The President of the National Association of Catholic Corps Members (NACC), Abuja Chapter, recently paid a visit to the National Youth Animator, and they engaged in meaningful discussions concerning the pressing challenges faced by the corps members in the FCT.
During the visit, the President acknowledged several critical issues affecting the welfare and productivity of corps members, which are:
๐. ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: Many corps members struggle with inadequate and overcrowded living conditions, making it difficult for them to settle comfortably and focus on their responsibilities.
๐. ๐๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐: The condition of the existing structures requires urgent attention, as many buildings are in a poor state, posing safety and convenience concerns.
๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐พ๐๐ถ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐: A significant gap exists in the availability of practical entrepreneurial training and resources to empower corps members for self-reliance and economic stability post-service.
๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐: Mobility remains a major challenge, limiting corps members' ability to effectively carry out their duties and access essential services.
In response, the National youth Animator appreciated the efforts of the Corps and their zeal, encouraged NACC to work closely with relevant stakeholders to address these challenges and create a more conducive environment for corps members. He also admonished that they remain proactive, innovative, and resilient despite the challenges they face.
