcate consistent reading and studying of the Word of God. His will is embedded in the pages of His word. You should not allow anything whatsoever to keep you away from the word. You must constantly improve your knowledge of God by reading His word on daily basis. When you know the word of God, it is easy to differentiate the voice from the voice of the devil and the voice of man which are uttered in the name of Prophecy. How can you be a Christian, and not read through your Christian manual book? Such a Christian is half-baked with respect to knowing the Principles of the Christian faith. If truly you want to know God, search for Him in the pages of His word, and you will find Him. It is the will of God for us to consistently read and study the word of God in order to live according to the standard of God. Don't quit this journey. Fight the distractions that keep you away from the word, and be buried in the word. Do this, and your life will experience a world of difference. Today's reading is Joshua Chapter 16 to 24. Lets us explore this section together beginning with overview, and at some point, we will state the Principles of Good Success in line with this section. Stay focused for your edification.
Overview: Joshua 16–24 .
Joshua 16–24 moves from inheritance to responsibility to to leadership transition to covenant renewal. The text shows that success in God’s eyes is not just possessing blessings, but stewarding them faithfully and finishing well.
Key Anchor Verse:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth… then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” — Joshua 1:8
1. Receiving God’s Blessings Requires Obedient Action
(Joshua 16–19)
The land is distributed among the tribes (Ephraim, Manasseh, the remaining tribes).
God fulfills His promise to give Israel the land.
However, several tribes fail to fully drive out the Canaanites.
Principle of Good Success:
- Success begins with God’s promise, but it is completed by obedience.
- Partial obedience leads to partial victory.
Joshua 16:10 – “They did not drive out the Canaanites…”
Joshua 18:3 – “How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land?”
- Deuteronomy 28:1 – Obedience brings blessing.
Lesson: Good success is not just starting well, but finishing what God commands.
2. Godly Success Is Marked by Order, Equity, and Purpose
(Joshua 20–21).
Cities of Refuge are established (justice with mercy).
Levitical cities are given (spiritual leadership preserved).
God fulfills every promise He made to Israel.
Principle of Good Success
- Good success includes justice, structure, and honouring God’s priorities.
God cares about how success is managed, not just that it exists.
Joshua 21:45 – “Not one word of all the good promises… failed.”
Proverbs 21:3 – “To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”
Lesson: True success aligns with God’s character—justice, mercy, and faithfulness.
3. Unity and Discernment Protect Long-Term Success
(Joshua 22).
Eastern tribes build an altar.
Misunderstanding nearly causes civil war.
Dialogue reveals the altar was for remembrance, not rebellion.
Principle of Good Success
- Good success is preserved through communication, unity, and spiritual discernment.
Assumptions can destroy what obedience has built.
Joshua 22:21–27 – Explanation restores peace.
Psalm 133:1 – Unity brings blessing.
Proverbs 15:1 – Gentle answers turn away wrath.
Lesson: Sustainable success requires relational wisdom.
4. Success Requires Continual Faithfulness, Not Past Victories
(Joshua 23).
Joshua gives his farewell address.
He warns Israel not to compromise with surrounding nations.
Blessings are tied to continued obedience.
Principle of Good Success
- Yesterday’s victories do not guarantee tomorrow’s success.
Faithfulness must be ongoing.
Joshua 23:6–8 – “Be very strong… cling to the Lord your God.”
1 Corinthians 10:12 – “Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”
Lesson: Good success demands spiritual consistency.
5. The Highest Principle of Success: Choosing Whom You Serve
(Joshua 24).
Joshua recounts God’s faithfulness from Abraham to conquest.
Israel renews the covenant.
Famous declaration: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Principle of Good Success:
- Good success is rooted in a deliberate, lifelong commitment to God.
Success is not accidental—it is chosen.
Joshua 24:15 – Choosing to serve the Lord.
Matthew 6:24 – You cannot serve two masters.
Psalm 1:1–3 – The obedient man prospers.
Lesson: The foundation of good success is an undivided heart.

In summary, Principles of Good Success from Joshua 16–24 states thus:
1. Obedience completes God’s promises (Josh. 16–19)
2. God-honouring structure sustains success (Josh. 20–21)
3. Unity protects what obedience builds (Josh. 22)
4. Consistency preserves success (Josh. 23)
5. A clear choice for God defines true success (Josh. 24)
6. True biblical success = God’s promises + human obedience + lifelong faithfulness.
Beloved, align with these Principles, and enjoy your Good Success.
Prayers
1. Dear LORD, I am Your own. Please compel me to obey You and honour Your priorities so that Your promises might be fulfilled in my life, in Jesus name. Amen.
2. You have taught me today that the highest Principle of Good Success is choosing whom to serve. I have chosen to serve You the Almighty God. Lead me, O God, to the place of my Good Success, in Jesus name. Amen.
3. Since Yesterday's victory does not guarantee today's or tomorrow's success, I receive grace to be planted in deliberate, consistent, and lifelong commitment to God, in Jesus name. Amen.

