The Living Bread
HOW TO PROFIT FROM THE WORD.
Hebrews 4:2 KJVS
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
When you mix the word with faith, then it will be able to save and transform your life. How then do you mix the word with faith?
The following steps can help you effectively mix the word with "your faith"
A quick note here: Your faith isn't just a belief. Though, it begins with believing, it's far more than it. The following steps will help broaden your understanding of how to mix God's word with faith. Faith is in the doing.
1. RECEIVE IT AS GOD'S WORD
When the word of God comes, it is not mere human words. And one must receive it as such to profit from it. This is key to unlock the divine power in the word of God. Though men may be the vessels of communication but the word isn't theirs. (Lk 5:1; 1Thess 2:13)
2. WELCOME AND PARTNER WITH THE WORD
By saying "Amen" you are on a sure way to receive and partake in the divine provisions. It's like signing a contract. That's how to get onboard.
In fact faith is taking God's word personal. It is partnering with God and saying, " It's not just Your word, it's our word." (Ps 106:48; 1 Thess 2:13)
3. PRACTICE THE WORD.
Whatever the word demands, instructs, requires or directs, we are to practice it. Don't just hear or know it, practice it (Lk 6:45-49; Jam 1:22-25)
4. PRAY THE WORD
I will give one or two examples to illustrate, "Practice, Pray the word". A note of importance to always remember: "Prayer is a process (either short, medium or long)".
As the kitchen is, to the emergence of tasteful, delightful meals or the laundry, to the emergence of clean clothes and materials, so is prayer to our lives and destinies. Prayer is not just an *act*, it is actually more than that. It is also a place. Yes, you read that right. Prayer is also the place where you pray. Bear in mind, I do not mean a physical place. Most of us know prayer as an act (praying) but not as a place. Prayer is both a place and an act. As a place, prayer has the needed resources like a well furnished kitchen or laundry to produce delightful things and outcomes. As an act, prayer is the process by which the word of God with other resources are used to turn lives and circumstances into delights, like Eden. (Gen 35:1-15; Isa 56:7; Rev 8:3).
I pray this word blesses somebody today and enlarges your understanding.
Your contributions, questions and/or insights will be pleasurably received.
