PRAY BIG

Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Paul began this conversation by showing us what God gave us so that we'll understand proportionately what He cannot hold back from us because of what He gave us already.

Imagine you have a friend who gifts you one hundred million dollars just because they love you and wants to show it and then tells you that if you need anything else from them that they'll give it to you as long as it's within their means. If for whatever reasons later on you have a need for one hundred dollars, would you hesitate to ask this of the person who already gave you one hundred million dollars and gave you an open cheque to ask for what you need anytime you need it and whatever it may be? The answer should be No!

From our anchor verse today, Jesus is not one hundred million dollars, He is worth more than that so much so that we can't place monetary or human value on Christ's worth which is the gift that God has already given us freely without our asking. Jesus is indescribable, inexpressible, precious and beyond words! Talk of an expensive gift! Don't forget that this expensive gift is FREE for us already!!!!

Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]!
2 Corinthians 9:15 AMPC

Now God is asking, how can I not with Jesus (the overly expensive gift I've given you already) not freely give you all things? That means, I've given you the most expensive gift there is in heaven and on earth FOR FREE, there is nothing you need and ask me for that can be as expensive as what I've given you freely already. Therefore, it is definitely something I can handle even if it seems so big before you.

Many christians do not have this revelation so in prayer they ask for small and little things. They pray small, they don't pray big! They ask only for things that they think wouldn't be a burden for God to answer. They ask for just too small.

Imagine that God himself even said we should pray big!

Psalms 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

One of the reasons why we must pray big is because God, our father is the owner of the earth with everyone and everything in it!

Psalms 24:1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

God will not withold any good thing from you, Pray big!

Psalms 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: If you pray small, you'll have small results, if you pray big, you'll have big results! Dare to Pray big because your father in heaven is capable!

Location: IN CHRIST!

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Salvation involves deliverance from one kingdom into another. We were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear son. We changed location, we changed address. Therefore the new and permanent location of anyone who is born again is IN CHRIST!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be IN CHRIST, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Because of our faith in Jesus we have secured unrestricted access to the father. We don't visit his presence, we live there. He lives in us and we live in Him.

Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Ephesians 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

1 John 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

1 John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

STOP SINGING SONGS THAT SUGGEST YOU ARE A VISITOR FROM A FAR DISTANCE TO HIS PRESENCE when the location of the new creation is IN CHRIST! WE LIVE THERE!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be IN CHRIST...

Acts 17:28 For IN HIM we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

The implication of this knowledge is that whatever that is not found in Christ should not be found in you and whatever is not in Christ that you're currently experiencing must be banished!

Everything good and perfect is of God, is in Christ and should be received and enjoyed while anything not good and not perfect is not of God and should be rejected.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: At salvation we changed location, we changed address. Therefore the new and permanent location of anyone who is born again is IN CHRIST!

DON'T GIVE UP ON THAT FELLOW - keep believing!

Philemon 1:10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: 1:11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

One of the toughest things to do is to believe in someone who isn't as useful as you would have him be at the moment.

To be in the ministry is to be especially surrounded by a whole lot of such kinds of people. People who do not know their right from their left, people who might have even given up on themselves, people who doubt the possibility of their ever becoming better than they currently are. Don't be discouraged, as tough as it is, believe in them.

Jesus believed in us so much that when we were sinners, he took a bold step and died for us trusting and hoping that we'll accept his sacrifice one day and thank God we responded (if you have, like I have).

If Apostle Paul, formerly known as Saul could change, then anyone can change.

Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

Galatians 1:23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

If the mad man of Gadara who was possessed by evil spirits could become an evangelist, then anyone can change.

Mark 5:18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. 5:20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

Even after 38 years, the sick and bedridden man at the pool of Bethesda could be whole. Change is possible when Jesus steps in.

John 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Do you have such seemingly worthless fellows near you, give them what every other person has refused to give them - FAITH, HOPE, BELIEVE IN THEM and let them know you do. You'll be amazed at how the once unprofitable fellow will become profitable in times to come.

The change may not happen overnight, but be persuaded not to give up because Christ didn't give up on you, he endured that cross because of you.

