WISDOM ALERT.
EYES ON THE PRIZE.
Luke 9:62 Says- And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.(KJV)
2 Timothy 2:5 says - And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.(KJV)
One of the functionalities of the human eyes is to see to it that we can get directions and inspirations towards a particular thing; We're moved by what we see as humans, and the ability to fix our eyes on things consistently attracts us to that thing. Vision is always the pioneering factor in any given purpose.
The Apostle Paul tells us here that there are rules to every game, and the ability to play by the rules is the key to getting the prize. It's a foolish thing to play a game and not consider the rules that makes it happen.
One of the rules for success is your ability to fix your eyes on the prize, because it's of a great motivation. Like I said before, sights can serve as inspiration; hence your ability to fix your eyes on the prize will go a long way to energise you in life.
Hebrews 11:6 Says - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
In every competition and labour in life there are no surprise prizes and wages, all of these things are placed before the labourers and the competitors for some simple reason, so that they can fix their eyes on the prize so as to motivate them.
It is common knowledge that profit is the motivation of all entrepreneurs; hence don't ever venture into an entrepreneur without first and foremost having a clear cut vision for the prize and profit that will come out of it . In fact, you need to first and foremost understand the life and advantages success financially will bring to you before even going into it, because most people who give up fail this test. When you understand the difference money brings in your life, you'll hate laziness.
When you'd study the bible we are told of several crowns such as crown of life and crown of Glory which the lord will give to them that love him. In fact, we're also told about entering into the joy of lord and several other great prizes that we will receive in God's kingdom to come. This is one of the reasons we labour and are always inspired in God's vineyard while labouring.
Hebrews 11:6 shows us here the need to always fix our eyes on the prize that Comes from God so we can indeed receive the prize. What this means is that, we're not to take actions in vain thoughts, thinking there is no reward for our actions. When the bible says give and it shall be given to you, it is what it is.
For instance the bible tells us to take care of that which belongs to another man so we can have our own. So when you work under a boss or an organisation, fix your eyes on the prize that comes when you take care of that which belongs to another.
In our opening scripture our lord and master Jesus tells us a man who is ploughing doesn't look back or else he is not worthy of the prize that comes from the king. This shows us there is something or a place he ought to be looking at, and that thing is the prize. You're either fixing your eyes on the prize or you're fixing your eyes behind.
The thing is, when you don't even know everything in life has a prize negative or positive you're more likely to take actions always on the negative; But when you understand that there is a prize for every action you take, you'd become more focused and determined to do the right thing.
Hebrews 12:2 says- Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.(KJV)
The bible shows us clearly here that part of the reasons he endured the cross was because the joy was set before him. Meaning his eyes were on the prize constantly; hence when the time of trials and pains came he couldn't look at the pain because his eyes were already fixed on the prize.
This is what makes the difference between two people studying, competing or working in an office. The ones who have found the prize and have made up their minds to fix their eyes on the prize acts in a very different and inspiring way than others who haven't. While others are complaining, he or she is smiling and pushing hard because the eyes are already fixed on the prize not the temporary issues.
When you do this you'd become hopeful, inspired and resilient understanding when the prize comes all of these things will fade away.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (KJV) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Praise God.
