Let's dive into Malachi 3:6 π
"For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore, you, O descendants of Jacob, are not consumed."
Sermon:
You know, one thing that's crazy about God is His consistency. He's not like us, always changing our minds or moods. No, He's steady, reliable, and unchanging. π
This verse reminds us that God's nature is constant. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. So, what does this mean for us?
Lesson: God's unchanging nature should give us stability and hope. We serve a God who's always the same, and that's something we can count on. πͺ
But here's the deal: we often expect God to change to fit our situations, don't we? We want Him to adjust His plans, timing, or methods to suit us. Yet, He's calling us to trust His unchanging character.
Application: When life gets shaky, and everything seems uncertain, remember that God doesn't change. Hold onto His promises, trust His goodness, and stay faithful. π
Let's break it down further π
God's Unchanging Nature:
β’ He's consistent in His love (Psalm 136:1-26) β His love is "from everlasting to everlasting."
β’ He's consistent in His justice (Isaiah 61:8) β He loves justice and hates injustice.
β’ He's consistent in His promises (Hebrews 6:17-18) β His promises are "yes" and "amen."
Implications for Us:
1. Stability in Uncertainty: When everything around us is changing, God's unchanging nature is our rock. We can trust Him to be our anchor (Hebrews 6:19).
2. Hope in Difficulties: If God doesn't change, it means He can be trusted to fulfill His promises. We can have hope, even in tough times (Romans 8:28).
3. Accountability: Since God doesn't change, we should strive to be like Him (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Let's be consistent in our walk with Him, loving what He loves and hating what He hates.
Questions to Reflect On:
