This August, we refuse to remain spiritually asleep.

We declare life where there has been dryness, hunger where there has been complacency, and fresh fire where there has been weariness.

Welcome to our Month of Spiritual Quickening.

“It is the Spirit that gives life.” — John 6:63

A woman of God said this in her video recently, and it stuck with me. She said,

“The God of your seasons understands the peculiarities that come with each of them.”

God understands that there will be seasons when praying at 12 a.m. may no longer be practical because you now have a baby to care for, exams to prepare for, or new responsibilities He Himself has entrusted to you.

But there is no such thing as being “too busy” for the God who made 24 hours sufficient for a person's daily life.

A particular time may no longer work because of a changing season, but there is always time to set aside for God.

But I realized that many times, our devotion suffers the most when our seasons change.

I know good Christian students who pause church activities completely until after exams — drop the Bible, pick up the books.

I recently started a physical job, and in the early stage, it messed up my prayer life because I had a prayer time that I was so used to but could no longer keep up with.

So whenever I woke up to pray, sleep would wake up before me. 🤣

Instead of adjusting the time, I kept trying to meet up with my old routine, but it was hard. Whenever I missed my prayer time, I would get very sad and think, “Omo, this job will take me away from God one day,” meanwhile, God is the One who gave me the job.

As your seasons change, your routine may change too, but don't stop being sensitive to God. Sometimes He may nudge you to spend a little more time with Him or pray at a different time. Don't become so attached to a routine that you miss His leading.

May your devotion never be the thing that suffers when your season changes.

And may we learn to prioritize devotion without idolizing a particular devotional structure so much that we fail to adjust it to accommodate our seasons — and the God of our seasons.

Does God still want me? | Part 4 | a fictional series

That was the moment all your defenses broke.

You fell to your knees, body shaking with sobs, and called out to Daddy again.

Not polished prayers. Not perfect words.
Just tears. Honesty. Need.

And somehow, it felt like coming home.

You did not need anyone to tell you.
Seun’s line was firmly cut.

Weeks later, after basking again in fellowship with Daddy, you looked into the mirror one morning and saw it again:

The depth. The beauty. The genuine joy in your eyes.
They were back.

And now you know:

The life you truly want will always be the one lived with Daddy.

Girl, if you’re reading this and you feel too far gone…
If shame is telling you Daddy doesn’t want you anymore…

Hosea 2:19 is for you.
“I will betroth you to me forever.”

Forever.
Not until you mess up again.
Forever.

Come home.
Daddy’s waiting.

Tag a sister who needs to remember she can always come back home 🤍

Does God still want me? | Part 3 | a fictional series

For the first time in ages, you played a worship song.

Not because you felt holy.
But because you felt desperate.

You got home unusually early that evening.

And sitting at your study table with tears still in your eyes, you picked up your Bible — the one that had been gathering dust for months.

You did not know what you were looking for.
But you opened it anyway.

You kept flipping through pages.

Verses you had marked years ago caught your attention, but still, you kept searching for something you could not explain.

Then you stopped at Hosea.

And Hosea 2:7 caught your attention:
“Then she’ll say, ‘I’m going back to my husband, the one I started out with. That was a better life by far than this one.’”

You froze.

Because suddenly, coming back to Daddy felt like something you desperately wanted to do.
But still, shame held you back.

You kept reading.

Then verses 19 and 20 stopped you completely:
“I will betroth you to me forever…”

God was willing?
Even after everything?
He still wanted you? Forever?

What happens when God still wants you after you thought you lost Him?

Final part tomorrow…

If you’ve felt “too far gone,” read Hosea 2:19-20 today. Then come back and tell me what God said to you 👇

The first time something deeper than a kiss happened, you did not know how to feel.

But one thing was certain:
You could not go back to Daddy now.

You were a mess.

You remember standing in front of the mirror one morning, staring at yourself and barely recognizing who was looking back.

The innocent Daddy’s girl you once were felt gone.
Something had changed.

Everything with Seun became normal.

But deep down, you knew you were not okay.

You missed Daddy.
But you felt too messed up to approach Him.

Still, you made it a point to attend church whenever possible.
Probably because some part of you still wanted to stay connected to Daddy somehow.

Then one morning, instead of rushing to work as usual, you just lay in bed.
Numb.
Out of touch with yourself.

Eventually, you forced yourself up and got ready.

On the drive to work, a thought crossed your mind suddenly:
“The devil finally has my soul.”

And for the first time in a long while, the thought scared you.

At work, you were not yourself.
Your colleagues noticed. Seun noticed too.

That day, you did not wait around after work. You did not even plan to see Seun.
You just needed to leave.

The moment you entered your car, you burst into tears.

What do you do when you feel too dirty to come home?

To be continued in Part 3…

Have you ever looked in the mirror and not recognized yourself? You’re not alone 👇
