BENEFITS OF GIVING TO THE POOR AND NEEDY

Proverbs 19:17
He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.

Greetings in Jesus name. This is the concluding part of my former message " IGNORED SINS THAT WILL TAKE SOME BELIEVERS TO HELL PT 1 " . In my recent studies about giving , I discovered that giving to the poor and needy has the greatest rewards . By obeying the command you will benefit here on earth there in heaven. Unfortunately , it is the least preached and practiced in the church today .

Out of the various giving channels which includes worship offering , tithe , project offering , parental offering , prophet/ministers offering , etc , only giving to the poor and needy stockpiles treasures for you in heaven ( Matt 19:21 , Matt 6:19-20 ) . These treasures determines the extent of your heavenly rewards and placement on the day of judgement. In this article , I will focus on the benefit of giving to the poor and needy .

THE BENEFITS

Psalms 41:1-3
[1]Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
[2]The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
[3]The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

DEDUCTIONS FROM THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE

(A) As you give to the poor , the Lord will keep delivering you from all forms of troubles .vs 1

(B) You will enjoy God's protection , preservation and long life . vs 2

(C) God will continue to bless you for being generous to the poor . vs 2

(D) God will continue to thwart and frustrate every evil plots fashioned against you by your enemies . vs 2

(E) When you fall sick , God will strengthen you and grant you healing .vs 3

Job enjoyed maximal benefits by taking care of the poor and needy . Even Satan expressed his frustrations concerning this in Job 1:9-10 :
So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

Job was so prosperous and formidable , becoming the richest man in the east , and Satan couldn't stop his progress.

Giving to the poor and needy was one of Job's secret as chronicled in
Job 31:13-21 . Where he narrated how he fed the hungry , clothed the naked , housed the homeless , took care of the widows and orphans , etc , besides his daily offerings.

Isaiah 58:6-11
[6]“Is this not the fast that I have chosen...
[7]Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
[8]Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
[9]Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am. ’ ...
[10]If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then ...
[11]The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

BENEFITS CONTINUES

(F) Your light will break forth , leading to deeper revelations in the knowledge of God . vs 8

(G) You will always receive divine interventions in prayers and speedy answers as you keep taking care of the poor and needy . vs 9

(H) You will be divinely guided in your ministry , business , career , job family , etc . vs 11

(I) You will be like a watered garden whose waters fail not . This means you will be continuously fruitful and productive . vs 11

(J) It's a weapon of warfare to defeat your enemies .Proverbs 25:21-22 says , If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you.

(K) You activate supernatural wealth transfer by giving to the poor . Proverbs 28:8 , says one who increases his possessions by usury and extortion gathers it for him who will pity the poor.

This is the secret that gave birth to many multinational companies , they have foundations as channels to reach out to the poor and needy.

(L) It imparts righteousness. It brings soul salvation to you and unbelieving members of your family . Psalms 112:9 , says he has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor.

God visited and granted salvation to Cornelius and his family members because God remembered his alms giving.

(M) It catalyzes the release of personal and corporate anointing leading to productivity and supernatural church growth. In Acts of the apostles , they were taking care of the poor and needy by sharing food and eating together, and that leads to explosive church growth.

MY TESTIMONY
I have several testimonies relating to giving to the poor but let me share this one as I round up .
Around 2002 in Abuja , I did a supply worth 150 thousand naira. The client whose headquarters was in Port Harcourt refused to pay as was scheduled . We prayed about it in the home cell , I fasted about it , I lifted my tithe booklet before God to rebuke the devourer , I travelled and met him in Port Harcourt, even met a lawyer who wrote to him to pay . All these efforts yielded no fruit.

A pastor advised me to pay a tithe of the money but I was not convinced that that will be the solution . Off course I pay my tithe promptly before then even till date . So , I kept praying about it . One day , I was on the site and I overheard a woman sharing how she had been struggling to feed her children. I had compassion on her and gave her two thousand naira ( as at then three thousand can buy a bag of rice ) .

So , I left the site heading home . While on my way , my phone started ringing , surprisingly, it was the client calling me. I was perplexed to see his call . This is a man that never called me and had stopped picking my calls for some months .When I picked , he told me where and whom to meet to collect my money. And that was it ! I got paid. No doubt , it was the help I offered to that needy woman that activated divine intervention leading to my payment. Praise God.

Sometimes , God gives you a message to preach through the mess you went through. If God wants to use you to feed the hungry , he will allow you to suffer hunger for a reason ; so that you can feel and experience what it means to be hungry , thereby positioning you to be more compassionate to the plight of the poor and needy.

