In 2015,shortly after my graduation,I was faced with making a decision for myself or allow others define my life.
No one was on my side and all I had was my conviction about that decision.
With time,my conviction was so strong that I had to win everyone over to my side.
Now,
I discovered that many person's lives are defined by what I call "APPROVAL ADDICTION"
You need the consent and approval of people around you to make a decision, even when it's against your desire.
Many have studied what they didn't want to because of the choice made for them.
Many have married because someone chose their spouse as against the ones they loved.
Personally,
I've had some disappointments in relationships because,you hear stuffs like,
"I love you,but my mom says No"
I believe that if you love a person,
You should be able to defend and fight for them.
Now that's not where I am going
What then is APPROVAL ADDICTION and HOW DO I BREAK FREE?
This is an intense desire to win the approval of those around you and avoid feelings of rejection at all costs.
You seek people's approval because you don't want to seem odd or rejected.
But please,understand that....
Because everyone is doing it,doesn't make it right.
HOW DO I BREAK FREE?
2. Be deliberate about your decisions as much as you are convinced about it
2. If you have peace doing it,then go ahead with determination and courage.
3. Make God the only source of approval before embarking on matters that involves your destiny and future.
4. Seek counsel from the right people and still compare with what God has spoken concerning the matter.
