TOPIC: THE PARABLE OF THE SEEED AND SOWER (4) - THE GOOD HEART
TEXT: Matthew 13:23 NLT "The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!”
The hearts of those in which God's word prospers are good soil. Our scripture says they listen and understand. This parable as narrated in the gospel of Luke says their hearts are good and honest.
It takes a posture of humility and honesty for the word to prosper and be fruitful in our hearts. When you read the word and do not accept what it says as the truth and the final authority but always try and give your own interpretation to it then their cannot be any change in you and in your life.
The bible tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." This is the work of the scriptures in our hearts. The profit of the word of God is a life that is shaped, changed and instructed by its truth.
A good heart will repent when it is reproofed and corrected by the word. A person with a good heart will do what God’s word says.
We prosper when the doctrines of the fundamentals of the gospel of Jesus Christ are fully understood and they become the anchor of our hearts whereby we are no longer double minded and tossed around by the doctrines of men.
The scriptures tell us what the foundation of our faith should be in Hebrews 6:1-2 "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."
Have you fully understood the doctrine of salvation through Christ, the grace of God, faith, healing and deliverance?
These are the things that a person with a good heart understands clearly. Let not a veil of fear or pride cover your heart when reading the scriptures but let your heart be humble and willing to do what it says.
PRAYER
Father I receive your word and submit to its supremacy. Lord teach me, correct me and instruct me in Jesus name.
