When King Hezekiah received a message from the prophet Isaiah that he was going to die, he didn’t argue. He didn’t try to convince Isaiah to change the prophecy or pray for him.

Instead, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and spoke to God.

That moment says a lot.

He understood something many of us still struggle with — that people, no matter how anointed or accurate, are vessels. They speak for God, but they are not God.

Hezekiah didn’t confuse the message with the Messenger. He knew who to take the real conversation to.

And it wasn’t because he only knew God’s promises. He knew God’s person. He understood that the One who had the power to proclaim also had the power to reverse.

That’s insight that comes from relationship, not religion.

Many times, when we receive hard news, whether from doctors, mentors, or even spiritual leaders, and we stop at what we hear. But the wisest thing to do is what Hezekiah did: go back to the Source.

Because sometimes God doesn’t just want to show you what He said… He wants to show you who He is.

REMEMBER
Don’t let any voice, no matter how spiritual, replace your own conversation with God.
People deliver messages.
Only God delivers mercy.

Tomi had a plan for her life.
Graduate by 22, get a good job by 23, start her own business by 25, and be married before 30.

It was all mapped out, up until life refused to follow her timeline.

She graduated later than expected because her final year project got delayed. The “good job” she prayed for never came, and the small business she tried to start barely lasted six months before it collapsed.

Each time she prayed, she felt like God was silent. She kept hearing people say, “God’s time is the best,” but honestly, it didn’t feel like it.

By the time she turned 30, she had learned to stop making detailed plans. She just focused on doing what she could: volunteering at her church, helping out at a small foundation, and mentoring some younger girls in her area.

Then one day, the founder of the foundation she volunteered with told her he was moving abroad and wanted her to take over operations. It was sudden, but everything about it fit perfectly.

The experience she gained from her failed business became useful for managing the foundation’s finances. Her delayed graduation gave her extra time to develop leadership skills she didn’t even realize she had. And her years of “waiting” had built patience and empathy that made her perfect for the role.

Within two years, the foundation grew three times larger. It became her full-time job and eventually opened doors to partnerships she could never have imagined.

Looking back, Tomi realized nothing was actually wasted. Everything that felt like a delay was just preparation.

God was never late.
He was on time.

God’s time isn’t like ours. His promises may not come when you expect, but when they do, you’ll see they were never late; they were right on time.

📌 The world is full of uncertainties that drive fear, uncertainty, overwhelm, and even untimely death. But those who trust in God's word will never be moved (Isaiah 40:8)

📌 He that promised is faithful.

📌 Often, we read our Bibles to get God's promises. There are numerous of God's promises but a lack of understanding or reliability on He that promised (his trustworthiness) can make you unable to access those promises.

📌 Pursue knowing God, not just his promises.

📌 When situations that leave you on the unfortunate side come, will you have sacrifices, commitments, or devotions you can present as your "strong reason" like Hezekiah?

📌 God's timing is not our timing. His promises may not happen on your time, but they will happen in HIS time.

📌 How to Hold on to God's Promises
✓ Don't worry about anything. Pray about everything (Phil 4:6)
✓ Embrace the assembly of brethren and build each other up (Hebrews 10:25; 1 Thess 5:11)
✓ Remember God...and know that he's watching over you and His word to fulfil it (Matthew 6:25-30, Jeremiah 1:12)

𝔼ℕ𝔻ℕ𝕆𝕋𝔼
When Hezekiah received the death proclamation, he didn't confront Isaiah, nor did he question himself or query God. Instead, he turned his face to the wall and sought for mercy. That came from a personal understanding of the God that promised.

The Story of the Lampstand Church

Once upon a time, in a bustling city stood Lampstand Church. It began as a small gathering of believers who loved God with fiery passion. Their prayers shook the community, and their love drew many to Christ. But as the years passed, something shifted.

First, compromise crept in quietly. Leaders and members alike began to align with the ways of the world. Some joined in questionable business practices, others overlooked sin because “everyone is doing it.” Their witness grew dim.

Then came the lure of money. What was once a house of prayer became a marketplace. Fundraising gimmicks replaced faith, and people began to believe the gospel was for sale. The purity of their message was tainted.

Soon after, immorality entered their camp. From the pulpit to the pew, holiness was treated lightly. Gossip, envy, and hidden sins weakened their strength.

And in the midst of it all, the members became lukewarm. They were neither on fire for God nor fully cold. They attended services, sang the songs, but their hearts were divided between God and the world.

One day, the Spirit of the Lord spoke through a humble servant:

“Lampstand, repent, or your light will be taken away. Return to your first love. Be holy, for I am holy.”

How to Partner with God for Witnessing ✝️✨

Partnering with God in soul winning is one of the greatest privileges of every believer, as we saw on Sunday. It’s not just a call, it’s an assignment.

Here are 3 keys you can start with:

1️⃣ Be Genuinely Born Again
You can’t give what you don’t have. A real encounter with Christ is the foundation for effective witnessing. When you are saved, your life becomes the first testimony others see.

2️⃣ Know God for Yourself
Don’t depend only on what you hear from others. Build intimacy through prayer, the Word, and fellowship. A deep personal walk makes your witness authentic and powerful.

3️⃣ Make a Commitment to Evangelism
Soul winning is not a suggestion—it’s a mandate. Decide that your voice, your influence, and your resources will serve the purpose of drawing men to Christ.

👉 Start with these three and watch how God uses you as His vessel of light.

Jesus is coming.

Whether today. Next week. Nor in a decade's time.

The question is not when he will come.

The question is how prepared are you? Would you have rewards? Would you be a ready bride?

2. Merchandising the gospel (Acts 8:18-23)

3. Immorality.

4. Being hot and cold (Revelations 3:15-16)
