WORD FOR TODAY

DECEMBER 2024
MONTHLY THEME:
CELEBRATING JESUS CHRIST - THE HOPE, PEACE AND JOY TO THE WORLD.
LUKE 1:71, 2:10-12.

Topic - No Room For Jesus
Text - Luke 2:1-7.
Minister: Rev John Sh*ttu

Introduction:
The world is used to marking important celebrations, without a mark/focus on the celebrant. Christmas is celebrated across the world without the world recognizing the celebrant - JESUS!
The birth of Jesus was marked by rejection and humility-no room in the inn. Today, the world still struggles with making room for Jesus. Is there a room in your lite for JESUS?

1. The Historical Context: No Room for Jesus - Luke 2:7
A. Bethlehem was overcrowded due to the census (Luke 2:1-3).
B. Jesus, the King of Kings, was born in a manger-signifying humility and rejection (Philippians 2:6-7).
C. The innkeeper's lack of room symbolizes a broader issue: people being too busy or indifferent to recognize Jesus.
Are we too busy or preoccupied to make room for Jesus in our lives?

II. No Room in the World - John 1:10-11
A. The world rejected Jesus from birth to His death (Isaiah 53:3).
The same rejection continues today in secularism and disbelief. The absence of Christ in Christmas celebrations-people celebrate the holiday but forget its true meaning.

III. No Room in the Heart Rev. 3:20
A. Jesus desires a personal relationship, but many hearts are closed due to sin, pride, or worldly distractions.
B. A hardened heart misses the peace and joy Christ brings
(Matthew 11:28-30).
Examine your heart-have you made room for Jesus?

IV. Making Room for Jesus Matt. 6:33
A. Prioritize Jesus in your daily life-time in prayer, Bible study, and service.
B. Open your heart fully, surrendering all aspects of your life to
Him. Rom. 12:1
When we make room for Jesus, our lives reflect His light to others

Conclusion:
The innkeeper missed the opportunity to host the Savior of the world. Don't make the same mistake. Make room for Jesus in your life, your family, and your community. This Christmas season, let Christ be the center of all you do.
Colossians 3:16:
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom."

MONTHLY THEME: BORNE ON EAGLES' WINGS
ΕΧ. 19:3-4

NOVEMBER 2024
Theme: Borne on Eagles Wings. (Exodus 19:4)

Topic: FLIGHT
Text: Isaiah 40:28-31.
Minister: Minister Emmanuel Aboje

INTRODUCTION
BORNE ON EAGLE'S WINGS (EXODUS 19:4)
This scriptural context presents to us an ancient holy script, pouring out the mind of God for every generation to grasp. To be borne on Eagles wings means to be carried on Eagles wings.
The eagle is a super being, it's wings are a symbol of movement, not just movement but speedy movement (the highest form of speed locomotion).
This is why the architecture of the fastest speed gadgets or machines such as: airplanes, jets, rockets, helicopters, drones, jetpacks etc is designed in the form of winged structure God uses the eagle to display His attributes. This is to say that being carried by God is by the supernatural and not the natural. Life is spiritual and life in God is 100% super spiritual. God expressly proclaimed in our theme text-living in God, walking with God and traveling with God is by the supernatural (John 4:24,1Cor.2:14)

THE POWER OF THE WING AND THE WIND
Every winged animal or Phenomena can never do without the wind.
The wind is the symbolism for the Spirit. The Holy Spirit-the engine of the super-natural.
Before the earth was created, the Spirit of God hovered over (was at work) and God said let there be light, The Spirit moved again and engineered the creative work. (Gen. 1:2-3).
Being borne on Eagles wings is by the FLIGHT OF THE SPIRIT AND ON THE FLIGHT OF THE SPIRIT.

WHAT THEN IS FLIGHT?
It is the act of passing through the air by the use of wings. Flight is escaping the ground level.
Flight is a swift movement by the force of speed. Opposing and overcoming the law of gravity.

SIGNIFICANCE OF BEING BORNE ON EAGLES' WINGS

1. Being borne ON Eagles wings is to be born by an EAGLE!!
2. You are born and borne by a supernatural influence.
3. You are not normal and not an ordinary being.
4. You have a wing on you. There is a nature to fly in and on you.

WHY FLIGHT?
There are things(glories)to recover and reclaim from the hands of the devil, which he has stolen from our lineage. (Isaiah 45:3, Isaiah 40:30)
You are not just to run but to fly. No more time! the devil has cheated us enough.

Conclusion
The question now is
1.How can I practically have/experience this supernatural life?