I'm persuaded to call out the fact that this is not a license to remain in that abusive relationship, QUIT FIRST and then believe in his/her change from afar evident in your praying for him/her(I KNOW THIS IS FOR SOMEONE)

Finally brethren, we don't dare give up on the unsaved and the brethren whose eyes are yet to be open to the truth of God's grace and the simplicity of the gospel. We pray for them, we witness to them, we love them and we trust God for them.

Ephesians 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

It may not happen with the speed of light but when it finally happens, all our labour pains will be forgotten at the rejoicing of the bringing forth of profitable fruits.

STAY STRONG. KEEP BELIEVING. JESUS BELIEVES IN YOU. BELIEVE IN OTHERS!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Jesus believed in us so much that when we were sinners,he took a bold step and died for us trusting and hoping that we'll accept his sacrifice one day. Jesus believes in you, believe in others!

CONCERNING PASTORAL INSTRUCTIONS AND OVERSIGHT - Part 2

Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

You can NEVER become who God wants you to become on your own terms, NEVER!

Every serious championship contender has a coach that stretches them beyond their comfort zone for the achievement of the goal in sight. Starting out, they may not look like champions but EVERY MAN IS ORDINARY UNTIL TRAINED!

You need people who have already gone ahead in various fields to be able to train you to become a professional in that same field. We always need people who have gone ahead of us, seen what we are yet to see, know what we ought to know and are doing what we would love to be doing if we're going to ever learn and make progress in any field or profession.

As touching ministry and your destiny in God, you'd be joking to think that you don't need full submission under your pastor to fulfill God's will for you. Stop cherry picking instructions sir, stop joking with your destiny in God ma!

Always remember that it is God who gives His pastors to His children to feed them with knowledge and understanding. So if you reject and disobey pastoral instructions, you are rejecting, disobeying and dishonoring God himself.

Your default response to God's pastor over you must be obedience and submission if you want to get God's best for you from him.

One of the things you'll receive from your pastor are responsibilities and assignments. These may or may not be in the area of your competence and convinience but they'll never leave you the same way they met you if you faithfully follow through on them.

To despise pastoral responsibilities and assignments is to show unseriousness with becoming all that God has designed you to become in Him because these responsibilities and assignments will bring out abilities in you that you may never have known that you had or build into you virtues that you lacked. They may also be training and equipping you for the days ahead as well as dealing with attitude, character, competence that you will or will not need for where God is taking you to.

Personal or cooperate instructions from your pastor to fast, pray, read christian literatures, listen to recorded bible teachings, go for evangelism, practice the supernatural, being accountable and reporting on your daily devotion, love & relationship and your next big step in life, getting permitted to travel or be absent from services and meetings if you must, walking in love and a host of other possible assignments, instructions and teachings all culminate into powerful trainings that will make you a stronger and a better version of who God created you to become if and when you yield to be properly pastored.

Any christian under a good pastor from God for them who they trust and obey will never remain on the same spot for too long because they'll keep experiencing changes and movements in the upward and forward direction and not just in the spiritual aspect of their lives but in every area of their lives.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Your default response to God's pastor over you must be obedience and submission if you want to get God's best for you from him.

THE MORNING COFFEE DAILY - 90 DAYS DEVOTIONAL
==================================================================================

CONCERNING PASTORAL INSTRUCTIONS AND OVERSIGHT Pt.1

Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

There is something God wants you to know about pastoral instructions and oversight today! Here it goes...

Have you ever had a divine leading by the Holy ghost to pray at a certain time for a certain amount of time or to give something to someone or say something to someone and you didn't end up doing it due to something else that came up internally or externally?

Did you sit down to think of how inconsequential your reasons for disobeying the Lord were and how dire the consequences of such disobedience possibly are?

I've never had an excuse, 'excuse-able' enough for not doing what Jesus asked me to do no matter how important I think that excuse of mine is.
Chances are that your own excuses for not doing what Jesus asked you to do are also irrelevant, immaterial and foolish sounding too in the grand scheme of things!

Heeding Jesus' instructions to you or not is often first and foremost a matter of faith and trust in His will and intent for you even as it is also a determinant of life & death, failure or success, and whether you are fit or unfit for what's next for you in His plan!

Jesus the head of the church has given us under shepherds called Pastors who when we prayerfully discover and submit under them, we must value their divine instructions to us BY FAITH and in the same manner we value Jesus' instructions, as though He communicated them directly to us.

