Thank God it's friday. Today we'll be discussing Psalms 28.
The psalmist started by telling God not to turn a deaf ear to him. When I read it within my spirit I remembered the incidence between the prophet of baal and Prophet Elijah.
Despite all the multiple calls of the prophets of baal, their God remained silent and there was no sign that their God existed. But when Prophet Elijah called on God, God revealed himself.
This was what the psalmist didn't want. He didn't want to be like the prophets of baal.
Psalms 28:1-3, 7-8 NIV
[1] To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit. [2] Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.
Then in verse 3 he said what he said for a reason. There's a kind of treatment given to the wicked mentioned there. That kind of treatment is not palatable and he doesn't want it.
[3] Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts.
Then in verse 7, he made his declarations. He declared
his trust in God.
[7] The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. [8] The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
KEY TAKEAWAY: As long as you continue seeking God, He won't forget or forsake you. Always declare boldly your stance in every situation.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT 🤔: Have I been able to declare boldly or have I been in doubt?
Have a great weekend