God had revealed and promised to give our ministry billions , among other purposes , these funds will be deployed to feed and empower hungry multitudes across Nigeria and the nations of the earth .

In conclusion , you have seen the humongous merits of giving to the poor and needy . The merits far outweighs the demerits and it's consequences.

Remember it God's commandment to you to help a needy brother or sister , and if you declined to give , it is a sin (Deut 15:7-9) . For instance , if a hungry brother or sister ask you for bread . If you have ten loaves , you can give one or more . If you have one loaf , you are expected to share a portion of that one loaf with him/her. Refusing to give at all is a sin .

Furthermore , in Matt 25:41 , Jesus said as a result of this sin , you will be cursed into everlasting fire . This is one of the ignored sins that can take many believers to hell including pastors .

The commandments of Christ ( doctrines of Christ) is the template for your judgment not your denominational creeds.So you can choose to obey or live in disobedience. Choosing between life and death ; blessing and cursing . Deut 30:19 .

The choice is yours.

You need to receive grace to obey Christ's commandments including giving to the poor and needy through salvation. If you are not yet born again , pls repeat and say loudly the prayer below:

PRAYER OF SALVATION
Father, I come to you. I have sinned , forgive me my sins and wash me with the blood of Jesus. I accept Jesus as my Lord and savior. Give me grace to love you and live right. Thank you for saving me.

Please prayerfully join a bible believing church for discipleship.

May the Lord grant you grace to run this heavenly race and embrace eternity in Jesus name-amen .

IGNORED SINS THAT WILL TAKE SOME BELIEVERS TO HELL . PT1

I called it ignored sins because many believers doesn't consider them sins that can take them to hell if unchecked. Pls read on patiently...

Matthew 25:41-42,44-46
“Then He (Jesus) will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Greetings in the name of Jesus. In these last days , as we await for the return of our Lord Jesus , it is pertinent that we keep examining ourselves spiritually , so as to remain raptureable. In the above scripture , Jesus stated categorically that those who refused to minister to him when He was thirsty , hungry , homeless , sick , etc will be cast into everlasting fire. But they argued how ? He told them that whenever they refuse to offer help to the least of the brethren , they did it to him.

It is unscriptural for someone in your church , service unit , workplace , neighborhood, a friend , a relation , etc , to communicate to you that he has not eaten or asks you for financial assistance to buy food stuffs and you declined or ignored him/her . Be careful because such attitude will stand against you on the day of judgement.

Deuteronomy 15:7-9
“If there is among you a poor man of your brethren.... you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother,
but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs. Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart ....against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to the Lord against you, and it become sin among you.

In Matt 5:42 , Jesus commanded his disciples , "Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away" There is no specific measure or amount stated , but you must give according to your ability at that moment.Jesus commanded you to give to the needy because he knows that people might be going through different challenges at some points in their lives, may be loss of job , business , property , breadwinner , etc. You must bear in mind that all humans are susceptible to having challenges or being in need , and nobody is an exception.

The man Job lost everything and went through trying times , not because of his sins but his integrity was on test.Imagine the richest man suddenly became the poorest .His three friends didn't help him with food , rather they misjudged and accused Job of committing iniquities . Job 22:5-10 . Finally God showed up , approved Job's righteousness and gave him double for all he had lost but rebuked his friends for their heartless behavior . ( Job 42:7-10 ) .

You must refrain from accusing or judging needy people because you are not God and your are prone to judge wrongly . David suffered hunger in the wilderness due to persecutions from king Saul.He begged wealthy Nabal for food , instead of helping David and his team , Nabal insulted and accused David of insurrection .God judged and killed Nabal for his cruelty towards David . ( 1 Sam 25:2-34 ) .

Sometimes , people go through momentary challenges , not necessarily because they are living in hidden sins .In David's case , it was part of God's training for his royalty assignment. God was preparing him for the throne. Sometimes God will allow you to go through hunger because he wants to use you to feed the hungry in the future . ( Heb 2:16-18 ; Heb 5:8-9 ) .

On sunday 22nd June , 2025 , I received a message from a stranger stating that he has not eaten since morning and he wants me to give him a certain amount to buy food . I wasn't having much on me but after some chat with him , I discovered that he is a student pastor from Kwara state . So , I sent the amount he requested which was more than 30% of the total cash I have . I thank God for the grace to pass that spiritual test because , out of what was not enough , I gave to that hungry soul - sacrifice indeed .Then in less than 24hrs , I received nine times the amount I gave him.Allelluia!

