A GOOD MAN LEAVES AN INHERITANCE TO HIS CHILDREN’S CHILDREN

In a culture where the best parting gift it seems a father should leave for his children are fat bank accounts in trust funds, estates and houses - regardless of how they are acquired.

It’s important to state that there is a righteous ways of reserving and transferring a blessing that ensures the next generation is insured in the Hands of The Lord.

The Scriptures makes us know that; even if Abraham had left cattle, livestock and a stock of natural wealth for Isaac; a time came when that reservoir finished; cos we see that in Genesis 26; a time came when there was famine in the very land Isaac dwelt.

Genesis 26:1: “And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham”.

Interestingly, The Scriptures tell further that the wells Abraham dug in his days; were stopped and filled with earth after the time of Abraham.

Genesis 26:15: “For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth”.

In other words, had it been the natural stockpile of cattle, the wells of Abraham that Isaac relied upon as wealth transferred to him; he would have lived miserably; because famine and the philistines came after them.

However, Abraham left a greater inheritance for Isaac - it was the inheritance of an “Oath” made by God to Abraham and his seed by reason Of Abraham walk of Obedience with God.

Genesis 26:2-5 “And the LORD appeared unto him [Isaac], and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws”.

What Isaac inherited was beyond wells, cattle, livestock or a stockpile of gold.

What Isaac inherited from Abraham was an “Oath” God made to Abraham; for which God told Isaac; this was because Abraham obeyed His voice, kept His charge, commandments, statues and laws.

Isn’t that profound?

In Genesis 26:12-14; we see what that “Oath” backed by The God-insurance produced in the life of Isaac

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him [Genesis 26:12-14].

Beyond the facade of the stockpile of real estates, fat bank accounts that is assumed to be the inheritance that secures the next generation…

There is something called an “Oath” that is passed down an inherited.

That “Oath” when righteous makes you the recipient of a blessing that accrued to your predecessor because of His faithful walk with The Lord.

That “Oath” is what ensures that whatever you lay your hand to prospers, and the Angels of The Lord are detailed to gather fruits into your barn.

There may be a stockpile reserved for you, but in the course of time, “famine and the philistine elements may come and wrestle to take away that stockpile when your “Abraham” transitions.

However an “Oath with God” cannot be stolen; because it’s under the protection of God and is enforced only by God.

This is why we must earnestly hope and pray that God aligns us with righteous fathers - natural and spiritual - whose walk with The Lord will make us recipients of credits of righteousness that’ll keep us journeying in the path of the will of The Lord.

This is why Proverbs 13:22 tells us “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just”.

This is because the inheritance the good mean leaves to his children is his “Good”.

The “Good Report” he had obtained in His walk with God that provoked a blessing sealed by an “Oath with God”.

Likewise, we must be wary of those whose actions leave a “debt” for the succeeding generation to pay.

WHAT ARE THE CIRCUMSTANCES PECULIAR TO THE CALL OF GOD ON YOUR LIFE?

You know, when we perceive the calling of God in our lives; for most people, it’s like reading The Headlines of a Newspaper and automatically assuming you know all the writeup is about.

However, when the rubber meets the road; that is to say; when the journey begins, we realize that beyond the Newspaper Headlines; there are unique set of circumstances to every calling.

The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came into the world as the promised Messiah; in whom The Scriptures foretold and The Lord Himself declared; “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord”. [Luke 4:18-19]

As beautiful as the “Headline” of this calling; it was to be fulfilled within the most unique set of circumstances as revealed in Luke 2:27-35; by the one whom God promised he wouldn’t see death till he had seen the salvation of Israel.

“And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed” [Luke 2:34-35].

Here we see the unique set of circumstances in which the earthly ministry of The Lord Jesus Christ would be fulfilled; through great conflict, controversy, criticisms so great that the sword was spoken to even pierce the heart of Mary.

The Apostle Paul, raised up as a light to the Gentiles; trusted with mysteries of God hitherto unsealed; yet look what was spoken about him and the unique set of circumstances within which this calling must be fulfilled.

“But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake”. [Acts 9:15-16].