2.How can I live a life on the flight of the Spirit?
1.. BE BORN AGAIN-BE BORN OF THE EAGLE (John 3:16)
2. YOU NEED THE WIND-Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4)
3. ENGAGE YOUR WINGS (Heb. 11:1-3, Matt.25:1-10): Fight-faith-race, Actions, dream big, Self-development, Skills- Value, Education, Character and relationship building.
4. LIGHT AND SIGHT: Study: What you know and see you become (Joshua 1:8, John 1:1-5,Eph. 3:20, 2Cor. 3:18)
5. HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: Waiting, Prayers, Tongues (Matt. 5:4, Luke 18:1, Phil 1:19, Jude 20)
6. HUNGER:(Matt. 5:6)

Theme: Borne on Eagle's Wings
NOVEMBER 2024
Text: Exodus 19:4.
Topic: Characteristics of the Eagle Christian
Text: Exodus 19:1-6.
Minister: Rev John Sh*ttu

Introduction: The eagle is often used in the Bible to symbolize strength, vision, and God's care for His people. By examining the characteristics of the eagle, we can gain insights into the Christian walk and understand how God desires us to live in His strength and guidance.
The eagle in Scripture symbolizes strength, renewal, vision, and resilience. An "Eagle Christian" is one who embodies these characteristics in their walk with God. Here are some key traits, along with Bible verses to deepen understanding.

1. Vision and Purpose (Proverbs 29:18)
Eagles have sharp vision, allowing them to see far into the distance. Similarly, Christians are called to have clear spiritual vision and purpose, keeping their eyes fixed on God's direction and calling for their lives.

II. Strength and Perseverance (Isaiah 40:31)
Eagles are known for their strength and endurance, especially during storms. Eagle Christians wait upon the Lord, receiving supernatural strength and perseverance to rise above life's challenges.

III. High Standards and Elevated Perspective (Colossians 3:2)
Eagles build their nests high up, away from danger. Likewise, Christians are called to have a heavenly perspective, focusing on God's promises and eternal values rather than the distractions of the world.

IV. Renewal and Transformation (Ephesians 4:23)
Eagles undergo a renewal process, shedding old feathers to grow new ones. Eagle Christians experience continual spiritual renewal, letting go of old ways and embracing God's transformative work.

IV. Renewal and Transformation (Ephesians 4:23)
Eagles undergo a renewal process, shedding old feathers to grow new ones. Eagie Christians experience continuai spiritual renewal, letting go of old ways and embracing God's transformative work.

V. Courage and Boldness (Proverbs 28:1)
Eagles are fearless hunters, taking on prey with confidence. In the same way, Eagle Christians live boldly in faith, unafraid to stand firm in their beliefs and take action for God's kingdom.

VI. Focus and Determination (Proverbs 4:25)
Eagles are intensely focused on their prey, blocking out distractions. Eagle Christians should keep their eyes on Jesus, pursuing their goals with focus and determination.

VII. Living Above the Storm (Psalm 61:3)
Eagles can fly above storms, using the winds to lift them higher. Similarly, Christians can rely on God as their refuge, rising above difficulties rather than being overcome by them.

VIII. Nurturing and Training (Deuteronomy 32:11 (NIV) Eagles nurture and train their young, helping them learn to fly.
Eagle Christians invest in the lives of others, nurturing faith, and preparing others to live victoriously in Christ.

Conclusion: An Eagle Christian strives to embody vision, strength, renewal, courage, focus, resilience, and a nurturing spirit. Each of these qualities helps them soar in their faith journey, relying on God's strength and grace for daily living.

Text: Ex. 19:1-10, Phil 2:5-11, 1 Peter 2:6-9,

Deut. 32:10-11

Minister: Pst. Emma Agada

Introduction: On Eagles' wings is an expression of the supernatural experience of the believer who received heavenly support on the speed of life. It is a figure of speech, meaning a loving father conveying or lifting His children. It is a symbol of fierce taken of God's people from unpleasant situation-slavery to the prepared. In our time, this is the testimony of God's dealing with those of us who were sometime afar now brought to God (Eph. 2:12) We are facing "Red Sea" moment of life and it will take only supernatural act of God to deliver us (Ex. 13:21-22) during the day and night.