Jesus commanded me to give anyone who asks me esp needy or hungry soul . I would have judged him by saying that , something is wrong with him , he has made some mistakes , he's lazy , not living right , not paying tithes, under a curse , mock him for begging , etc. Jesus did not command me to judge but to give him . This has been my practice for several years till tomorrow.

Some people detest giving or helping the needy because they lack compassion , goodness, faith , grace ,etc .Some have wrong mindset about giving to the needy .

1 John 3:17
But whoever has this world’s goods, and
sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

The situation may require you to give several times if the need persists , as long as God has given you the resources .Be grateful to God that you are the giver and not the beggar .Establish it as a policy that after your tithe and offerings , budget a percentage of your earning for the poor and needy. It is commendable to be involved in donations , fundings of all sort , scholarships , community projects , etc , but if you fail to give food to a hungry soul , it is a sin and it will stand against you on the day of judgement ( Deut 15:7-11) while the earlier ones will not stand against you , because it is not a sin if you don't do them
Obedient is better than sacrifice.

Jesus commanded believers to ask and receive. You can ask God or ask your neighbor . Asking or begging for help is never a sin but having the resources and refusing to give to a needy or hungry soul is a sin . Please don't misunderstand me , I'm not encouraging begging in any way because believers are commanded to be givers . Lk 6:38 .

As government have failed to establish food banks , leaders of the interdenominational churches should set up food banks from where food items should be disbursed to hungry members , ensuring that no member of the church goes to bed hungry . This will stimulate the government to follow suit.

This feeding program will drastically minimize crimes like financial corruption , arm robbery , kidnappings , banditry , terrorism , etc .Love expressed through giving is the hallmark of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Act 10:38. Let's practice love as Christ did .

This message is for all , esp believers including church leaders.Refusal to help a needy person esp a hungry soul will take you to hell. You must obey this commandment from the Lord Jesus. Matt 25:41-42 , 44-46 .

As a believer God's love increases in your heart by the operations of the Holy Spirit. Rom 5:5 . Ask God to give you the giving grace and you will find it a delight to always give to people in need.

As an unbeliever , your soul is more important to God than your money. Give your life to Jesus and God will add other things that money cannot buy . Matt 6:33 . If you don't have Jesus , you won't have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, and giving will be a herculean task . I want you to receive Jesus (God's love and eternal life ) into your heart right now.If you are ready , please say loudly the prayer below:

PRAYER OF SALVATION
Father, I come to you. I have sinned , forgive me my sins and wash me with the blood of Jesus. I accept Jesus as my Lord and savior. Give me grace to love you and live right. Thank you for saving me.

Congratulations for saying that prayer. Prayerfully locate a bible believing church for discipleship.

WHERE ARE YOU PLANNING TO SPEND YOUR ETERNITY ?

Philippians 2:12 in
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed ... work out your own salvation with fear and trembling .

Several years back , I concluded that I will end up in hell fire not bcos I didn't like to enter heaven . I fathomed that it's pretty difficult to obey God's commandments bcos of the weaknesses of my flesh . After some self-contemplations , I decided to give it a trial . I told my then girlfriend on campus that when I leave school, I will give my life to Christ. She warned me never to come near her if that happens. Fortunately for me it happened. God sent an old school mate who preached to me,I listened , repented & received Christ. Praise God!

I believe God is sending me to you with this message. There are two places God has predestined you to spend eternity. First is his heavenly kingdom. This is meant for those who accepted Jesus as their Lord & savior, who lived right by obeying the doctrines of Christ. Second is his lake of fire. This is meant for those who rejected Jesus as their Lord & savior, who lived in unrighteousness, & without repentance died in their sins.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
[9]Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
[10]nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Sir/ma , if you are already living in the above mentioned sins , you have decided to spend your eternity in the lake of fire . I hereby enjoin you to repent . Something I thought was impossible was made possible by God's grace. Grace is the supernatural ability that God gives you, working through you , enabling you to live holy , overcoming sins , temptations & Satan.

Jesus said in John 14:6 ,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

It means that if you follow Jesus, you will end your journey of eternity in heaven. You follow him by obeying his commandments & doctrines. The word of God (Jesus ) is the spiritual compass that takes you to heaven , the same way pilots fly to their destinations with aviation compass. So , you must create time to read the word of God everyday.