The Apostle Paul wrote of himself saying;

“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. [2 Corinthians 12:7].

The Scriptures are replete with revelations of men and women of faith, who heard the call by God, rose up to the greatness of the assignment; and walked through the most unique set of circumstances already set on the path of the assignment they were given.

Shall I speak of Elijah; who lived as a nomad, with no certain dwelling place?
Or of Joseph; whose calling and dreams set him up to be hated, sold and accused in the most vilest of ways?
Shall I speak or David; whose calling to be King made put him on FBI most wanted list, got him self exiled from the land he was called to be King in, and placed him on the run for his life?

Oh! How beautiful, eye-catching are the Newspaper Headlines of the “Calling”.

For those; who go beyond the Headlines and wait patiently for the instructions of The Lord in the employment letter of their calling; they’re given insight into what’s setup in the path of their calling.

Like the Prophet Ezekiel; The Lord told him; he was being sent to a rebellious nation; stiff hearted and impudent; a people described as briers, thorns and scorpions.

“And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD. And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee. [Ezekiel 2:2-8].

So I say to you…

What is the Call of God on your life?
Have you considered what peculiar set of circumstances await you on that path?

Too many of Gods called ones turn back at the slightest resistance; because they didn’t consider the unique circumstances within which that calling must be fulfilled.

They were so disappointed, because they expected that as long as they were anointed of God; they were to be seated on thrones; surrounded by fans and frolicking cheerleaders, singing their praises, spoon feeding them and wiping their sweats.

Again I ask you,

What is the Call of God on your life?
Have you considered what unique set of circumstances await you on that path?

There is the call of God; and there are peculiar circumstances within which that calling must be fulfilled.

Most of these circumstances are non-negotiable.

WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE VOLUME OF THE BOOK CONCERNING YOU?

The pathway of the calling of God isn’t always as we think.

Some of us are called to walk in very crooked and rough roller coaster paths by prophetic ordination; and it is in that path, the purpose of The Lord though chaotic, will find fulfillment.

The Scriptures write about the ministry of the two witnesses in Revelations 11.

Their story begins amazingly; with amazing display of power, authority and great influence …. Rev 11:3-6

“And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Then in another chapter of their book, they experience great defeat and humiliation such that the world rejoiced greatly at their downfall, as shown in Revelation 11:7-10

Revelation 11:7-10: “And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called S***m and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth”.

What a twist!

If you’re allowed to read what’s written in the volume of the book concerning you, and it bears a semblance to this; many will reject the calling even before it begins.

Why begin a Ministry with such amazing power and aura; only to be followed by a season of great defeat and humiliation, such that the peoples of the world rejoiced at the downfall of such a ministry…

What scandal would the devil be allowed to bring to this ministry that did such damage enough to swallow it up and bring global humiliation to them.

Yet all these was written to happen even before they were born and before their ministries began

After this, their ministry is prophesied to experience a third chapter as revealed in Revelation 11:11-13; when they are raised up by The Lord.

Revelation 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

These three phases already written before the emergence of these ministers foretells the ministry of a people that’ll emerge in the earth.

Anyone who reads all the details of what’s contained in the volume of his book may not have the guts to say “Yes” to that calling.

Many times, when you see the storms, scandals, the roller coaster in the life of one truly called of The Lord; be slow to speak, because you don’t know what’s written in the volume of the books concerning them even before they were born..

Some of you called by The Lord are destined to walk a crooked path and have a roller coaster ride; and it’s not because of what you’ve done; but what’s been decided for you even before you were born.

The two witnesses were set to win many great battles in the first chapter of their lives; but in the second chapter; a demonic being would come from hell that will defeat them and even dare to crash and put an end to their ministry, through death and great humiliation; but in the third chapter of their lives; a divine intervention is determined to come from The Spirit Of God that raises them up.

What’s written in the volume of the books concerning you?

What chapter are you in the prophetic books of your life?

The calling of The Lord can set you on a path that may be crooked, with many twists, turns, successes and even some defeats; but if you follow through with what’s written concerning you by The Lord, you’ll find that there’s sufficient grace for the journey.