Heeding your pastor's instructions to you or not is also a matter of faith and trust in your pastor's will and intent for you and it can also be a determinant of life & death and failure or success at certain things.

To dishonour & disregard your pastor's instructions is to dishonour the head of the church that placed him above you and placed you under him. It is outrightly walking in disobedience to God. It is walking by sight and not by faith!

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Such disregard could cause you to lose a lot including material resources, time and even your life!

The instructions of God's man to you must not be seen as suggestions or advice to consider but as an instruction and a command to obey.

To not miss this whenever it's been administered to you, you need to always:

1. Pay close attention and listen attentively with your spiritual and physical ears whenever he's talking to you or teaching God's word.

2. Take down action points while he's admonishing you so that you don't walk in further dishonour by forgetting what you've been told to do.

3. Seek further clarity if any is needed, and take immediate actions on things you ought to act quickly on no matter how you feel at that moment. (My Pastor would always say that a good follower does not ask too many questions before they heed instructions. That means, you are a bad follower if you need plenty answers and explanations before you heed pastoral instructions)

Heeding or ignoring divine instructions is usually a matter of life and death. Don't destroy your life by despising instructions!

To serve well under God's man over you, you must start getting used to words like, INSTRUCTIONS
COMMAND
OBEDIENCE
ACTION
FAITH etc!

Same words anyone in the military must be used to also. After all ministry is a military affair and not a civilian affair as seen in the bible!

Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.
2 Timothy 2:3‭-‬4 NLT

Most people who disdain, despise, disregard and dishonour pastoral instructions to them, DO NOT TRUST THEIR PASTOR and just like every relationship, where there's no trust, there's no relationship! Because to get the best out of every relationship, you must be vulnerable, you must exercise faith and trust!

Dear church member, leader and spiritual son, YOU CAN DO BETTER TO SEE BETTER DAYS!

Food for thought: Heeding or ignoring divine instructions is usually a matter of life and death. Don't destroy your life by despising instructions!

DAY 80

THE MORNING COFFEE DAILY - 90 DAYS DEVOTIONAL
====================================================================================

A GIST ON PURPOSE AND HOW TO DISCOVER IT...

Here's my definition of purpose as I'll love to believe...

PURPOSE IS THAT ONE THING FOR WHICH YOU WERE CREATED AND AT WHICH YOU MUST SUCCEED, OTHERWISE NOTHING ELSE YOU SUCCEED AT WILL COUNT!

To discover purpose is simple ESPECIALLY for the believer in Christ!

Let me show you from the bible why we were created - our life's purpose...

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Firstly, we are part of all things that were created and we were created for God and by God!

God created you for himself to do his will (I'll share with you what God's will for mankind is very shortly)

1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

God's will for mankind is SALVATION!

So His purpose for us is TO BE SAVED AND TO GET OTHERS SAVED...

Better put...WE EXIST TO KNOW HIM AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN

I'll prove this further from the bible

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate {to be conformed to the image of his Son,} that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Note the words in bracket, we were predestinated to conform to the image of Christ. To become like Christ. To continue his legacy of salvation to the end that men be saved.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Pay close attention to verse 5. We were ordained even before we were born to be adopted into the family of Christ!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Not only are we created to get saved and become new creations, we were also made ministers and were given a ministry of reconciliation!!!!!!

So man's purpose is simple!

Your purpose on the earth is very simple!

TO KNOW HIM AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN!

We live to know Christ and make him known

And

We consciously serve him using our discovered PLATFORMS!

TO KNOW THIS, IS TO KNOW PURPOSE AND TO LIVE THIS OUT IS TO LIVE A PURPOSEFUL LIFE!

What most people see as Purpose is actually a platform and a means to fulfill purpose.

Platforms are any career, vocation, invention or sector that falls under the spheres of influence.

God's purpose for man is beyond inventions and solving problems that have no eternal consequence.

His plan and purpose for man is that man will reconnect with Him and drive the solving of eternal issues of the salvation of the soul while being the best in our spheres and using the various platforms given us in our different spheres of society to this end.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God's purpose for man is beyond inventions and solving problems that have no eternal consequence.

NO PRIVATE INTERPRETATION - Part 12

HEBREWS 10:26 & 38

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

The word *knowledge* used here was translated from the Greek word *Epignosis* which means to know, to be aware of something, to take notice of something.

But not all the time in the scriptures does it refer to the knowledge of believers. That is why examining this verse in context becomes necessary.

For instance:

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Epignosis is used here and it wasn't for believers.

1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

In those context, recognition and not full insight is the subject of focus and discussion.

2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

This is not talking to believers here. Contextually, verse 22 says dogs and pigs and these words are not used for believers. It refers to those who have recognition of what Christ has done but do not believe it.

So the word *knowledge* in our anchor verse was used for recognition, to be aware not necessarily to have a full insight of something. Used for perception, taking notice of something or someone not necessarily believing in it.

It is evident there was knowledge of the truth that was known to the audience as revealed by the writer.

Hence to sin willfully in the context of the above text will be to reject the truth.

What truth?

The truth about the sacrifice of Jesus for sins that was explained by the writer from verse 5 to 25.

The knowledge of the truth the writer was communicating to them is the knowledge of the perfect sacrifice, perfect priesthood, perfect covenant and perfect sanctified people!

As per verse 38 of Hebrews chapter 10, the next verse already clarifies that we are not of them who draw back!

DAY 78

THE MORNING COFFEE DAILY - 90 DAYS DEVOTIONAL
====================================================================================

NO PRIVATE INTERPRETATION - Part 11

DO NOT BE A CAST AWAY.

1 Corinthians
9: 27 KJV
"But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

Simply reading this in CONTEXT reveals the true meaning of the text. In fact, when you read the context in the previous 3 verses, it is so clear that it takes only religion to misunderstand it.

Here we go:

1 Corinthians 9.24-27.NIV
Do you not know that in a RACE all the runners run, but only one gets the PRIZE? RUN in such a way as to get the PRIZE. Everyone who COMPETES in the GAMES goes into strict training.
They do it to get a crown that will not last, but WE DO IT to get a CROWN THAT WILL LAST
FOREVER. Therefore I do not RUN like someone running aimlessly; I do not FIGHT like a boxer beating
the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be DISQUALIFIED for the PRIZE. (KJV used castaway for
disqualified")

It is clear when you read the context of that Scripture that Paul was not talking about Salvation by works. He was talking about reward and getting prizes for his ministry. Take note of the words RACE, RUN, FIGHT, GAMES. PRIZE , CROWN, (REWARD).

Paul was simply talking
about getting rewarded for his preaching. He did not want to get disqualified from getting his prize and crowns after he has done the work of ministry for the Lord, hence, he had to do it correctly and discipline his body.

This has nothing to do with his Salvation.

Salvation is 100% God's Grace and 0 % work. No mix up. It is either Grace or works, no mixture.

Read passages below

"And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."

Romans 11:6

"Now to him that works is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness."

Romans 4:4-5.

Take note: Salvation is neither a race to run, nor a prize to win but a Gift to receive by putting
our faith in the Lord Jesus!

Get it right. Believers are saved 100% by Grace plus no work. However, our works shall be rewarded and just like Paul, we don't want to be disqualified from the heavenly prizes, so we
have got to allow the Holy Spirit to work out His good works in us, so that our works can stand the test of that day. It will be tested through fire.

Every work that is not God-originated is made with inferior materials and shall be burnt up, but the person shall be saved only like passing through fire. Read the passage below:

1 Corinthians 3:11-15
"11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire."

We are not discouraging good works in any way, but we are putting things in their rightful places.

I have always challenged believers to good works and I am still challenging everyone to good works.

Our good works shall be rewarded. Besides, we are created unto good works

"For we are God's masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10

To live out the true nature of our new creation is to produce good works - that is what we are naturally meant to do as God's children. Good works is our new creation. So, it is just our natural norms.

However, our works do not define us. We take our identities from God and that is the perfection of His love for us. We have confidence in the day of judgment based on this heavenly identity.

Read below:.

"By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world." 1 John 4:17

God sees us 100% as Christ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That perfects His love for us. And that is the basis of our confidence in the day of judgment. So, keep holding unto your true
identity.

We don't let the devil define us by our works, because our works are often imperfect. But God does not see us based on our works, but based on our true identity before Him "As He is, so are we in this world"

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God sees you as Christ. So, base your confidence on that. That is how to live.
