I got married at 25, finished my PhD at 27 and became a Professor at 40.

So fast you see! Yes, everything around me worked fast. It is now that I realise that it was a misplaced priority.

My ambition blindfolded me and I got it all wrong, that is why I am sharing my experience through this medium to warn and encourage our young mothers not to be careless as I was back then.

I worked very hard as a lecturer and as an administrator, always so busy that it became my language to my children...."I'm busy"

My mum was around to nurse the children for me for some time. The moment they clocked ten, I sent them to boarding schools, though my husband was not in support of this. I always found my way.

I had no warm relationship with my children, 2 boys and a girl.

I never knew it was a bad idea not to have time for my husband, children and the household, until 5 years ago, when guilt, loneliness and restlessness filled my heart.

I sent for my children to rejoice with me on my 60th birthday.

The two boys, living in Canada said they are "busy" and that their sister will come down from South Africa.

Two days to my birthday, my daughter sent this message to me, "Mum, I am very sorry not to be around over there, there is no time to squeeze out, my husband needs my attention at his newly established clinic and presently, I'm pregnant. "I'm very very busy,
I'm also lonely in a strange land. Please pray for us mum. Happy birthday". I could not recover from the meaning I got from the message.. "First-things-First". When they needed me for warmth and discussion, I was not available, now I needed them for warmth and discussion I could not get them, rather they returned my slogan back to me, "I'm busy"

To worsen the matter, my dear husband died in his sleep a month after. ...Only one of the children came ​without​ his family to the burial ceremony.

I was dumbfounded!!! Considered Opinion: it is good to work and be a hard working fellow.
But hear this important and salient truth:

A husband said to his wife: I miss my family, I hope you will prepare lunch tomorrow, so I can invite them, it's been a while.

The wife said with a sigh: God willing, it will be good.

The husband said: OK, I will invite them.

The next morning, the husband went to work and at one o'clock he came home, and said to his wife: Did you cook lunch? My family will come in an hour.

And the wife said: No, I did not cook, because your family are not strangers, they can eat what is in the house.

The husband said: God forgive you! Why didn't you tell me yesterday that you won't cook and they will soon be arriving, what will I do?😒

The wife said: Call them and apologize to them, after all, they are not strangers.

The husband left the house upset and after a few minutes, there was a knock on the door. The wife got up, opened the door and was surprised to see her family, brothers, sisters and children!

Her father asked her, "Where is your husband?"

She said to him: He left a while ago.

Her father said, "Yesterday, your husband invited us for lunch. Is it possible for him to invite us and leave the house?"

The wife was stunned by the news, and began rubbing her hands, puzzled that the food in the house was not befitting for her family. She called her husband and said to him: Why didn't you tell me that you intended to invite my family for lunch?

He said to her: My family is your family, and yours is mine. There's no difference.

She said to him: Please bring ready-made food with you when coming, there is no food at home.

The husband said: I am very far from home and your family are not strangers, feed them from the food in the house as you wanted to feed my family.

Moral Lessons

1. Support your partner's well-being and happiness it will definitely return back to you.

2. Don't treat your partner's family like they are nothing to you. You have exchanged families immediately you get married.

3. Do unto others what you want them to do to you........

Think about this:
Every successful person has a painful story, so never give up. A school bell that sounds like a disturbance at 8:am also sounds interesting at 2:pm... it is just a matter of time, so Don't envy anyone. Not everyone walking fast has an appointment. Some have running stomachs!... If a rose smells better than tomatoes, It doesn't mean the rose can make a better stew. Don't try to compare yourself to others. You also have your strength, look for it and build on it. All animals that exist, were in Noah's ark. A snail is one of those animals. If Allah in HIS infinite mercy made the snail walk long enough for snails to enter slowly i to Noah's ark; HIS door of grace won't close till you reach your expected position in life. Never look down on yourself, keep looking up. Remember that Broken crayons still color. Keep on pushing, you never can tell how close You are to Your Goal. ...

Deuteronomy 1: 1-3 KJV

1 These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

2 (There are eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadeshbarnea.)

3 And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the Lord had given him in commandment unto them;

In this month of November and beyond, the Lord shall speak peace, abundance, joy and victory to you!

All your heart desires and expectations awaiting fulfillment from the beginning of the year, shall be rolled into an unforgettable 11th Hour Miracle that will reverberate with rejoicing for you into 2024 in Jesus Mighty Name.

Rejoice and be glad for the Lord shall do a great thing for you! Believe it and it shall come to pass in Jesus Precious Name. Amen