HE WILL CRUSH YOUR HEAD, AND YOU WILL STRIKE HIS HEEL

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” [Genesis 3:15].

There are battlegrounds in The Kingdom where forerunners are sent to contend against strongholds that are so vicious and lethal. In some of these battlegrounds, even with The Kingdom employing its best marksmen and heavens fortified array of warriors, the prophesied outcome is such that; these marksmen will indeed crush the head of the serpent; but they will return with a wounded heel. The Scripture being true for The Lord in Genesis 3:14 as the seed of the woman; is also true for us as the remnant of that seed as shown in Revelations 12:17. It’s so easy to see the wounds of a valiant man in The Kingdom; but not everyone sees their victory; and how they had to walk that path to crush the head of the serpent. Many will be so amazed that the ones they have ridiculed because of their wounds, where the ones who paid the price for the flood of Heavens Grace to come into their territories. These are the mysteries only those called by The Lord can discern.

The Apostle Paul said this; “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. [2 Corinthians 12:7]. Hence he learned to live; “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong”. [2 Corinthians 12:10].

Many times I cry to The Lord; “Open my eyes that I may understand”.

Oh! That my eyes may behold and my heart may honor those who have walked and pioneered great paths for us at great cost; those who have indeed crushed the head of the serpent, but have been bruised at the heel; because that was the best prophesied outcome The Kingdom could get in places of gross darkness.

IF I BE A MAN OF GOD?

If I truly speak as the mouthpiece of God; then my voice will not be heard all the time,
If I truly come as a messenger of God, then my presence that symbolizes an errand from my Master will be seen only when I am sent,
If I am assigned to be and minister with the Angelic envoy of His Presence, then I must adhere to the instructions that precedes the manifestation of His Presence.
The Messenger of God has no personal desires, preference, ambition nor personal responses.
His feet is to convey The Presence of His Master,
His Mouth is to Convey The Voice of His Master
He has no right to be angry, nor sad, yet His Mind captured under the Authority of His Master is to portray the burden of The Lord.
The One who can convey His Master is the one who has no personal ambitions to convey.
So can you now say…
If I be a Man of God?

In The Kingdom, there is an administration of The Holy Spirit in advancing the righteous purposes of The Lord through stewarding “The Wars of The Lord’. Likewise, there are those identified, chosen and raised up by The Lord, and entrusted with the holy calling of The Lord and sent in significant times and seasons into The Wars of The Lord....

IT’S WAR TIME AND MANY DO NOT KNOW IT.

How do we win a war that can only be won by obedience in a rebellious generation?

How do we even advance in war, when the generation doesn’t realize she was born in the battlefield?

The Prophet Jeremiah lamented; “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me. Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?”. [Jeremiah 8:20-22].

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, the time allotted for us to be trained for the wartime is ended; and we have not risen in our formations. How then shall we wage war and battle unto righteous recovery?

There is a time when Kings go to war;

“And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem”. [2 Samuel 11:1]

There is also a time when the writings in the Book of The Wars of The Lord begin to be uttered;

“Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon” [Numbers 21:14]

These times of the wars of The Lord are also times when the enemy orchestrate his greatest temptations and distractions.

2 Samuel 11 tells us that The King David who doubled as The Captain of The Israelite Army remained in Jerusalem at the time when Kings go to war.

This singular event of remaining in Jerusalem, but sending his foot soldiers into the battle at the time Kings went to war; was responsible for him being caught up in the consequential scene of seeing the wife of Uriah naked - a sight that became another battleground in his soul.

The Scriptures tells further how King David went in to Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife; received the story of how Bathsheba had become pregnant out of that moment; and in a bid to cover up his misdeeds; he tried to lure Uriah, a valiant foot soldier out of the battlefield and into the very scene of his atrocity.

For this, Uriah responded;

“And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing. [2 Samuel 11:11].

Sin begetting more sin.

First, The King, and Captain of the Army of Israel, David, is absent in the battlefield at the time when Kings goes to war; but present at the scene of a consequential distraction that led to his being tempted into sin.

