Topic: CHRIST LIKENESS (1)
Text: ROM. 12:13-21
MV: "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of Your mind, then you will prove what is his good, pleasing and perfect will of God." (Rom. 12:2)
The Christian life is a life of total submission to the will and purpose of our heavenly Father, who loved us and gave His son as a ransom for our sins:
Jesus Christ is a perfect example of submission, humility and dedication to divine purpose;
"Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to, instead He gave up His divine privileges and took up the position of a slave and was born as a human being: When He appeared in human form He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal death on the cross". (Phil. 2: 6-8)
Christ likeness simply means, obeying God as He did, submitting to divine purpose just like Him.
This can only be made possible when the mind has been renewed by the word of God
"let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”. (Phil. 2:5)
The renewal of the mind is the first step towards Christ likeness, because, the mind is the seat of imaginations and decision making; The strongest tool towards mind renewal is veracious intake of the undiluted word of God
"Where without shall a young man cleans his ways by taking head there unto according to thy word”. (Ps. 119:9)

PRAYER:
Father, renew my mind even today as I study and meditate on your word.
