π FURTHER READING
1 CHRONICLES 12:1β24
π KEY VERSE:
"Now these were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, helpers in the war" (1 Chron. 12:1).
ποΈ COMMENTARY:
A one-man army has a short time to exist. Lack of war helpers prolongs battles. In the long run, that individual will eventually crumble. A one-man army has a short time to exist.
Saul's Dynasty collapsed due to a shortage of soldiers. War helpers are not liabilities but assets. They bring value to our lives. Verses 2 and 8 of our scriptures mentioned three values that war helpers bring:
1. Skilled:
War helpers are often
men of experience and
capacity.
2. Face of a Lion:
They are men who do not
fear the risk involved in
fighting to help others.
3. Swift Footed:
They are swift and
steadfast in their
decision. They are not
indecisive.
These characteristics made David and his men remain triumphant over their enemies. David had war helpers. These were men who were once with Saul but left him and stayed with David.
Saul failed not only because he disobeyed God, but at a time in his life, there were no men to fight for him because:
ππ½ He was Insecure:
Insecure people see their war helpers as threats and rivals. Saul saw David that way.
ππ½ He was not accommodating:
Saul lacked the skill to accommodate dissenting voices and diverse opinions; hence, they defected to David, where they found solace (1 Sam. 23:1).
Do you have men who will roll up their sleeves and bow their knees to God until they see you manifest God's purpose for your life?

π CONTROLLING THOUGHTS:
Life is warfare. Wars are not fought by individuals but by armies.
ππΏ PRAYER:
Father, send me helpers of war who will not rest till my destiny is turned to me in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
