Apostle Paul, in his epistle to the Philippians admonishes: Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 2.5 (NKJV)); and shows that it can be done, and in fact, a reality, by confessing: But we have the mind of Christ in I Corinthians 2.16. (NKJV).

Then comes Kate Barclay Wilkinson with her simple and beautiful, six-stanza song: May the Mind of Christ My Saviour to highlight the key things that any believer needs to have and operate the mind of Christ:

May the mind of Christ, my Saviour,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.
May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His power.
May the peace of God my Father
Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort

As can be seen: Stanza 1 says any believer needs the love and power of the Saviour Christ controlling him/her day by day. Stanza 2 says any believer needs the Word of God dwelling in them from hour to hour. Stanza 3 says any believer needs the peace of God the Father ruling their lives. Stanza 4 says any believer needs the self abasing Jesus-exalting love of the Saviour filling them; Stanza 5 says that any believer needs the strength of the Lord to conquer their enemies; and Stanza 6 says any believer needs to be clothed with the beauty of the Lord, and win the lost.

I pray for and with you, that as you diligently and with passion desire to have the mind of Christ, you will have it, and the Holy Spirit will teach you how your family will come to think the way God thinks, and do only those things that will be pleasing to Him all of their lives.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:25

Each of us desires financial security. We require income to insure a home, transportation, and other goods for ourselves and our family. Allowing the desire for material possessions to control us is detrimental to our spirit because we will choose to serve earthly possessions for future gain instead of our Lord and Savior. As Jesus explains, we cannot have two masters because we will devote our hearts to one and not the other. We choose God as our one and only master and submit our lives to His will for us.

Dear God, we are honored to serve You. Thank you for Your love and guidance in all financial matters. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

We must always put our best effort forward to complete every project we set out to accomplish, especially when it comes to the task of evangelism. God commissions us to spread His Word across the world so that everyone has the opportunity to accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We will diligently sow seeds of faith for the Lord to reap a bounty of believers.

Dear Lord, we surrender our lives entirely to You so we can spread Word to all who will hear. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Encouraging one another is essential as we complete good works for the Lord! We enjoy coming together to praise God, fellowship with our spiritual friends, and continue our Christian education. Our relationships are essential as we make our way out into the community. Spreading the Gospel is hard work, and we must encourage each other every step of the way for strength and reassurance.

Dear God, we seek Your guidance in speaking inspirational words to encourage one another as we work to spread the Gospel to our community. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
