*DAY* *TWO*
1. *Sign of the Cross*
2. *Opening Hymn* ( *ANTHEM* *PAGE* *41*)
O Mother of Perpetual Help
To thee we come imploring help.
Behold us here, from far and near,
To ask of thee our help to be;
Behold us here, from far and near,
To ask of thee our help to be.
Perpetual help we beg of thee;
Our souls from sin and sorrow free;
Direct our wandering feet aright,
And be thyself our own true light;
Direct our wandering feet aright,
And be thyself out own true light.
And when this life is o'er for me,
This last request I ask of thee:
Obtain for me in heaven this grace,
To see my God there face to face;
Obtain for me in heaven this grace,
To see my God there face to face.
3. *Invocation of the Holy Spirit*
Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of the faithful,
R. And enkindle in them the fire of thy love.
L: Send forth thy Spirit and they shall be recreated,
R. And thou shalt renew the face of the earth
ALL: Let us pray: O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
grant that in the same spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation, through Christ our Lord.
Amen .
L: Thou O Lord shall open my lips,
R. And my tongue shall proclaim thy praise
L: Incline unto my aid O God,
R. O Lord make haste to help me
L: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
R. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen
4. *Act Of Contrition*
*ACT OF CONTRITION*
My Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true Man: my Father and Redeemer, behold at thy feet a poor sinner who has so grievously afflicted thy loving heart. O! Lovable Jesus, how could I have offended Thee and filled with bitterness that heart that loves me so and that has spared no effort to attain my love? How great has been my ingratitude but, o my Savior, be consoled. I say to Thee; now I find myself repentant, such grief I feel for the affliction I have caused Thee; that I would like to die of pure sorrow and contrition. O my Jesus, who could make me weep for sin as Thou hast wept for it in Thy mortal life. My soul is oppressed for having offended Thee. Eternal father, in Thy satisfaction for my offences, I offer Thee the affliction and sorrow the heart of thy divine son has felt for them. And Thou, o loving Jesus! Give me such a horror for sin that from now on it may make me avoid even the most trifling of faults. Depart from my heart earthly affections. I do not want to love anything now but my most bountiful redeemer. O my Jesus help me, strengthen me, and pardon me. Amen.
My Mother of Perpetual Help, intercede for me and obtain for me the pardon of my sins. Amen.
The Creed
L: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, who was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day, He arose again, He ascended into Heaven, and is sited at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
R. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen .

Oh Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help, I salute you with a filial devotion. I renew the consecration of myself, and all I have to you. I thank you for your maternal protection and for many blessings that I have received through your wondrous mercy and most powerful intercession. In all my necessities I have recourse to you with unbounded confidence, Oh Help of Christians, O Mother of Mercy. I beseech you now to hear my prayers and to obtain for me of your divine Son the favor that I request in this novena. ( Here mention your petition). Obtain for me also, dearest Mother, the grace that I may imitate you and become more like you in the practice of the virtues of humility, purity, submission to the will of God and Charity. Be my protectress in life, guard and guide me in dangers, direct me in difficulties, lead me in the way of Perfection, assist me in the hour of my death, that I may come to Jesus, and with thee enjoy Him and love Him eternally in Heaven. Amen.

*SECOND* *DAY*
How sweet it is to think by your peerless beauty, O Holy Virgin, You ravished the heart, not of any earthly monarch, but of the Kings of kings, and Creator of the Universe! Thus you were deemed worthy to be the Mother of the Incarnate Word, the dispensatrix of His Graces, and the cause of our joy. And now, enthroned at the right hand of thy Son, you draw to yourself the hearts of all the Saints, and Angels in heaven and of the just on earth. I rejoice to see You of all creatures, the most beloved, since of all others, you are the most worthy of love. But, I beseech You, O glorious Queen, forget me not, poor exile that I am, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Remember that you are raised on high to better be able to see those who suffer here below, and that you are made so powerful to help us the more readily. You know, O Mary! How I am constantly assailed by enemies from without, and by temptations from within. Be my Perpetual Help; watch over me continually, or I shall be lost. And when through frailty, I fall to call upon you in danger, receive the intention I now make of doing so. May this be ever the habitual cry of my heart, 'Mother of Perpetual Help, forget me not.' Amen.
_Recite 3 Hail Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us.._
9. *SHORT* *REFLECTION*
*COMPH ABUJA ARCHDIOCESE*.
*MAY REFLECTION, DAY 2*
*THEME: MAY DEDICATED TO MARY, OUR GREATEST SAINT*.
As the Mother of God, the Virgin Mary has a unique position among the saints, indeed, among all creatures. She is exalted, yet still one of us.
Redeemed by reason of the merits of her Son and united to Him by a close and indissoluble tie, she is endowed with the high office and dignity of being the Mother of the Son of God, by which account she is also the beloved daughter of the Father and the temple of the Holy Spirit. Because of this gift of sublime grace, she far surpasses all creatures, both in heaven and on earth. At the same time, however, because she belongs to the offspring of Adam, she is one with all those who are to be saved. (Lumen Gentium, no. 53)
Mary embraces God's will and freely chooses to cooperate with God's grace, thereby fulfilling a crucial role in God's plan of salvation. Throughout the centuries, the Church has turned to the Blessed Virgin in order to come closer to Christ. Many forms of piety toward the Mother of God developed that help bring us closer to her Son. In these devotions to Mary, "while the Mother is honored, the Son, through whom all things have their being and in whom it has pleased the Father that all fullness should dwell, is rightly known, loved and glorified and . . . all His commands are observed." The Church honours her as the Mother of God, looks to her as a model of perfect discipleship, and asks for her prayers to God on our behalf.
PRAYER (ALL)
TO MARY, REFUGE OF SINNERS
_Hail, most gracious Mother of mercy, hail, Mary, for whom we fondly yearn, through whom we obtain forgiveness! Who would not love thee? Thou art our light in uncertainty, our comfort in sorrow, our solace in the time of trial, our refuge from every peril and temptation. Thou art our sure hope of salvation, second only to thy only-begotten Son; blessed are they who love thee, our Lady! Incline, I beseech thee, thy ears of pity to the entreaties of this thy servant, a miserable sinner; dissipate the darkness of my sins by the bright beams of thy holiness, in order that I may be acceptable in thy sight._
10. *Prayer to Saint Michael* *the* *Archangel*
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

TESTIMONY
BY MMA VIVIAN
_I am a bountiful receiver of her intercession and miracles. Three of my sons were conceived through her intercession. My first son was conceived after the novena to our lady of perpetual help. It was a smooth ride and ended in praise. Then the devil struck. I had two_ _miscarriages, and one was even a twin pregnancy. My elder brother called me after the second one and asked me to go back to God in prayer. I started the novena exactly one month after a_ _miscarriage and a d Nd c o, I had a dream that my mother of perpetual help snatched my second son from a very black woman and gave him to me covered in a blue blanket_. _I woke and just whispered (with sleep in my eye), "Be it done to me according to your word."_
_And dat was it. I conceived again. The devil came again with bleeding, but now it didn't matter cus God had already settled it in d spirit. I carried my son for 42