In a bid to cover the evident atrocity; The King David was willing to put the army out of formation; lure even his own marksman into this scene of his sin; lavish him with food and drinks to get him drunken enough to lower his guards, so Uriah could go in to his wife, so the atrocities of David could be hidden.

In Uriah’s defiance to being with his wife because of the significance of the moment - the time of the wars of kings - The King David plotted an even more sinister agenda; to sacrifice Uriah- one of his valiant marksmen and ready soldier in the Army of Israel in the battlefield.

“And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die. And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were. And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also. [2 Samuel 11:15-17].

Unconscionable, we may say!

However, we seem to be in a more troubling scenario in our times.

It’s wartime, and many do not know it.
It’s wartime and many who should be captains are lounging in their palaces, being setup to behold visions of carnal and lustful pleasures, in utter disregard for the battle raging in the fields.
It’s wartime and many marksmen are being called into the pubs, the bars, and the palatial feasts of gluttony, drunkenness and weakness.
It’s wartime and some out-of-place captains are looking to sacrifice the seemingly uncompromising and faithful soldiers in their brigades; to cover up their atrocities, protect their place, fame and personal reputation - all at the expense of the army Formation.

In the words of The Prophet Jeremiah; “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved“. [Jeremiah 8:20].

The words of The Apostle Paul to The Ephesian Church are fitting for this hour.

“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is”. [Ephesians 5:14-17].

In the coming months and years, it will be evident even to the blind that we are now in a carefully orchestrated and divinely permitted wartime for the inheritances of the nations.

However, what will even be more evident; will be the spiritual state of our brigades, battalions and army units to which we have been drafted by The Lord.

This is a wake up call.

Let him who hath ears…

THE SEASON OF THE CHURCH IN PERGAMOS

As watchmen appointed and set up by The Lord Jesus Christ, to publish to The Body of Christ, what’s been predetermined to unfold in the times and seasons before us; sometimes, we write and speak with such a great burden.

The Prophet Elisha upon receiving the mantle of Elijah, carried on the remaining parts of the assignments Elisha was instructed to do as recorded in 1 Kings 19:15-17 .

“Then the LORD said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. 16 Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. 17 It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. [1 Kings 19:15-17].

Through the study of The Scriptures, we see that Elijah indeed anointed Elisha, the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah as a prophet in his place; however, the other parts of the instructions to anoint Hazael as King over Syria and Jehu as King over Israel was fulfilled in the days of Elisha.

When the time came for Hazael to be anointed King over Syria; The Scriptures show that Elisha carried this word with such a great burden and tears in his eyes; because he knew what would unfold in the time and season of the reign of Hazael; and how the Children of Israel would be sorely persecuted in that season.

“Then he set his countenance in a stare until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept. 12 And Hazael said, “Why is my lord weeping?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel: Their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword; and you will dash their children, and rip open their women with child.” 13 So Hazael said, “But what is your servant—a dog, that he should do this gross thing?” And Elisha answered, “The LORD has shown me that you will become king over Syria.” [2 Kings 8:11-13].

In same manner, I dare say, a significant part of The Global Church is coming into a season that can be described as “The Season of The Church in Pergamos”.

The Lord Jesus Christ, by the hand of The Apostle John wrote letters to The Churches as contained in the Book of Revelations.

Each letter described a profound and unique scenario pertaining to each Church; the warnings of The Lord and the Counsel of The Lord to them in that time and season.

Of profound importance to us, because of the times we are in, is the letter to The Church in Pergamos; and those who have ears to hear what The Spirit of The Lord is saying to the Church in this season will do well to take heed to these things.

• The Lord as The Two Edged Sharp Sword
“And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, ‘These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword. [Revelation 2:12]

In the letters to The Churches; The Lord described Himself in very unique ways; and it is important to know that The Lord wasn’t trying to show off His many names, attributes and authority.

Every time The Lord addressed Himself in a new way when He wrote the letter to a specific Church, highlighting specific things, The Lord through the way He addressed Himself, revealed the authority with which He wrote that letter.

To The Church in Pergamos; The Lord identified Himself as “He who has the sharp two-edged sword”.

