The Humanity of Jesus (2): Why It Matters.
By Pastor Emmanuel Jackson
Last week, we established that Jesus is fully God and fully man. Today, we look at why His humanity is essential.
(SIGNIFICANCE OF JESUS’ HUMANITY) -Why Jesus Became Human
1. To enable Him identity with our daily realities - (Hebrews 4:15)- Jesus experienced life like we do, so He truly understands our struggles. He is not distant, He relates to our pain.
2. To give us a pattern to follow- (1 Peter 2:21)
Jesus showed us how to live. His life is the pattern we are called to follow. Christianity is not just belief, it’s transformation into His likeness.
3. To give Him legal authority to operate on earth (Psalm 115:16)- Since dominion on earth was given to man, Jesus became human to operate within that system. Today, God still works through people, we are part of His eyes and legs to carry out His plans on earth.
4. To make Him the perfect mediator (1 Timothy 2:5)-As both God and man, Jesus bridges the gap between us and God, giving us direct and confident access to Him.
5. To allow us experience God fully - (Hebrews 1:3) Through Jesus, we don’t just learn about God, we experience Him fully.
6. To gives us hope for future resurrection(1 Corinthians 15:20)- His resurrection assures ours. Death is not the end, but the doorway to eternal life.
7. To make His death possible -God cannot die, but as man, Jesus could. His sacrifice paid for our sins and secured our redemption.
Jesus became human so we could live fully and rightly. His coming is rooted in love, He understands you, walks with you, and invites you into the life God designed for you.
