*Simply put: Because the relationship and expectations are different.*

Here’s why people usually give 3 answers to this:

*1. With Parents: It's not a choice*
You are born into your parents' situation. As a child you have no option to leave. You endure because it’s family, and because you expect things to get better as you grow up. There’s also love, duty, and no financial alternative.

*2. With a Husband: It’s a choice + shared future*
Marriage is entered as adults with an expectation of building a life _together_. So people ask: "Are we growing together? Are we both working toward stability?"
When poverty continues with no plan, effort, or hope, it feels different than childhood poverty because now both partners are responsible for changing it.

*3. Different roles and pressure*
Society often puts the expectation on a husband to be a "provider/partner in building", and on both spouses to contribute. So when one side feels the burden is unfair or one-sided, frustration builds faster than it did in childhood.
