The Peace of Christ

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. - Colossians 3:15 AMP

The world is a topsy-turvy place, full of all kinds of uncertainties and troubles. These troubles have a way of taking control of our lives and dictating the pace, the decisions, and actions of our daily existence. Many do not know that they are not in control of their lives. They can't see that they are like firefighters struggling every day to extinguish the different fires life throws at them. They are busy but not productive.

The peace of Christ is meant to be the controlling factor of our lives. This basically means that we are to move at the pace dictated by God and His word. We work from inside out, not outside in. It is walking in the reality of God’s promises, not the troubles of life. This requires a per-second, per-minute devotion and focus on God. It can't be something we do occasionally or when we are in trouble. Looking for peace in the time of trouble is like learning to shoot in the time of war.

Prayer
Father, thank You for Your word today. I surrender the control of my life to Your peace. In Jesus name, Amen.

Confession
I am a child of God! I live by the peace of Christ, directed by His grace, secured in His love!

1. Sometimes what God says might be too lofty for our minds.
2. Or what God has said may seem foolish in our own eyes and
3. Sometimes God will use a vessel you do not like, say a person you consider ordinary.
