SINCERITY OF INTENTION IN ISLAM
In Islam, Muslims are encouraged to consider their efforts and contributions as supplications. Hence, our actions and inactions must be carried out for the shake of Almighty Allah and His Holy Prophet (SAW) (Aḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5694).
Based on the above, the SINCERITY OF INTENTION for performing Hajj should be more important to individuals. We all need to remember, Prophet Ibrahim’s Akedah- his willingness to sacrifice his son as a sign of devotion to Almighty Allah.
Historically, the usage of Honorific Titles (Al-Hajj, Hadiya) and Dentures (Eyin-Gold) as signs of successful completion of Hajj remains a subject of debate.
Recently, the flaunting of pictures on social media for pomp or show, among pilgrims in Mecca has raised question regarding the “SINCERITY OF INTENTION” for performing holy pilgrimage.
Note worth, not everyone will be able to perform Hajj. But in Islam, there are other good deeds that have the same reward as Hajj.
Please stop oppressing people unconsciously and be mindful of Islamic rules.
Let us be guided, the reward for Hajj includes the promise of paradise and forgiveness of sins (Abu Hurairah – Hadith No 2630) but not personal fame.
