NIGERIA AT 66 - A CHAPLAIN'S REFLECTION
1st October 2026

Beloved Nigerians,

66 years ago, God gave us a nation. A land flowing with promise, people rich in strength, and a destiny pregnant with greatness.

Today, as your Chaplain, I do not just celebrate a date; I celebrate a people who have refused to break. Through tears and triumphs, through wilderness and wonders, we are still standing — because God has not forsaken Nigeria.

The Scripture says in Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD."

Nigeria may be wounded, but she is not forsaken. She may be shaken, but she shall not fall. For the same God who kept Israel in the wilderness is keeping Nigeria.

At 66, my prayer for you is:

May God heal our land.
May He restore our hope.
May He mend our divisions and make us one again.
May righteousness exalt us once more.

We are not just celebrating independence from colonial rule; we are declaring our dependence on God Almighty.

Nigeria will rise. Nigeria will shine. Nigeria will fulfill prophecy.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
God bless you and your family.

Happy 66th Independence Day!