Day 22: PRINCIPLES OF GOOD SUCCESS (2) (Joshua 7-15)
Consistent taking in of the word of God sets one's spirit on fire. To some point, the person unconsciously begins to speak the word while discussing with people. His character gets influenced by the word of God prompting him to behave and live according to the word of God. Such a person correctly answers any question people may ask him regarding the Bible and Christianity. The word imparts one with a balanced thought and view to life generally. We know so much when we know the Bible, its content and its author. We make massive and lasting impact, when we intentionally practice the laid down principles we read from the Bible. Our objective in this section, is to read the Bible and note the Principles of Good Success and apply them in our daily living. Today's reading is Joshua Chapter 7 to 15. We hope to have a refreshing time as we explore the portion before us. Below is a clear, structured summary of Joshua chapters 7–15, intentionally linked to the theme: Principles of Good Success, with scriptural backups showing how success in God’s eyes is achieved and sustained.
Overview:
“Good success comes through obedience, holiness, faith, unity, perseverance, and honouring God’s covenant.”
1. Joshua 7 – The Sin of Achan.
Israel is defeated at Ai because Achan secretly disobeys God by taking devoted items from Jericho. God reveals that hidden sin blocks success. Once Achan’s sin is judged, God’s favour returns.
Principle of Good Success: Holiness and Obedience.
Success is not just strategy; it depends on obedience.
One person’s disobedience can affect many.
Joshua 7:11 – “Israel has sinned… they have taken some of the devoted things.”
Proverbs 28:13 – “Whoever conceals his sins does not prosper.”
Psalm 66:18 – “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”
2. Joshua 8 – Victory at Ai Restored.
After repentance, God gives Israel a clear strategy, and Ai is defeated. Joshua then renews the covenant, reading God’s law publicly.
Principle of Good Success: Repentance and Alignment with God’s Word.
Failure is not final if repentance is genuine.
Sustained success requires continual alignment with Scripture.
Joshua 8:1 – “Do not be afraid… take the whole army with you.”
Joshua 8:34–35 – Joshua reads the entire Law to the people.
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet.”
3. Joshua 9 – The Deception of the Gibeonites.
Israel is deceived into making a treaty because they failed to consult God. Though tricked, Israel honours the covenant.
Principle of Good Success: Seeking God’s Counsel and Integrity.
Success requires divine guidance, not assumptions.
Integrity preserves long-term credibility even after mistakes.
Joshua 9:14 – “They did not inquire of the LORD.”
Proverbs 3:5–6 – “In all your ways acknowledge Him.”
Ecclesiastes 5:5 – “It is better not to vow than to vow and not pay.”
4. Joshua 10 – God Fights for Israel.
God miraculously helps Israel defeat five Amorite kings. The sun stands still, demonstrating divine intervention.
Principle of Good Success: Faith and Divine Partnership.
Success accelerates when God fights for you.
Faith releases supernatural help.
Joshua 10:14 – “The LORD fought for Israel.”
Romans 8:31 – “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Zechariah 4:6 – “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.”
5. Joshua 11 – Complete Obedience.
Joshua defeats northern kings and completes God’s instructions without compromise.
Principle of Good Success: Consistency and Full Obedience.
Partial obedience limits success.
Endurance is key to long-term victory.
Joshua 11:15 – “Joshua left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded.”
Luke 16:10 – “He who is faithful in little is faithful also in much.”
James 1:22 – “Be doers of the word.”
6. Joshua 12 – Remembering God’s Victories.
A record of defeated kings reminds Israel that God is the source of their victories.
Principle of Good Success: Gratitude and Remembrance.
Remembering past victories builds faith for future success.
Joshua 12:1 – Lists victories God gave Israel.
Psalm 103:2 – “Forget not all His benefits.”
Revelation 12:11 – “They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.”
7. Joshua 13–15 – Inheritance and Possession of the Land.
God distributes the land to the tribes. Caleb receives Hebron because of his unwavering faith. Possession follows promise, but effort is required.
Principle of Good Success: Faith, Patience, and Perseverance.
God’s promises require faith and action. Age, time, or opposition do not cancel God’s promise.
Joshua 14:12 – Caleb: “Give me this mountain.”
Hebrews 6:12 – “Through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
Galatians 6:9 – “Do not grow weary in doing good.”
In summary, the Principles of Good Success from Joshua 7–15 are thus:
1. Obedience & Holiness (Joshua 7:11).
2. Repentance (Joshua 8:1)
3. God’s Word (Joshua 8:34)
4. Seeking Counsel (Joshua 9:14)
5. Faith (Joshua 10:14)
6. Consistency (Joshua 11:15)
7. Gratitude (Joshua 12)
8. Perseverance (Joshua 14:12)
May God help us to imbibe these principles and be established upon Good Success, in Jesus name. Amen.
Prayers
1. Dear LORD, I confess that I have not obeyed and honoured You as I ought. Please forgive me and give me grace to obey and honour You in all I do, in Jesus name. Amen.
2. I receive grace for continual alignment with Scripture in order to access my Good Success, in Jesus name. Amen.
3. Having learned that integrity preserves long-term credibility even after mistakes; O God, let your mercy cancel the messes of my life, and impact with holiness and integrity, in Jesus name. Amen.