Growing up during my primary school, I had an earthly vision of becoming a civil engineer . That propelled me to take my studies very serious. Months before taking WAEC & JAMB exams , I spent close to 7hrs daily , studying for several weeks. After the results were released , JAMB sent me an admission letter to study civil engineering in the university of my choice . Because , in one sitting , I cleared all my WAEC papers including securing the required cut off mark in JAMB. Discipline & diligent study helped me to actualize that vision.

Today , I have set another vision before me , that is , among other visions, to ultimately spend my eternity with Jesus in his kingdom. And by God's grace , I'm tenaciously pursuing it , giving it all it takes by constantly praying and studying the word of God everyday plus other spiritual activities .In this heavenly journey, prayer & reading the word of God are the key ingredients you need to arrive at your destination . Regrettably, many christians rarely pray & study the word of God everyday. Just like you can't pass your exams by chance , you can't make heaven by chance. You must pursue & work it out.

Stop this lame excuse that you are weak in some areas , begin to work on those weaknesses & by God's help you will surmount them . You will not be like Moses who saw the promise but could not enter it bcos of just one weakness - anger temperament. You will not miss heaven.

If you succeed in your academics , career , job , business , etc ,which is commendable, but fail to make heaven ; you have
failed woefully in life.

I hereby stir you up to re-direct those earthly pursuits to heavenly pursuits. The man Job was the richest in the land of the east , and he's one of the most righteous in his days , and he ended up in heaven.

That's the kind of success God wants you to pursue and accomplish. Righteousness is your ticket to heaven , not those earthly accomplishments and awards .

If you are already saved , run this heavenly race by constantly engaging in prayer , word study & evangelism ,etc. If you are backslidden, or not saved yet , repent, wash off your sins with the blood of Jesus & receive grace to live right.

I want you to conscript into this heavenly race by asking Jesus to come & save you. If you have not done that , please say the prayer below.

PRAYER OF SALVATION
Father I come to you today , I have sinned , forgive me my sins. Wash me with the blood of your son Jesus. I accept Jesus as my Lord & savior. Give me the grace to run this heavenly race by obeying your commandments & to make heaven. Thank you for saving me.

WHY DELAYING IN BRINGING BACK THE KING?

2 Samuel 19:12
You are my brethren, you are my bone and my flesh. Why then are you the last to bring back the king?’

We are in the last days , Jesus Christ the king of kings is ready to come back . Everything prophesied by Jesus in Matt 24 are already happening , except Matt 24:14 which says , " And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come "
It means that everyone who is living in this generation will be given the opportunity to hear the gospel at least once & have an option to accept Jesus as Lord & savior or reject him.

Who are delaying the return of Jesus? Those who are not winning souls & are not preaching the gospel .You are saved to save others . Several years back , the Lord told me that , " I'm ready to return but my people are not ready" Why? Because many are lukewarm and are indulging in active sins like sexual immoralities, lies, unforgiveness, stealing, etc. Those who practice all these will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Furthermore, the Lord showed me on several occasions, visions of rapture taking place. He revealed that one out of every seven christians (14%) are heavenly bound i.e raptureable. I believe this percentage has appreciated over the years due to ongoing revivals. But how ready are you for the rapture ? If the trumpet sounds now , are you going to be among those that will be raptured? One thing that will disqualify you from being raptured is sin . Repent now!

One of the fastest ways believers can get Matt 24:14 fulfilled is by online evangelism. It's simple , easy & cost effective. It's all about sharing salvational messages, where altar calls are made. You can create your own e-tract or be among those sharing them online. After the Lord gave me this idea of internet soul winning , He revealed to me how powerful & instrumental this will be , in reaching out to millions of souls across the globe.

On 25th Dec 2020 , I sent a Christmas message on Facebook. Later , I got a feedback from Facebook that my message entered 45 nations with an exception of few countries who intercepted it .I was perplexed, with just one post , I preached to millions of souls across the globe. The population of the world is around 8.2 billion , one-on- one preaching can't get Matt 24:14 fulfilled in this generation.

I admonish pastors & general overseers to mobilize & engage their congregations to deploy online evangelism coupled with other methods of soul winning.
It's more than church growth, it's all about reaching billions of souls around the world with the gospel of salvation thereby fulfilling Matt 24:14.

This article is a clarion call for all christians. You don't need to be a pastor or ordained minister in order to preach the gospel. In the book of Acts , Stephen progressed from serving tables to holding city wide crusades . In Matt 28:18-20 , Jesus commanded all believers to preach the gospel & win souls , irrespective of your title or position. So , if you're already saved , get involved in preaching the gospel. if you are backslidden or yet to be saved , repent , receive salvation & grace in Christ Jesus and begin to evangelize.

