HARVEST OF SACRIFICE – GENESIS 22:1–2

Relive the inspiring moments from the Diocesan Harvest Thanksgiving Service of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Kubwa, a truly remarkable Service of Sacrifice.

The Chief Shepherd of the Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Dr. Frederick Agada Gabriel Onoja, DCF, led the congregation and invited guests in a powerful time of worship, thanksgiving, and dedication to God’s work.

The Guest Preacher, Rt. Rev’d Dr. Monday Evans Onyemara, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Nigeria, delivered a thought-provoking message from Genesis 22:1–2 on the theme “Harvest of Sacrifice.” He drew profound lessons from the life of Abraham, urging believers to live lives of obedience and faith that bring glory to God.

A highlight of the service was the commissioning of newly graduated evangelists—sent forth for God’s strategic work of sacrifice in the Diocese and the Kingdom at large.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Lay President of the Diocese of Kubwa, Elder James Duru, and many others who came together to offer sacrificial thanksgiving offerings unto the Lord, as referenced in Genesis 4:1–5; 8:20–21.

Indeed, it is a blessed day of worship, sacrifice, and divine visitation! ...... Photo speaks.

A Voice Calling You to Destiny! 🙏

What a powerful service we had today, Sunday, October 12, 2025, as we gathered at the Resurrection Chapel, Chikakore!

We are so grateful for the opportunity to revive this sacred space, originally planted under the leadership of Most. Rev. Dr. Chikwendu Ogan Igwe and Rt. Rev. David Ogwuche Job, and now being championed to thrive by our own Rt. Rev. Dr. Frederick Agada Gabriel Onoja as the Bishop's Chapel.

Bishop Onoja delivered a stirring message from Jeremiah 29:11 ff reminding us that we serve a God deeply invested in our lives.

The Voice of Destiny

Drawing from Jeremiah 29:11ff, the Bishop spoke on "The Voice of Destiny."

* Destiny isn't just random events; it's the future that will necessarily happen to a person, controlled by a hidden power.

* The Big Battle: Destiny can be positive or negative, and there is a constant spiritual battle for our lives between God and Satan. However, God’s purposes for your life must come to pass!

* Be Intentional: To ensure a positive destiny, we must be intentional about serving God.

* Listen Closely: Satan often orchestrates loud, pushy, negative voices. We must tune in to the voice of destiny—the voice of God—which calls us to a "thought of peace, to give us a future and a hope."

God's Plan for You

Did you know God has a specific plan for every one of His children?

* Plan of Welfare: He is ready to take care of you! God's plan is never for us to be useless or unfruitful.

* A Future to Aspire To: His desire is for you to have a future that is honorable, responsible, and useful.

Your Action Plan for Destiny
Quoting 2 Timothy 2:11ff, the Bishop gave us clear steps to walk into our destiny:

* Die with Christ: Have you made that ultimate commitment?

* Endure: If our destiny is to come to be, we must be steadfast and endure through challenges.

* Walk in Great Faith: Faith is the key that unlocks the future God has for us.

* Work Hard: Study hard, work with commitment, and apply yourself!

* Shun Vain Babbling: Be careful of empty talk and distractions.

Benefits of Listening

When you listen to the voice of destiny:
* Call upon God, and He will hear you.

* Seek Him, and you will find Him.

We are grateful as the year winds up, and we remain committed to making the Chapel of Resurrection a thriving centre for God’s work.

Join us next time and be part of this great move of destiny!
