INTRODUCTION: God's covenant with David was in many ways owing to the nature of his heart (a heart of Thanksgiving and gratitude).
David cultivated a lifestyle of thanksgiving. Even his hands offered frequently gifts of Thanksgiving to God. We also see that in almost all of David's Psalms - shows thanksgiving with a grateful heart indeed.
As believers in Christ, if your lifestyle is like that of David you will also benefit from the blessings of God to David.
HOW TO OFFER AN ACCEPTABLE THANKSGIVING: It is key to remember that;
A Thanksgiving that is forced has no power.
Thanksgiving that is done willingly from the heart is that which is acceptable by God.
David lived a lifestyle of thanksgiving (Psalm 119:164) He praised God seven times a day.
MEANING OF THANKSGIVING: Giving thanks to God is all about expressing our gratitude, praise, and acknowledgment for His countless blessings, provisions, and Divine Nature. It’s a heartfelt act of worship that recognizes that all good things are gifts from Him. Thanksgiving also comprises Praise, worship, gifts, redeeming of vows, a positive attitude towards God and the presentation of harvest items such as Abel did.
THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING:
It stirs God to perform miracles and makes you find favour with God and men.
It releases the enormous power of God to do wonders in a person’s life and to strengthen such a person.
It scales you to higher ground. (Gratitude becomes a powerful force that scales you to a higher ground, breaks the hand of the enemies and put an end to one's afflictions.
Thanksgiving unleashes Supernatural Force that Straightens crooked things.
It releases fresh oil for fresh anointing (Fresh oil brings deliverance to your problems).
It leads to great exploits.
It glorifies God (psalm 50:23). And He beats your foes before you
It encourages the testifier and builds his confidence.
As you thank God, you believe Him more. And His Divine promotion.
It edifies (the Church and hearers) and increases one’s faith.
It qualifies a man for another favour from God. Renews/fulfills covenants.
It brings down the glory of God (2 Chronicles 5:13-14).
APPLICATION/CONCLUSION:
There are some battles that are won through thanksgiving. When you pray or fast and you don't get desired results, try thanksgiving
The cup of those who thank God, never runs dry.
Always remember to give thanks daily and more frequently as possible.
When we truly understand that every good gift comes from our Father, our hearts naturally overflow with gratitude. This overflow becomes a river of blessings that enriches us, our families, and our wider community, drawing us closer to God’s heart and unlocking the fullness of His power in our lives.
You are blessed in Jesus Mighty Name!
Amen 🙏