Active engagement in soul winning keeps you spiritually healthy & strong in the faith. It's one way to remain saved perpetually. Remember, no religion or denomination can save you. It is Christ living inside you , that's the hope of everlasting life. Your name might be in your church register but is your name in the book of life?

Revelation 20:15
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Lake of fire is not your portion. That's why you must be born again. It's a new life in Christ whereby you are empowered to live above sin , temptation, death, & the devil . I want you to receive Jesus into your heart before it's too late. There is no repentance in the grave. God is offering you another chance to accept Christ now! if you have not done so and you are ready, please say the prayer below:

PRAYER OF SALVATION
Father I have sinned , forgive me my sins , wash me clean with the blood of your son Jesus. I accept Jesus as my Lord & savior. Give me grace to live right & serve you all the days of my life. Thank you for saving me.

THE LAST BECOMING THE FIRST

"...And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”

God has a great plan for you to succeed & be at the top of your calling in life. The mountain top is your final destination, you will not be relegated to the valley side of life.

Your testimony will be like king David , a shepherd boy who was abandoned & forgotten in the bush on the day of coronation by prophet Samuel . He was not considered as a king material & was not invited for the coronation . He was rejected by his family members but was accepted by God and was anointed king over Israel . He ended up becoming a man after God's own heart & the best king Israel ever had.The last among the sons of Jesse becoming the first.

Your testimony will be like Father
Abraham , who at the age of 75yrs was considered a failure , had nothing to show in life , married but barren alongside with his wife .He walked with God , fulfilled destiny by becoming the father of many nations. Eventually God blessed him in all things , & he departed this earth gloriously at the age of 175yrs. The last becoming the first.

Your testimony will be like Apostle Paul , a persecutor of the church turned preacher , the least & the last to join the apostleship but eventually became the greatest apostle of all times. The last becoming the first .

Many pessimists may have concluded on you , that nothing good will come out of you because of your present status , but my God will disappoint them by changing your story . The God that lifted Joseph from prison to the palace will show up for you very soon.

It doesn't matter what you are going through right now ,
maybe you are indebted , jobless , homeless , childless , struggling financially or even begging to eat ; maybe you are facing career , business or family challenges, disappointments , rejections , mockeries ; maybe you are afflicted , terminally ill , disowned , etc . I have good news for you, God will turn it around for you , lifting you from the backstage to the front stage , turning you into kingdom celebrity.

All your kingdom dreams, visions , assignments, projects, innovations , ideas , etc will surely come to fulfilment because God is too faithful to fail you. The only person that can stop you from fulfilling divine purpose is YOU , not even the devil & his agents can stop you.

Don't give up on God & on yourself. Keep pressing forward, never get discouraged by people's unfavorable attitude or critical remarks towards you . Be focused , diligent and determined to reach your destination , which is the TOP.

For you to emerge at the top of your calling ,you MUST live righteously, obey God's instructions as He leads you , keep praising & serving God , keep studying the word of God , keep praying without ceasing , keep loving & doing good to people , shun unrighteousness ,hatred, unforgivenes , sexual immorality,etc.

Fulfilling God's vision may take you a while, slow but sure & guaranteed , because with God all things are possible. At God's appointed time , all those who had previously disbelieved , ignored , despised , rejected , betrayed , insulted and mocked you will come around to celebrate you because of God's undeniable glory , radiating through you to the nations .

Deuteronomy 28:1-2
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you..."

THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE WILL BE YOUR TESTIMONY AND MY TESTIMONY IN JESUS NAME - AMEN

But only Jesus can take you to the top & preserve you there. He's calling you to follow him so that he can make you great in this life and in eternity. He's the maker of all people.

Getting connected to Jesus means subscribing to righteous living , by first disconnecting from sinful lifestyle. Jesus shed his precious blood on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins , gave you eternal life and grace to live right.

If you miss heaven , you won't miss lake of fire. What will it profit you to gain the whole world and loose your soul in hell fire .

You must repent from your sins , ask for his forgiveness & receive grace to live right. You must be born again and if you are not , pls say the prayer below.

PRAYER OF SALVATION
Father I have sinned , forgive me my sins , wash me clean with the blood of your son Jesus. I accept Jesus as my Lord and savior. Give me grace to live right & serve you all the days of my life. Thank you for saving me.