The Book of Hebrews reveal this; “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account”. [Hebrews 4:12-13].

This is too important to tread lightly;

When we understand why and how The Lord addresses Himself, first as The Word of God, sharper than any two edged sword; one whose eyes is open to see all our activities, even to discerning the thoughts and intents of our hearts - the one to whom we must render account – then we will understand how specific, precise the content of the letter to the Church in Pergamos is – and the issues raised in the letter - from the standpoint and view of The Word of God.

• The Pergamos Church in a place and season where satan gained a seat of rule
“I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. [Revelation 2:13]

The Lord then calls their attention to very important things.

First, The Lord tells them he recognizes their works; how they held fast to His name, did not deny the faith; even though they were in a place and season where satan had been enthroned over that city.

Interestingly, this was peculiar to Pergamos, and for a reason, satan had gained the right to sit on the throne of this very significant city in that season.

Why was this so?

To gain an insight, we have to see what was written to The Church in Philadelphia and why they were facing a different scenario.

“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. [Revelation 3:7-11].

What a difference!

In Pergamos, satan was enthroned, and wielded authority to bring persecution and also killed Antipas who became a faithful martyr, but in Philadelphia, satan would be made to come and worship at the feet of The Church in Philadelphia.

What was the difference?

The Church in Philadelphia exercised territorial authority and ruled their territory; but The Church in Pergamos did not rule over their territory; satan had gained the right of the throne and wielded territorial authority.

What made the difference?

The Church in Pergamos and Philadelphia both had a witness of endurance – they held fast His Name and did not deny the faith.
However, The Church in Philadelphia had a testimony; that they kept His word; but the Church in Pergamos bore a testimony of compromise to The Word.

• The Compromise Unto Weakness
“But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. 15 Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. [Revelation 2:14-16].

The Lord writing as The Word of God sharper than the two edged sword, detailed further the issues in the Church in Pergamos He was dissatisfied with, as we see in The Scriptures – and they sum up to this – They compromised and were not strong in The Word.

They were those amongst them who held the doctrine of balaam.
When Balaam failed in his quest to curse the Israelites under the hire of Balak; The Scriptures reveals that Balaam went on and taught balak how to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality – so they would be defiled before The Lord, incur the wrath of God, and they wouldn’t gain the territorial victory they were to gain in the divinely opportune time.

“Now Israel remained in Acacia Grove, and the people began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab. 2 They invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3 So Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, and the anger of the LORD was aroused against Israel. [Numbers 25:1-3].
Just as the compromise brought by the doctrine of balaam, brought a plague upon the Israelites and cost the Israelites the territorial victory they ought to have gained in the divinely opportune time; so also The Church in Pergamos, are described to have been weakened by the infiltrations of the doctrine of balaam, that they bowed themselves to the very strange gods they were sent to conquer – hence satan retains his seat of rule in Pergamos; and wielded that authority to fight against The Church.

• The Call to Repentance and The Promise of The White Stone
“Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. 17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” [Revelation 2:16-17].

Though The Church in Pergamos had found themselves in such a situation as we have seen described, The Lord revealed a way out of the present scenario – calling them to repentance, else The Lord Jesus Christ in His authority as The Word of God, sharper than any two edged sword would come and fight against them with The Sword of His Mouth.

Brethren, we are at the beginnings of The Church in The Season of Pergamos as described in The Scriptures and being revealed by The Spirit of The Lord.

We bear a witness; that we hold fast The Name of The Lord; we have not denied our faith; but the place of strength that brings us the authority of rule within our territorial jurisdictions is in keeping His Word.

“Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also”. [Acts 12:1-3]

The indices of the beginnings of the time and trials of the persecutions of The Church is all glaring; but to many, it isn’t ringing a bell as it should.

There are balaks within the Church that have partnered with balaams to infiltrate the Church with doctrines and practices detestable to The Lord; and for this, grounds that ought to have been gained, have been lost – and they have become grounds, places of authority from which the enemy is regrouping to unleash persecution in the Church.

In the midst of all these, The Lord calls out to as many will discern and heed His call today.

“Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. [Revelations 2:16-17]