Day 21: PRINCIPLES OF GOOD SUCCESS (1) (Deuteronomy 32 - Joshua 6)

Over the past twenty days, we have been exploring the meaning of Good Success. By now, you must have understood what Good Success is all about. It was deliberate to discuss it for twenty days, so that one will understand the subject from diverse perspectives. Beginning from today, we shall explore the Principles of Good Success. We hope to follow the previous progression: summarizing the Chapters of each day's reading schedule and linking them with the subject of Good Success stating the Principles of Good Success. It is hoped that these series will edify you and give you insight and direction to Good Success in life. The main goal of this spiritual journey is to guide God's people to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. If you consider this Bible reading Schedule (of reading nine to ten Chapters everyday) too demanding for you, you are free to run at your own pace, but be consistent to read the Bible everyday until you arrive the last verse in the book - Revelation. Don't quit reading this daily commentaries because they will help you understand some key subjects in Scripture and will help you gain stamina to continue this journey to the end. I wish you well in this journey.

Today's reading is Deuteronomy 32 to Joshua 6.
Big-Picture Summary:
1. Deuteronomy 32–34: Finishing Well and Transferring Leadership.
Deuteronomy 32 – The Song of Moses: Moses reminds Israel of God’s faithfulness and warns that prosperity without obedience leads to failure (Deut. 32:4, 15).
Deuteronomy 33 – Moses blesses the tribes, affirming their identity and future under God.
Deuteronomy 34 – Moses dies after seeing the Promised Land. Joshua is affirmed as the new leader, “full of the spirit of wisdom” (Deut. 34:9).
Theme: God’s work continues even when leaders change.

2. Joshua 1–5: Preparation Before Possession
Joshua 1 – God commissions Joshua. The key success verse appears here:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of thy mouth… for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Josh. 1:8)
Joshua 2 – Rahab demonstrates faith and aligns with God’s purposes.
Joshua 3–4 – Israel crosses the Jordan River miraculously; God exalts Joshua as He did Moses.
Joshua 5 – Israel renews covenant practices (circumcision, Passover). The Commander of the Lord’s army appears, reminding Joshua who is truly in charge.
Theme: Victory is preceded by obedience, faith, and spiritual alignment.

3. Joshua 6: Victory God’s Way.
The fall of Jericho: God gives unusual instructions—marching, silence, obedience.
Victory comes not through military strategy but through faith-filled obedience.
“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down…” (Heb. 11:30)
Theme: God’s methods secure God’s results.

Principles of Good Success:
1. Good Success Begins with God’s Word
Success is not hustle—it is alignment.
Joshua 1:8 – Meditation and obedience to God’s Word lead to prosperity and good success.
Deuteronomy 32:46–47 – God’s Word is not a “vain thing”; it is life.
Principle: If the Word governs your decisions, success follows God’s definition.

2. Faithfulness Matters More Than Longevity.
Moses didn’t enter Canaan, yet his mission was fulfilled.
Deuteronomy 34:5–7 – Moses finishes strong.
1 Corinthians 4:2 – “It is required… that a man be found faithful.”
Principle: Good success is finishing your assignment, not doing everything yourself.

3. Courage is Required, But God’s Presence is the Source
Joshua 1:6–9 – God commands courage but anchors it in His presence.
Deuteronomy 31:6 – God goes before His people.
Principle: Confidence without God is arrogance; courage with God is good success.

4. Preparation Precedes Promotion
Israel didn’t rush into battle—they paused to realign spiritually.
Joshua 5:2–10 – Circumcision and Passover before conquest.
Amos 3:3 – “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Principle: God prioritizes spiritual readiness over visible progress.

5. Obedience Unlocks Victory—Even When Instructions Don’t Make Sense
Joshua 6:2–5 – Jericho falls because Israel obeys exactly.
Proverbs 14:12 – Human logic can mislead, but God’s way leads to life.
Principle: Good success follows obedience, not explanation.

6. God Fights for Those Who Honour Him.
Joshua 5:13–15 – The battle belongs to the Lord.
Exodus 14:14 – “The Lord shall fight for you…”
Principle: When God leads, success is inevitable—even if the process feels strange.

As we conclude our discussion today, it is important to note the following: From Moses to Joshua, from Jordan to Jericho, the message is clear:
Good success is rooted in obedience, sustained by faith, guided by God’s Word, and achieved by God’s power—not human strength.

Prayers
1. O God, please draw me to align with Your word in every aspect of my life so that my Good Success might be guaranteed, in Jesus name. Amen.
2. Henceforth, I make up my mind to follow God's instructions even when they don't seem to make sense, in Jesus name. Amen.
3. My new mentality is: "Good Success is rooted in obedience, sustained by faith, guided by God's word, and achieved by God's power - not human strength". And so LORD, I pledge my obedience and faith to Your word. Let Your power flow in me to achieve my Good Success, in Jesus name. Amen.
