Judy Austin’s ex-husband, Mr. Obasi, has reacted to the reported ₦1bn lawsuit against him, saying he is not moved by it. In his words, he laughed at the claim because suing him for one billion naira does not scare him. He insisted that his only focus right now is to have access to his children, and he is ready to do anything to achieve that.
He referred to Judy’s statement in the lawsuit where she wrote that the last time he called her was in 2018. According to him, if that is what she admitted, then she should also answer why he was blocked and why she has been keeping his children away from him since then. He questioned why she would be manipulating the children against him.
Mr. Obasi said the lawsuit cannot stop him from demanding for his children. He described himself as someone who is determined, and for him it is either he gets his children or he goes to jail. He said he is not afraid of prison and has even told his tailor to sew inmate clothes for him just in case.
He also addressed the defamation claim. He said he came out online to speak about his experience and what happened to him, and instead of addressing it, he was sued for defamation. He argued that defamation only applies when someone lies, but he is speaking the truth.
To prove his point, he recalled a time when he and Judy tried to resolve their issues. He said she traveled all the way from Enugu to Nkpor, Onitsha to meet him. They lodged at Harrison Hotel on New Market Road, on the second floor. They talked for long and were intimate, and the next morning they went to Mr. Bigg’s to buy things for their children.
He ended by saying that if telling the truth means he will be taken to court and jailed, then so be it. He vowed to keep speaking until he gets justice and access to his children.