Forces of Enlistment of the eagles' wings

1. Force of Selection (Born Again) (Isa. 40:31, 1 Pet. 2:9, Ps. 105:30-40)

2. Force of Obedience (Isa. 64 34, Ps. 19:1, Deut. 1:23-33, 1 Sam 15:29

4. Force of Covenant (Grace Covenant) (Ex. 19 3-4, 20:3-4, 19:8)

It is not an earned relationship but: a given (Isa. 59:21, Hel 8:6, 13)

WORD FOR TODAY

JUNE 2024

MONTHLY THEME: DILIGENCE; FOUNDATION FOR ALL-ROUND BLESSING (GEN. 26:12)

TOPIC: GOD'S WORD PRODUCES FAITH

TEXTS: Rom. 10:17; 12:1-2; James 1:22-25

MINISTER: PST. DR. WOLE ODUWUSI

Introduction: Faith in God is non-negotiable if we must
enjoy all-round blessings. However, the bible clarifies that this faith comes from hearing the word. A diligent study and application of God's Word produces faith to receive all that God has promised. We are exposed to God's character and capability when we diligently study the word. This exposure fosters faith, and when faith is produced, God becomes committed.
Having established this truth, what should be our attitude to the word of God?
Treasure the Word (Psalm 119:24)
Receive the word with meekness (James 1:21) Believe what the Word says (Heb. 4:1-2)
Be willing and eager to share the Word with others
(Matt. 28:20; Act 6:7)
Living by the word (James 1:22-25)

God's Word is unprofitable until it is Applled (James 1:22-25)
The bible stresses the need to act on the word of God. It is not enough to read, memorize, claim biblical promises, and even share the word with sinners; we must be doers of the word. We must consciously and correctly apply the Word to our situations. This is when the Word will be profitable unto us. The original language of James 1:22 gives the sense that we must keep on becoming "doers of God's Word.

To apply the word of God means:
To put the word into action
To Appropriate the word
To align our lives with what the Word says
To Allow the Word to Correct us
To Accept the authority of the word

We live in time when applying the Word of God to every circumstance is challenging, but we can only be as blessed as our obedience to the Word. God does not bless us based on our IQ (Intelligence Quotient) but on our OQ (Obedience Quotient). How can we be faithful in doing what the Word of God commands in our mixed-up, ridiculous world?

1. We must pray for the enabling grace of the Holy
2. We must accept the authority of the scripture.
3. We must never forget that God rewards the doers of His Word
4. We must trust God to help us obey His word

Conclusion: The word of God provides the blueprint for what God expects of us. Therefore, we must make it a duty to study the word of God and apply its truths to our lives. This is when the word of God will be profitable to us.

FOURSQUARE GOSPEL CHURCH, KARMO ABUJA (The rising Champions Chapel) BIBLE STUDIES OUTLINE
18th April 2024

Monthly Theme: Signs and Wonders (Isaiah 8:18)

Topic: Experiencing Signs and Wonders
Text: Exodus 19:1-25

Teacher: Bro Emmanuel Usman

Introduction: Signs and wonders are of two sides, the objective aspect and subjective Ispect. The objective sign are the sign that God give about Himself like the burning bush that Moses Saw. God gave Moses a full manifestation of Himself, these sigurning to be continued evidience that Moses has truly been called by God.

Whoever shall be called by God should have the mark of these signs, it is significant that the Lord showed Moses three signs not two, not four, not any other number. There are three parables related to the Son, the Spirit and the Father (Luke 15: 1-32).

The sign of burning bush is not an adequate proof that one has been called by God. A sent one must be able to deal with the serpent, with leprosy and with blood (SATAN, SINFUL FLESH, THE WORLD OF DEATH)

THE SIGNIFICANT OF THE THREE SUBJECTIVE SIGNS

1. Rod becoming a Serpent
(i) The rod signifying what we rely upon
(ii) The rod being cast on the ground and being exposed that it was the serpent
(iii) The serpent being taken by the tail
(iv) The rod of authority

If you take a serpent by the head, it may bite you, but if you pick it up by the tail, it will

lose its power and hang lime.

This is the best way to deal with the serpent. We must know that the serpent is hiding in every person, in every matter and in everything, eventually the serpent that is picked. up by the tail will become a rod of authority (Exodus 4:4-17); Luke 10:19) do not handle situation by your natural ability, handle them by grace.

2. The hand becoming leprous (Isaiah 6:5)
(i) Hand in the bosom (Ex 4:6; Romans 7:17) signifies what is with us
(ii) Cleansed by keeping the word of the Lord, disobedience to the Lord is the basic element of sin, but when we obey the Lord by keeping His word, His cleansing power will be with us and we shall be cleansed.

3. The water becoming blood (Exodus 4:9)
The water of the word is not actually water at all, it is blood. The worldly people do not drink water, they drink blood, that is death. The river here is the Nile, which irrigated from the land of Egypt. The water of Nile signifies earthly supply and enjoyment. The dry land is the source from which life is produced.

Conclusion: According to the New Testament, Satan is against Christ, (l John 3:8) the flest is against the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:1) and the world in against the Father Joh 2:15) but be rest assured that victory is sure. There are signs that we are ordained by the Lord to help us know Him and bring us before the God of Heaven and earth (Psalm 74-9)
